The only thing I didn’t like about the doorbell camera is that they force you to get a subscription to be able to see recordings.

Posted .Hello Lilmo! I am glad that you are enjoying your Blink Video Doorbell! While the Blink subscription plan is recommended for cloud storage and some premium features, the Sync Module 2 specifically that came with your device allows for a USB flash drive (not included) to be plugged into the back of it and can be used as a means for local storage. Going forward, with the new additions of our new Core and XR modules, only the XR module will allow for local storage but your model comes with the Sync Module 2 that still allows for this feature. Qualit door cam for half the price of others.

Used my old sync module and paired up nicely. I've been using Blink since it first came out. So, I am grandfathered in on the free plan. From what I read the paid service is not as expensive as some other plans out there. Image quality is great, and I paired it up to an indoor cam so whenever the doorbell rings it sounds through the indoor cam.

Would definitely recommend for apartments since it is wireless and battery operated!
