Was fairly easy to set up, but you have to go online for instructions. There seems to be a problem with connecting to servers. Many times the "system was busy" and nothing would come through. It chimes outside and on your phone or you can use Alexa to announce and warn. We use Alexa and like that aspect.

Good budget doorbell camera

Only drawback is that the wired installation did not go as planned, but that is likely a transformer issue on my end versus the Blink product itself. I will need to check the transformer to see if it is not rated highly enough to power the Blink doorbell. In the meantime, it operates just fine on battery power.

Small but Solid - Echo Show Not Great

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We built a new house and they didn’t wire a doorbell so this was the first option we came across that was battery operated and it’s price point and being backed by Amazon was a big draw So far it’s worked really well. My only negative so far is that while the Echo Show says it works with this and vice versa it is extremely delayed to pop up or notify us on the show device despite being less than 30ft and unobstructed line of sight. All in all a perfect solution at a great price.

The only thing I didn’t like about the doorbell camera is that they force you to get a subscription to be able to see recordings.

Posted .Hello Lilmo! I am glad that you are enjoying your Blink Video Doorbell! While the Blink subscription plan is recommended for cloud storage and some premium features, the Sync Module 2 specifically that came with your device allows for a USB flash drive (not included) to be plugged into the back of it and can be used as a means for local storage. Going forward, with the new additions of our new Core and XR modules, only the XR module will allow for local storage but your model comes with the Sync Module 2 that still allows for this feature. My husband owns a small body shop & we bought it to let him know when someone comes through the door when nobody is in the office. It’s terrific! With the phone app, he can tell the customer he’ll be right there. It’s also good at letting us know if someone shows up after hours. It’s easy to set up & I’m not tech savvy! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for an extra set of eyes for security.
