Armed with just a little bit of mechanical ability, the doorbell installs easily. Software setup is fairly simple, as well. The video quality is excellent and the sound is the best I've heard on a doorbell. However, while the horizontal field of view is good, I feel the vertical field should be expanded. My doorbell is mounted at standard doorbell height, but I'm unable to see the floor of my porch. I would also like to see the doorbell get its power from typical doorbell wiring. Why it still requires batteries to operate is a mystery. All that being said, at this price point, you just won't find a better video doorbell. Highly recommended.

Installation was easy. I downloaded the new Blink app (which the instructions recommend for the doorbell) and then I proceeded to follow the step-by-step instructions via the app to configure the doorbell to work with my home's wired doorbell chime. The app made it easy to specify that I was using the wired chime, and it allowed me to test that the doorbell worked with the chime. It then ran a diagnostic and confimed that the Ring doorbell was compatible with my wired chime. Other than that, it operates with my existing sync module, so it was merely another Blink device to add from that perspective. The doorbell alerts seem timely, the video quality is good (I've set it to "best"), and I like that I can block out areas where I do not want the doorbell to trigger motion alerts. I like it...
