Not a bad game by any means and definitely a good throwback to past castlevania games, but with bugs that still need patches and a noticeable downgrade in graphics it does make for a worse experience than the xbox / ps4 version.

I purchased the Switch version of the game and its launch issues have been well documented. Everything you’ve heard is true, the game doesn’t look particularly polished on Switch and as of September 2019 there are still crashing issues. Despite this, I still find myself enjoying the game and wanting to soldier forth. It’s a fun game with loads of content. There are so many options for weapons, power ups, food that it feels like you’ll have to leave things out just to progress. But, if you try things out a bit you should have no problem finding a load out that fits your style. All in all it’s worth playing. The Switch version is manageable now if you don’t want to wait but you’re probably better off waiting for a patch to address the crashing issues at least.

Masterfully crafted game. nice graphics and back ground music. I would play this game for quite a few hours. It is however a bit frustration that I can't just save the game at any one given point. The music is really well synthesized. I did enjoy the 2 D animation which brings back a lots of memories of retro gaming.

This game really captures the likeness of a Castlevania Symphony of the Night type game. Great 2D style gameplay, very challenging as well... The ps4 version does look better in my opinion, but otherwise a solid pickup.

When this game came out, I wanted to check it out but had heard the switch version ran pretty poorly. I finally picked this up on sale finally and the game has been patched quite a bit since launch. So far the game seems to be running fairly smooth. It isn't perfect but it is quite playable. As a huge fan of the Iga Metroidvanias, this was something I wanted to play for a while. And I had to get it on switch to play in portable mode the way I used to play the DS and GBA Castlevanias. If you have played any of the old metroidvanias, you know what you are getting here.

i don't know where to begin. the game is a huge mess. firstly, it's blurry and muddy and felt rushed in development as if the switch was only an afterthought in production (which technically it was). the frame rates dip and the resolution is severely lowered that what was shown in media promotion. i'm not sure how Iga, the director/producer can get away with this. stay away from this for now, at least until you hear about a patch fixing all this (which is in the works after all the backlash)

This game is a great metroidvania type throwback to classic Castlevania games, but Switch version is poorly optimized currently. If you have another console or PC, I'd recommend getting that version instead.

Amazing game but flawed with some performance issues. It's been pointed out by the devs and they seem like they're focused on fixing it. If you can deal with small issues this game is worth the pick up.

The game is fantastic in every regard, but better on every platform than on the Switch, sadly. It's still a fantastic game just a bit of a bummer that it isn't optimized for Nintendo's hybrid console.

Great side scrolling Metroidvania title! Its nice to see this kickstarter take off and not only become such a big thing but also pay homage to the Castlevania series while also doing its own thing. Once I knew the creator of some of the best Castlevanias worked on this I knew it was gonna be good, and it didn't disappoint!

I waited the extra week for Bloodstained and unfortunately, it appears the Switch port is not optimized very well. If I were to never have seen the PS4/Xbox One versions then this port would have still been a wonderful title. However as it stands, the best option would be the XB1/PS4 versions of Bloodstained. The game itself, regardless of it's shortcomings, is an astounding title worthy of standing up with the rest of the Castlevania titles it's spiritually related to. If you're only option is the Switch version then you'll still be in for a treat.

It's about time this game came out. The delay certainly polished this game up a bit, although the PS4 and XBOne versions are nicer graphically. This one is a little watered down, but at least there's the portability factor with the Switch that most people are buying this version for anyway. Great game, and replay value. Definitely recommend!

Game is decent but you are better off getting the PS4 or Xbox version. Framerate for this game on the Switch is 30fps and the other consoles run at 60fps. Big difference in smoothness of the game. This version also has crashed several times while playing. Especially after hard boss fights. Always save immediately after a boss battle. The loading times for this game on the Switch is atrocious for a cartridge based game. If I knew about all of this I would have gotten the other console version. Supposedly there is a patch coming for it but its coming with weapon and equipment nerfs also... no reason for that since you don't play online with anyone.

What can we say about the original castlevania maker. With a gofund me filled within the day of its goal this has been one successful indie. It did have many bugs on release but they did a great job of ironing it out and making this switch game one if its very nest metroidvania games, I completely recommend this,

The game is great but it doesn’t run super well on the Switch. Still fun to play and haven’t had any issues bad enough to hurt the quality of the gameplay.

I really enjoy the castlevania series. Was this symphony of the night? No but nothing ever will be, still a solid 8.5/10 for gameplay and story l, I enjoyed it a lot.

Playing this game seemed like it wasn't polish all that well. For starters the frame rate dips since launch was absolutely atrocious and for that fact I waited sometime after launch for it to be fix. Compared to PS4 and Xbox's versions the look of the game isn't great and besides that the constant dips on a system that can play oddysee or zelda is baffling. Otherwise when the fixes did happen this game is completely fine and good for your collection. As always Bestbuy delivers perfectly on time and is a good reminder of how you package a product.

The base game itself is very good if you like Castlevania type games, however since the Nintendo Switch port was handled by a different development team, it suffers in some areas such as frame rate and load times, at the time of this review. The developers have reached out and have promised to fix some issues.

If you love Castlevania then this is the closest you're gonna get to a new one for awhile. Switch version seems a little glitchy as of this post though.

The only that is holding this game back is that it does have a little lag in certain parts. Overall though if you like this genre you’ll love this game.
