game is good, but has performance issues on the switch

Plays like SOTN or the GBA Castlevanias but is a little on the sluggish side.

Needs update for it to play properly on the switch.

I have not had the change to play this game yet but I have heard slot of good things about it. As always, my experience with Best Buy was perfect.

This amazing reboot of the Castlvania series should be recognized. We will be seeing more work from these talented developers after the successful launch of the Bloodstained series.

Quite the satisfying Castlevania experience that you don't want to miss. Even if you haven't played one of these games before it's worth giving it a try.

I helped back the game on kickstarter 4 years ago and I can tell you the game is amazing. I got the platinum... on the PS4. I wanted to support the game more and buy it on the Switch for the steelbook; however, I cannot recommend this version. The graphics are horrible, and the low FPS is intense on boss fights. IGA and 505 games are aware of this and still pushed a bad product to the market. Eventually it will get patched more but I would avoid this version no matter what unless the Switch is your only option to play this game.

In all honesty, I haven't played this game much since I got it, but that's because each time I do I'm worried about activating some dialogue prompt that'll crash the game, decimating all my progress since the last save. And this is on the current 1.03 patch that went live on Halloween. To be fair, I understand that a port to a game that stared proper development in 2015/16 that only started to get ported in 2017 using maybe the Xbox One as the "lowest common denominator" would end up very, very rough around the edges. But in this state, on November 30th, 2019, I say wait for a good discount or buy it elsewhere. Also, the plastic flap included for the steelbook didn't even stick inside the steelbook well after closing it. Really feels like Switch owners got a bit of a raw deal.

This version of the game was not ready for the public and released in a terrible state. The developer has promised to fix the major issues with this port, but as of 8-20-19 it is still not up to par with the XB1 or PS4 versions.

My perception of this was a little off but still a ok game to play

This game is pretty good on PC and PS4. On Switch it is bad. Lag and frame drops from the beginning. Allegedly there should be an update incoming to fix these issues but it’s been 3 months so I’m not holding out too much hope.

I've owned this game for the Xbox and now the Switch. Switch is the way to go because this game is a handheld's dream.

It’s a really fun game for the price. It’s also the closest thing we’ll ever get to a sequel for castlevania symphony of the night.

If you liked Castlevania symphony of the night you will love this game. I bought it after my friend recommended it and I wasn’t disappointed.
