Let me qualify this review before I write it. My iPhone 5 was stolen when I was out of the country. Unfortunately, the contract on it will not end for another couple of months. As a result I had to buy a phone to use in the meantime before my family is able to purchase another one. So began my relationship with this phone. The price on this phone was fantastic to see and before I go further into a review of this phone I am amazed that a smartphone can cost this little. However, the reason that the phone costs so little is very evident. For parents who are sick of their kids being on Twitter and Facebook all the time then this is the perfect phone for them. I am able to scroll down for maybe 3 seconds before the phone decides it can't handle the pressure of running the app and then freezes. The same goes for about any website on the internet. If I want to read an article on the internet I'm basically only able to read the headline and the first 3 sentences before the phone freezes. In addition, this phone will not run Snapchat without freezing either. Freezing is definitely a common theme with this phone. If there's even a hint that two apps are running simultaneously the phone will freeze without fail. From the time I wake up to the time I finish eating breakfast the phone will have frozen about 6 times. Sometimes the phone will freeze just by me trying to unlock it. This freezing seems to affect the clock as well which will sometimes display what is definitely not the right time. I firmly believe I have spent more time frustratedly staring at the blank screen of this phone waiting for it to unfreeze than actually using it. I think using this phone has definitely changed my perspective on the world. Since I apparently can't use my phone for anything besides playing music I have learned to appreciate eating without checking the news or sports. I am actually forced to engage with those around me and observe the environment around me. Besides that I have no positive things to say about this phone other than I can functionally use it to call people and text them. The battery life is pretty meh.

This phone recently failed me in 2 urgent situations. Great phone for the first week or two, but as I used it and put a few apps on it (Facebook, XfinityTV, and a couple of stores) it slowed way down. It now is intermittently very slow, and it freezes regularly. Twice last week it failed me in urgent situations such as when I asked Google for directions on a dark, rural road, when I couldn't see where my turn was. The directions didn't show up for a long time, and when I clicked on them, the phone froze again. It also froze when I tried to call a doctor's office on my way to an appointment. Sometimes I can't even answer the darn thing when a call comes in. And texts can take a long time to come in. I think it's probably an ok phone if you don't drive in unfamiliar places in the dark or you don't have medical emergencies. If your phone is your lifeline, spring for a better phone. On the BLU, if you do decide to get it, keep the apps to a minimum and just use it to call and text. I bought it as a replacement when my Samsung was in the shop, and when I started using the Samsung again I was amazed to realize how much more powerful it was than the BLU.

Worst phone I have ever owned - unbearably slow

When my wonderful $60 Coolpad (bought at Walmart) broke, I popped into the local Best Buy, figuring their name meant I wouldn't be getting an absolute piece of trash. I was wrong. Big time. This phone is painfully slow, constantly freezes, etc. When a call comes in, the phone will ring & vibrate, but the screen stays black for at LEAST the first three rings, often more. More than once I have found myself holding the phone in my hand when a call came in, only to be unable to answer at all. The entire setup is moronic. For instance, installing the SIM card is a grueling procedure, requiring you to stick a thin & fragile metal piece (mine snapped) into a tiny hole, & somehow yank out the holder. This is made all the worse by the ridiculously vague instructions. I could go on & on in detail explaining all various faults & horrors of this phone, but I wouldn't want to traumatize anyone. Owning this phone has been a nightmare, & I am very disappointed in Best Buy.

I bought this unlocked Blue Grand M phone at the end of September 2017 and have had nothing but issues with it since. The longer I have it, the slower it gets, and the more issues it has. From not sending pictures, to not connecting to the internet, to the sim card slot getting stuck, to the buttons not working, it has been pretty much worthless. Two months later and I am already replacing this phone. I would not recommend.

I purchased this phone to use temporarily while my main phone was being repaired. However, this phone would crash even when using simple apps like Google maps or Spotify. I returned it the next day. A complete waste of time and money.

