There is a reason why this mic has been the standard for gaming and content creation for about 10+ years now. I've tried both the Elgato Wave 3 and the HyperX Duocast mics, and I was dissatisfied with both of them. My voice always sounded muffled with those mics, and it was never crystal clear. I also tried the Blue Yeti nano, and it crashed my computer, so I would be weary with that model. However, I recently picked up this original Blue Yeti, and it has blown me away. My voice is crystal clear, loud, and overall just amazing quality. If you want to eliminate background noise, just use NVIDIA broadcast noise suppression, and it will be just as good as an expensive XLR mic. I couldn't be any happier, and I highly recommend giving this one a try!

The mic is very useful for those who are using it for podcasting, or talking to people on chats, and for those inspiring musicians and vocalist. Mic can adjust to 4 different styles. sound is very VERY clear compared to those that uses headset with the mic on it. Basically, sounds like you are talking to someone in real life, face to face. Base of the mic is not shock proof so what ever you hit on the table it will be picked up. May need to buy a shock proof stand. Enough of the specs, for me I game, sing vocals, game commentary. For gaming I mean like talking to people. Sounds really good. Only thing for you gamers is that if you have a clicky keyboard, it will slightly be picked up. I use lowest sensitivity on it. For vocals, it is not bad. Not like those sound you get from your favorite singer but good for those who are beginners or just making music for fun. Great for recording instruments as well. Game commentary or any commentary or podcasting w/e it sounds really nice no disorient sound occurs at all.

Blue Yeti Blackout Edition: Top shelf item and sound pickup is truly incredible, use your gain and windscreen as well as PC settings to control. I had to add further barriers because it's that good. Alas, Now I'll be buying a second one because the USB plug on the mic is "fragile" and becomes a loose (can no longer connect to PC) connection. That is to say that your moving the mic on its pedestal causes the plug-in socket to become larger? And no replacement USB cord can fix that. I even tried adding a tiny piece of tinfoil to no avail. Otherwise an exceptionally good mic with good gain, mute and condenser position (sound) pickup control. Ideal for streamers and Podcasts alike. Just don't move it around much or you'll have $129 paperweight.

It is a good microphone. It is realy easy to use however if you are using this with audacity and the logitech settings are not working i did find that you need to change the input to yeti logitech before it would just say microphone. this mic is good for starting out recording. If you are just using this for youtube discord it is good at that. However i would say that this a good mic for voiceovers as oppose to livestreaming.

I like this microphone. Needed a mic to improve my sound quality for virtual meetings. This mic is a little on the tall side, so may obstruct your view if kept in front of your computer screen/monitors.

I was looking for a major upgrade from my laptop microphone when I'm recording tutorials for Youtube. I came across the Yeti after scouring the internet for reviews. This microphone was within my budget plus provided excellent sound quality. It is easy to setup and I enjoy the various functions the microphone has (for example bidirectional or monodirectional mic recording). Be sure to buy a pop filter and you're all set to record whatever you want!

We bought one for my son to use to make videos for his business, and we went back and bought a second one for my husband to use. The sound quality is excellent and the microphone is simple to use.

I actually paid around $100 when I ended up getting this, but the average price of $150 isn't bad at all either! It comes with a desk stand but also gives you the option of screwing it into a floor stand. Has 4 different settings on the back of the mic. and also features a gain knob located directly above it that you can adjust. On the front of the mic., it gives you the option to control volume levels if you decide to plug in your headphones into it (another cool thing) and also has a mute button. All in all, Ive had this product for little over a year now with no problems at all. BLUE is a great manufacturing company for microphones and this product is amazing, especially for the price. * The volume knob has felt loose since day one but has never fell off. It isn't enough to bother me in particular, but it could be annoying to someone that is picky over small things like that. That's why I decided to rate the 'Craftsmanship' a 4/5. *

I bought this mic to use when making YouTube videos, and it has yet to let me down. The mic works flawlessly on the Mac, and provides an amazing quality. I am new to the audio recording world, and was able to figure things out pretty quick. The only thing missing is a pop filter, which will be my next purchase for this great mic. It also looks great on my desk. :)

I love this microphone! The USB connection makes it so user-friendly, you just need to plug it into your laptop and you're ready to go! I am a college student, so I mainly use it to record for different class projects and for my youtube videos. I love the clear and noise-free sound that it produces. It has 4 different pattern settings that allow you to control which direction you want the mic to pick up sound form so it is also great for podcasts and interviews! The only slight problem is that the side knobs can get loose and the mic starts to bend forward or back, but no worries, just need to tighten them back up and you're set! This microphone was very easy to set-up, and the sound quality is excellent. It's used for live-streaming, and even without a pop filter, the audio is amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone needing a quality mic at a great price.

If you want a great usb microphone for the price, look no further than the blue yeti. The sound is clear and clean. I especially love the multiple settings that it allows you to choose from depending on your surroundings. I use it for my gaming commentaries, vocals in music, as well as intruments. This is definitely the mic for you if you'd like a professional sound while saving up the "big bucks" for something a studio artist/producer would use.

I recently started a YouTube channel and was looking for a decent microphone so my audio would be decent. Beforehand I was using a shotgun mic...which I just found out today wasn't even working on my camera...so that explains the hours of editing audio. I first used this microphone and I was so shocked on how CLEAN the audio was. It captured my voice and there was little to no background noise (old mic picked up the noise of my computer. I would recommend this for anyone doing podcasts, YouTube, and anything that needs decent audio. This product is definitely worth the price tag! This will save my boyfriend who edits my audio so much time!!! Also is has so many modes that can suit almost every need!

This Blue Yeti is excellent. The microphone picks up all sounds very well. It looks like a professional one. It is a hefty device, not some light, flimsy piece of junk but the real deal

I had been using this mic for gaming and video work for about a month. Last night I was moving the mic (nothing major) and the usb cable just stopped working. Some basic testing later confirmed that the data cables inside the cord have gone out. So I figured I would contact the people over at Blue and see what they would do for me since the mic was less than a month old and it seemed silly to return the entire mic for a cheap usb cable. Having dealt with more than my fair share of support teams I was really surprised to wake up to an email from an actual person in my in box. No "do not reply to this email", no waiting, a real live person! After a few quick back and forth emails I now have a cable on the way and cannot recommend this product and company enough.

Blue has a long-standing as one of the leaders in audio performance and this feels like one of the reasons that they deserve that recognition. The Yeti installed easily on both a new Macbook Pro and a new Windows 7 notebook and integrated just like the standard microphones. No weird installation process was required. The fit, finish and feel are all typical Blue quality and the built in base allows for a comfortable, safe-feeling, usable range of motion. There are manual switches for both gain and recording patterns - stereo, omni, cardioid, and bi-directional. All, while barely noticeable for my environment, seemed to offer the pattern that should be expected. The only downside for me was the pop-filter that Blue sells for this microphone seems like an after-thought. It looks good all by itself, but when fitted to the microphone's unique stand it takes away from the look of both the filter itself and the Microphone. Weird considering how much care Blue seems to give to the look and feel of their equipment.
