Not a bad game but Symphony of the Night is better in every aspect. I expected more customization in a new 2019 game.

The graphics wasn't my cup of tea. The gameplay was also lacking. You will get some fun out of it, just not that much.

This is your typical 2-D stroller type game. Reminds me of a new version of Castlevania.

Disappointing. The game is super sluggish and I really couldn’t get into the story all that much.

    Awesome successor to Castlevania: SOTN.

I'm impressed with the level of detail in this game. It really is a true spiritual successor to Castlevania: SOTN. The size of the map is huge and there is so much to discover. I'm not a huge fan of the crafting aspect of the game, but it doesn't take away from how fun it is to play. You can also choose your style of play, both with weapons and magic. It's pretty great!

Short version: If you enjoyed any of the Metroidvania style Castlevania games (Symphony of the Night, Order of Ecclesia), you would enjoy this one. Slightly longer version: An overall high quality experience, some draw backs are the visuals, and some cryptic parts. The (entirely subjective) issue with the visuals, is the contrast, while the cell shaded design works with the gothic setting, every thing seems to have a sheen to it and can be blinding bright in certain places. The cryptic parts are mostly for the endings, and the crafting, the game could have given more information as opposed to booting you to the game over on any of the "bad endings."

Finally the true spiritual successor to the greatest game of all time; Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I am many hours into this game and can whole heatedly say the gameplay, graphics, controls, music, story and "fun factor" are all present. This game is a masterpiece so far and hope anyone looking for a 2D Metroidvania are in for a treat.