This phone cannot handle basic functions without stopping and rebooting. This happens on a regular basis. I get frequent messages about process system not working. I have suffered with this for four months. As soon as I can get some extra money, I will go Tom Brady on this phone and destroy it with a hammer. If you need a cheap new phone, scrape up a few more bucks and buy something other than a BLU phone.

Slow, Unresponsive and Certain Apps don't work

Samsung finally killed my Note 4 the other day with one of the fatal updates they pushed out a few months ago. I picked up the Grand M as a placeholder until I got a better phone, (like the Note 8), but I'm heavily regretting this purchase. This phone does NOT have 4G LTE. It literally took hours to install a mere 32 apps that I selected to install from my other phone. The screen quality looks straight out of 2010. Certain apps barely open at all, and others won't even load the login screen on this phone. As others have mentioned, this phone is also incredibly slow in every regard. Pressing buttons in unresponsive. Apps crash after nothing happening for minutes. You can't even hit the hope button while certain apps are loading, meaning you waste a lot of time waiting for something you may not be trying to get into. The stock keyboard is awful, but I use SwiftKey and that made it more tolerable. Ultimately, this phone has been an incredibly poor spending of $85. I understand it's a budget phone. But unless you know the specs, you'd think this phone was made in the early 2010s and running a version of Android 4.0. That makes it worse. If you value your sanity, stay away. If you want to do anything besides talk and text, stay away. If you only want to simply talk and text, maybe it'll be fine, but there might be less expensive options out there for that.

Don't even waste your money and then get clipped with a $35 return fee for a phone that is garbage in my opinion I had this phone for all of 6 hours it's unbelievably slow even on internet. There's an issue with the screen that sometimes you can move the apps around from page to page or delete them sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. There's also an issue of the memory only being 8 megabytes you would think that would not be a problem by installing a memory card. The phone would not recognize my memory card from my old phone so that's another issue you may or may not have to contend with. Save yourself the aggravation and just go for a better phone

My first BLU phone would not work that I bought online. I went to my local BB store and the clerks were very helpful. I returned the phone and the return was credited to my account and I bought a better BLU phone the Blu Grand. It turns on and sometimes works, but it is so slow that I cannot call my credit call company to check my last payment, etc, because the dialing pad will not pop up. It can take more than one minute to open an app. Often the phone says that it cannot contact a site or number because of the time out. I don't know if I can return this phone as it is my second one. It's like trying to access the Internet using an 90s dial up modem. I wanted an unlocked phone to take to Europe in October. It was a very bad purchase on my part. Do not buy.

I needed an inexpensive phone for my husband to replace the one my toddler lost. Just needed it to make and receive calls and texts, and maybe use an app or two and access the web. The phone has an incredibly long lag time on most functions, including answering calls. My husband has spent a half hour trying to enter and send a single message, and still not been sure it actually went through. I was not expecting anything amazing for the price, but I was expecting something that would perform the basic functions of a phone for at least a couple of months. This device has utterly failed in that regard.

I never write reviews but this phone is so bad, I want to save someone else from buying this piece of junk! From the beginning this phone was a disappointment. Slow, I don't receive some texts, alarm is not reliable. Freezes all the time and has to be restarted. When connected to the computer, I can't drag files or pictures into it or out of it!!! Pay a little more for a better phone. It's a waste of money!

If you are looking for a reasonably priced phone, keep looking. This phone is so slow to respond, it will literally blow your mind. You will certainly be amazed at how a product like this was approved through BLU's quality assurance department (unlikely they have one). I couldn't even answer a phone call because the screen would stay black until the call went to voice mail everytime. This problem was evident since the day I purchased. Tried to return to Best Buy but they kept trying to "up" me to a $200+ model which I couldn't afford. I contacted BLU customer service several times and never not once was I contacted regarding such a poor product. I had no apps or pictures at all at that point. So finally, I loaded a chess game on it.....you would make a move and literally 30 seconds later it would finally move your piece for you....in slow motion. This phone is a joke folks....heed my warning and run like Hades from this product or you will go back to reread my review later and wish you had listened. Im not just giving a bad review to trash BLU.....Im telling you the absolute truth.
