||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have put about 10 hours into BloodBorne and as a Dark Souls fan, I enjoy the gameplay immensely. As far as the overall system goes, don't expect a huge difference from the Souls series. The menu graphics and layouts, as well as the controls, fonts, and how the game feels and plays is very close, if not identical in most ways, to the Souls series. That's not to say that everything is the same. From what I've read, there isn't nearly as many weapons in this game as the Souls games. Some character stats from Souls are missing, for good reasons. I feel my 'Pros and Cons' list could go on a while longer, but I think that all of these things, overall, happened for a good reason: Action. This game drops just a little bit of the RPG element for more of an Action feel. You will still find yourself as cautious as ever and dying a lot. But, the stamina mechanic doesn't feel as restricted and there isn't really a way to 'block' per se (until later, I think). Instead, you will be moving around a lot more and dodging attacks to stay alive. All in all, I think any Souls fans will love it, but need to go in realizing that they won't collect massive amounts of weapons/armor and, for me anyway, the enemies seem a little easier (not a lot easier, cuz they still kill me often [and bosses are still very, very tough]). If you've never played one of the Demon's/Dark games before, this is a good way to get into them. Newcomers may get frustrated with the difficulty, but this is a game of trial and error, and always picking your battles (some you can run from and that is a smarter choice sometimes).

Prepare to die....and love every second of it.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game carries on the tradition of Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Dark Souls 2. If you have played any of these games then you know what to expect. If you haven't...prepare to die. Over and over. Just realize that these games are not just hard for the sake of being hard, but they allow you to learn from your deaths and overcome your shortcomings as a player. The sense of achievement when you finally beat something that has been keeping you down is unparalleled. Remember that if worse comes to worse you can run right by many of the enemies instead of taking them all on to get to some precious loot that will give you a fighting chance. I hold this series of games with the greatest of all time. It is not as hard as it might seem at first. Stick with it! You will be glad you did.

A Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bloodborne is a great game. Creature and level design are top notch and the game keeps you on your toes until the very end. The load times are a bit long but they do little to detract from the wonderful experience that Bloodborne provides. Just be aware that this game is difficult and you will die a lot but stick with it. Believe me, it's worth it.

Great PS4 Exclusive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is tough like Demon Souls but once you get the attack patterns down for the enemies becomes more manageable. The graphics and sound are great. The load times after dying and between warp locations is annoying but a patch is soon to be release to address that issue. Definitely would recommend for those that liked the Demon Souls series.

the first real ps4 exclusive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it's a great game, a bit challenging. this game does not offer any hand holding for people crying that it's too difficult. a bit resident evil 4 like in scenery/mood. it's one of those good games that you should have if u like hack n slash type games. if u liked the order 1886, where u don't even get to play, then I would not recommend this to u

It grew on me!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off I had purchased this a couple years ago after hearing about how amazing it was. I played about 5 minutes of it and for some reason it didn’t real me in. Every few months or so I’d try it again and still nothing. I eventually got rid of it then of course remorse set in and I wanted to give it one last try. Recently it went on sale for PlayStation’s “Days of Play” sale for $9.99. At the time I still had my Gamers Club Unlocked, so I got an extra 20% off so I figured, why not? I’ve had it for a few days now and I’ve been playing it non stop. The challenge is so refreshing for me and rewarding. I never feel like my deaths are cheap, it’s always because you’ve done something wrong and as a result you get destroyed. The upgrading system is really addictive for me. I absolutely love the thrill ride of earning a bunch of ‘blood echoes’ (games currency) to upgrade my character and deciding whether or not to push forward and earn more and risk dying then having to track down that enemy that killed me to retrieve them or just back track to the nearest lamp (checkpoint). I could go on and on but I feel like this games been out for so long you’ve either made up your mind on buying it or not so I’ll end it here.

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For fans of Dark Souls, this game is right up your alley. Gameplay that will challenge you and may even make you rage quit sometimes, but you still come back for more and try again! Bloodborne will test your skill (and some cases your patience or maybe even your sanity) and will keep you hooked until the very end.

