Don't be afraid of its difficulty. Trust me, it takes some time for you to really understand the timing and how to fight "the right way" but once it clicks, this game is going to suck you in. It's gorgeous and really justifies why you should own a PS4. My only gripe are the loads times though I hear they are going to try and address that with a patch. If you want a game you can really sink your teeth into for a long time, this is it.

By far one of the most difficult yet one of the most satisfying games I have ever owned. I tell people that they must own a next-gen system for games like The Witcher 3 and others, but that they must own a ps4 for Bloodborne. The first few hours (which can take anywhere from an hour to upwards of 5 hours) will have you wanting to tear your hair out, but the struggle is well worth it for the entire experience awaiting you.

Bloodborne turned out to actually be easier than Dark Souls, but still poses a good challenge that keeps the game engaging. You'll still die alot, but it's always obvious how you died and how you can fix it. The combat system, pacing-wise, is actually faster-paced compared to DS. Overall, if you liked DS or if you enjoy being challenged (but not too frustrated), this game is pretty spot-on.

First off, this is the most difficult game on the PS4, and probably the best one so far. Very reminiscent of Dark Souls and Demon's Souls, but there are no shields; this game is less about blocking by shield than attacking, but more about dodging then attacking. Bosses, atmosphere, graphics, and gameplay are superb. The only downsides are that this game is not for causal gamers and the framerates may drop occasionally.

This game is comparable to the Demons Souls series, which I, admittedly, haven't played. Entering this game I was not expecting such a rich, detailed, immersing game that will test your wit and patience. It's an infuriating game but I keep going back to because it's so fun and rewarding. I absolutely recommend this game to those who seek a challenge, test their bravery and divulge into insanity that is Bloodorne.

If you've played the Souls series before you'll have an idea of what to expect. Great atmosphere, haunting music, chilling enemy designs, a community that is digging at the lore and always looking to help, and death. Lots and lots of death. You will die in the game. Repeatedly. But it is surmountable and the game rewards you for learning how to play. The weapons are great and the world is large, give it a try.

While not quite a successor for 'Souls' series, this new title from Director Miyazaki opens a new dark fantasy world with an accompanying aggressive offensive combat mechanic. It challenges players both through unusual and darkly beautiful environments reminiscent of macabre scenes as well as through challenging twitch controls to survive, fail, and retry many times over. Excellent game worth the investment.

Developer From Software continues to challenge us with another masterpiece. Being familiar with their "Souls" series, I already knew the game would be difficult and I embraced the challenge. I love the speed and fluidity of the game. The graphics and atmosphere are great. I don't have an issue with the load times but I hear there's a patch coming to address the issue. This is my favorite game to play on PS4.

Bloodborne is a beautiful game when it comes to graphics, and very intense in terms of how challenging it is. It is much like the predecessors (Demon Souls/Dark Souls), but with a fictional/vampire/werewolf vibe instead of medieval times. It is definitely the type of game I would recommend to players that like immersive single player games that constantly has you puzzled and challenged on what to do next.

You'll be saying that quite a bit. And while you'll be angry and annoyed and spiteful, you'll keep playing the game. Because it's beautiful and wonderful and great. The online multiplayer makes the game--if you've ever played Dark Souls, it's the same sort of online system and it's the same sort of amazing fun. Instead of souls, you have "blood echoes" and they are the same experience/currency system that From Software has had in place. Very fun game, very challenging. There are a few bugs that I've run into, but nothing game-breaking on my end. I hear that there IS a game-breaking bug that will be fixed via an emergency patch in a week or two, but it seems like it's sort of hard to activate said bug. Still, if you want a more polished experience, wait a little bit longer for patches to come out and especially for the community to figure out what the heck is going on in-game, because From is notorious for not telling anyone anything. It's all on the onus of the community to discuss stuff in forums. I am not strong enough to play through From Software games without consulting the various wikis. IMPORTANT CAVEAT: If you don't have Playstation Plus or an internet connection, I CANNOT recommend this game. It will turn into a total completely repetitive level grinding fest. I cannot imagine beating some of these bosses without help. My prediction is that it will not be fun, it will just be dying. The difficulty level is ruthless, but I still am in love with this game.

This game is incredible! Highly recommend for everyone, especially horror fans. And I say that because the atmosphere is beautiful and reminiscent to survival horror. Also speaking of survival horror, the boss designs are so beautiful yet horrifying. Makes you think you’re in a survival horror in a way. Combat is very fluid and the weapons are fascinating. Highly recommend for survival horror fans and anyone looking for a challenge being it’s a Souls game.

Crazy realistic game play. Awesome story. Intense fights and action.

This game was the main reason for me buying a PS4 and had to buy it again for a friend's birthday. It's the game that has defined my experience with the PS4. If you look past the superficial characterization of this game as difficult for difficulty's sake, the story and art direction, not to mention the quick-paced, frantic gameplay will keep you coming back for more.

I've avoided this title like the plague for the longest time, thinking it wasn't the right kind of game for me. Boy, was I wrong. This game is borderline addicting, with plenty of heart-racing areas that will keep you on your toes. It is difficult, but rewarding if you're patient.

I had always read that it was a fun game, seemed to have positive reviews, but I never really read about gameplay. I thought maybe it would be like God of War. This game is a bit more difficult, takes a bit of time to get used to enemies tendencies. You can get 2-3 hit very easily by mobs. Once you learn it is not a button masher, it is an entertaining game.

Dark Souls is a spiritual successor to Dark Souls in many ways. The faster action and the larger focus on dodging and not shield blocking make for a more aggressive game overall. Really enjoyed the weapons though some are way more useful than others. The story is not as intriguing as the souls games but it's still difficult and great fun. Cleared the story and achieved the "good" ending.

Bloodborne is by far one of the greatest games available on the Playstation 4. From the makers of the Dark Souls series of games, FromSoftware delivers another amazing action RPG experience with a bit of a Victorian and Lovecraftian twist. Like the Souls games before it, it is brutally challenging but extremely rewarding. Give it a shot if you've got what it takes.

Bloodborne was my first game in the so-called ‘souls’ type games and even though I haven’t finished it yet, from what I have played it is a masterpiece. From Software is one of the few developers that actually puts a AAA game of actual AAA quality and they have yet to fail that expectation. While Bloodborne is a difficult game, it is really rewarding and everything from the combat to the atmosphere of the game world itself is absolutely stunning. My only gripe with the game is that I wished it ran better on PS4. 30fps is okay, but I would have liked if they released a patch for PS4 Pro and eventually PS5 that would allow it to run at 60fps. Other than a few complaints about the performance of the game itself, I can highly recommend this game. If like challenging games but have not played any of the ‘souls’ type games yet, I would say start with this one. You will have a great time with it like I did and when I eventually beat the game someday as well.

If you like any of the Souls games then definitely get Bloodborne. Bloodborne along with the Dark Souls games have created a niche genre onto itself. Game is ruthless but very rewarding. Being a PS4 exclusive, this is a must have for any PS4 gamer. Stick to it even though it might be frustrating in the beginning, once you get the hang of the mechanics it is a lot of fun.
