Q: Is this machine do the same thing as an ozone machine?
A: No, and you do not want to run an Ozone generating machine in your house. Despite what some say, Ozone in a closed environment like a house is bad for you. This item is simply an airborne particulate air cleaner.
A: It is designed to remove the bulk of typical air pollutants (which happens to be around the 2.5 micron) not viruses.
A: at full blast, you can hear it, but its not noisy at all like some other systems. At slow and medium speeds, its rather quiet.
Q: Is the filter a true hepa filter or is it a hepa type?
A: The unit's filter will be less dense than a standard HEPA filter, but it will still capture up to 99% of all particle that pass through it. (For anything to be technically HEPA, it has to hit 60% efficiency). Because of the density of the filter, it will give you HEPA performance without the label.
