Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had planned on upgrading my RING but decided to try BLINK as the videos looked a lot clearer plus you can view the camera through Alexa on your smart tv. While all of that is good, the notifications and Live video are not. It takes a solid minute to view someone at the door to talk to them.. by that time they are already gone! I work from home so this is a very important feature to me.

Cameras should maintain a 3-bar signal strength to the Sync Module and Wi-Fi network. I also recommend that if you're using batteries, you ensure they have enough charge or replace them with a fresh set. Old or low batteries can significantly impact performance. It saves short videos when someone presses the button or merely walks in front of it. To view the videos I use the App to pull them off the Sync module ( which requires a USB device). Very clear videos.

The doorbell looks cheap and not in any way theft proof. If you set camera up to capture all movement with minimal downtime between recordings the battery life is not good.

It’s important to note that Blink doorbells are made for motion-activated recording and live viewing, not for continuous recording. The battery life is advertised based on normal use and settings. In regards to your concerns about theft, if your device gets stolen, Blink will replace it as a courtesy if you provide a police report for verification. Talk to somebody and disconnecting every camera sync module and reconnect all the cameras, like the first time you set up

Posted .Hello Misshowdy! Thank you so much for providing feedback and a review on your experience with your Blink doorbell camera! I am so sorry that you are having issues with your battery life. There are a few steps that I would recommend to troubleshoot this. First, you can make sure that you have a strong connection. You can do this by tapping the Settings icon (3 dots) of your camera in the Blink smartphone app then go to Device Settings>General Settings. Here you can find your network strength and strength of your connection with your Sync Module. If these are not good then it will negatively impact your battery life. The next thing I would recommend is to check your motion and video settings. You can see these as options underneath General Settings. There you can adjust your settings to lower the sensitivity or lower recording length or gray out motion zones that you do not want alerts from. All of this will also help your battery life immensely. The next thing that you will want to ensure is that you are not using regular alkaline batteries. You will need to use lithium ion (Li-ion) AA batteries as these will hold a charge better in outdoor elements. If you are using regular alkaline AA batteries, they will drain very quickly. Lastly, if none of this helps improve your battery life, I would recommend contacting Blink Customer Support through the smartphone app's Help menu or by calling 781.332.5465 to troubleshoot further. Bought the 3 rd one it worked first shot. We have this same system at our house. Bought this for a gift for a family member. Was on the phone with Blink support for a few hours. They said it was the device both times. The 3rd one worked great!