Staple within a line of great PS4 exclusives.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bloodborne is a must buy for any ps4 owner. If you haven't played any of the souls games this is a best of place to start than any. The game has a higher difficulty, but the game's main point is to use the difficulty and the dense world to suck you in and take everything you've got. This creates the entire worthwhile experience, and it is one every PS4 die hard should give a try.

Patience is a Virtue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game will test you both mentally and physically. Get past learning the game mechanics and you will be rewarded with an experience unlike any other. The only negative is that when you die the loading screen takes awhile and since you will die a lot especially early on, it will be a little annoying. So try not to die and it will be great!

Good game... Minor problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start by saying hat Bloodborne was a bit over hyped prior to its release; if you're not familiar with the Souls series then you may or may not live this game. It's difficult enough to be satisfying yet never reached the bone crushing difficulty of its predecessors. Loading screen are extremely long... Which is a problem that has be some what alleviated by a patch. Buy if you've played and like the souls series

Great game for a challenge.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buy a new controller with this game. Its challenging, it can be tedious and its extremely hard. But something keeps me playing the same area over and over. You die you start from the last save point. Its tough and its not for everyone but it makes you think and strategize. Graphics and atmosphere are great. Don't know how far I'll get in the game but I've died so many times and each time I learn something else.

From Software never disappoints
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another great FromSoft game. Yes they are difficult, but so worth it. This game has some fairly big changes compared to the Souls games and I wasn't sure if I was going to like it as much. I have about 60 hours in the game now and can't stop playing it. This IS the reason to buy a PS4 right now. It's why I bought mine. Great game.

flawless
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game will chew you up and spit you out, and you will love it. At first, it can be daunting with how ruthless the game can be. But after the first few deaths, it clicks how you need to respect every encounter you get into. Be it a weird flightless crow-person thing scuttling around on the ground, or a giant tentacle clad death wolf. You will spend most of your time rolling around. But its awesome.

Amazing with a catch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never played the other souls games. I wish I could rate a 4.5 because one thing that really bothered me about this game is that they assume you have played those and are really lazy about the game system and tutorials. I get that From Software "is awesome" but no matter how you cut it, not explaining what the difference is between your 3 initial weapon choices is poor design no matter how you cut it. All that said, once you get into the game and understand the flow, it really is an amazing game. I would strongly encourage new players use a wiki to orient themselves. In this game they assume you will do that or already have a ton of experience - it's kinda the answer to games that get spoiled on the internet. On this one spoiling just gets you to level ground to try and win. The fighting is similar to the god of war system but slower and more precise. The mix of RPG elements with the combat make for a very enjoyable game for any action RPG player (once you get past the initial dying every 5 minutes). I have to admit - while I was close to trashing the game, I stuck it out and From Software has made a convert of me...

Bloodborne Review
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What else can I say except another great title from the makers of the Dark Souls series. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for more of a challenging experience out of a video game much less an rpg. And, if you have played any Dark Souls games you'll feel right at home. Only major issue is it's a ps4 exclusive so unless that changes, if you have anything other than a ps4 you're out of luck.

Impressive!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is very similar to the Dark Souls games because it was created by the same developer. It can be very challenging and frustrating at times but very rewarding as well. You need patience and careful planning on attacks or you'll be taken down swiftly. No rushing in guns a blazing!! Graphics are beautiful and very dark, gothic, and dreary. Just a real spooky feel to it. All in all just a great game.

best PS4 game so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is awesome in every aspect, the gameplay, graphics, style, the dark storyline and playability. This aint for the impatient, this is a very challenging yet addictive game. I died a hundred times and more. I took me at least 30-40 hrs to beat the game but I just want to play it over again to get the alternate ending.

Beautiful and Brutal, 9.5/10
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is a step up on the Dark Souls franchise. If you play Dark Souls, you already know what you are getting, if you dont and you do not like games that are ridiculously challenging and offer massively addicting gameplay, then this game is not for you. Otherwise it is a must have PS4 exclusive that is well worth the $60.
