Didn't hardwire install as I wanted to see if I liked it and how well it worked before I cut into our new siding. Just using the batteries now and 30 days in working great. I did end up getting the monthly plan w/Amazon for $10 as I have 2 more indoor cameras to install. I'm happy with it for the price works great.

Even tho I didn’t see anywhere before purchasing, that it’s subscription based after 20 day. The plans are like $10 and less a month. Still a great investment!
