I just don’t like that there’s a 3-5 second delay to record after catching movement. I was looking for something instant. This was not it. I have all the settings to start recording, but it does not until 3-5 seconds after. The person coming up to my door is already at my door by the time it detects said person and alerts me. And I have a fairly short driveway.

Your Blink Doorbell captures motion based on either passive infrared (PIR) or pixel difference analysis (PDA). Your camera's motion sensitivity setting adjusts how much input it takes to send you a notification. Low sensitivity is less responsive, so a larger amount of heat or motion is needed to cause a notification. The highest setting may cause alerts from blowing leaves or even shadows. Is the Doorbell's motion detection setting on or off? If this is off, your device will not detect motion, and motion notifications will not be sent to your mobile device. On your camera's thumbnail, tap "More." This menu displays whether motion detection is on or off. If motion detection is off, tap the motion detection button to turn it on. You can also check your camera's Device Settings > Motion Settings to see if motion detection is turned on. I hope this information is helpful. Plan to add the cameras to all work on the same module. It is good that this will then record to a flash drive . Time will tell how well this is going tp work without having to pay for a subscription to the cloud.

Night vision could be better. Installiation wasn't the easiest when it came to snaping into place. I felt like I'd break it.

The app though is pretty terrible not going to lie. Theres always a lag between the live feed and sometimes the app will fail to load the image. Theres not that many features and you also need to subscribe to their service to save any footage after the trial. Truthfully theres better options out there worth the investment. This is more of a starter option into a security system for your home.

Not what I hoped for

Also, the thing rings outside but not inside, so not sure what the purpose even is of the chime. We ended up buying a different brand.
