Posted .Many new products release a new smell upon opening and using right out of the box. This is also true for filter media. Filter fibers can absorb a smell from other materials during the packaging process. This smell and all components involved during our filter production are harmless and non-toxic. Not able to determine any difference

The filters do not show any collection of dust, etc.. air doesn't appear any cleaner or unable to tell if so.

You can watch the filter over the 6 month period turn from white to dark grey. Please know that as the filter continues to work, every pollutant that gets stuck inside that filter is a particle that didn't end up in your lungs for your floor. Air filter controls not working

The directions said to press the center on top to raise and lower the levels but nothing happens when this is done . I tried calling the store but had difficulty getting through similarly company had customer service that was just a recording with no referral number.

Loud clicking noise after two weeks of use

However, at the 16th day mark the purifier began to make a loud clicking noise on all three levels. It was not resolved by unplugging and and vacuuming the outside and there were no foreign objects stuck anywhere inside or in the filters. Very disappointed in the brand and the return policy, no not recommend.

Stopped Working After 10 Months

I have replaced the filter once. It just stopped working as of today (8/25/2021. I know the outlet is fine, as there is night light plugged in as well. Worked well until it didn't.

9 months straight running with barely dirty filter

I wish I had waited. The first one has been running for 9 months straight and the filter is barely dirty. I live in dusty Arizona with a shedding dog, so something must not be right with the thing.

If the unit is making the room stuff, something is up with that unit.

I have a dog and the reno at the time is mostly deconstruction on the other side of the house. My dog has serious separation anxiety at places away from home; so I didn't want to stay at a hotel longer than I needed to. I also didn't think it was going to bother me too much before they start on the floors (which won't happen till 2 weeks later). And yet I woke up every morning with itchy red eyes, heaving and coughing, and tired. I researched a bit, and found that BlueAir's big units are the highest rated purifiers on Consumer Report. I didn't want to spend the big money on air purifiers yet, and I saw this Blue Pure 411 on sale at BB for $79.99. I was hoping it to be fantastic, so I could sleep better. First night using this before bed, I turned this thing on highest for like 4 hours in my bedroom; it was really loud. I turned it down low when I did go to bed; it was quiet, no louder than my CPAP (changed my CPAP filters while at it). Next morning, I woke up without heaving and coughing, but my eyes are still itchy and red. I left it on for the whole work day, got home and slept, and same thing next morning. After the third night, my cough is back, no heaving though. I called my insurance company and asked them to put me in a dog friendly hotel ASAP. I used this for 2 days and 3 nights. I almost kept it to be honest, but I did wind up returning it on the very last day that I could return it. I don't know if my expectations for an air purifier that's regularly priced at $99.99 is too high.

Nearly perfect but...

We sleep better and my allergies seem more under control! I have 2 main issues with this product, the light never dims and it’s difficult to find replacement filters. I have had the unit for 3 months. We have learned to tolerate the light, however, the filter thing is a bummer. I signed up for a subscription through the manufacturer, but is out of stock and gave me a delivery option next month. It’s the middle of allergy season! I really wish Best Buy carried the filters too. My advice- just stock up when you can and prepare for an extra nightlight!
