Enhanced Review Dustin Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum & Mop: A Game-Changer I was initially skeptical, but we went ahead and made the purchase. Setting up this vacuum was straightforward: unboxing was easy, with only a few parts to attach. Find a good spot for the unit, let it charge, and head over to bObsweep’s YouTube channel for some helpful videos. Once charged, I pressed “Go,” and Dustin began mapping our home. The mapping function is impressive, and the app allows you to label, divide, combine, and create no-sweep areas. While some reviews mention mapping or sweeping issues, we haven’t encountered any problems. Ensure your Wi-Fi router has dual bandwidth capability; otherwise, you won’t be able to control it. If not, mini plug-in units are available to convert a 5GHz signal to a 2.4GHz one, commonly needed for wireless cameras. Dustin is worth it! A minor con is the noise from the self-emptying unit when it docks. It can be startling, especially if it’s near a sleeping area. The noise lasts less than 5 seconds but can wake you if Dustin operates on a schedule. Overall, we’re extremely pleased. We haven’t tried the mopping function and likely never will, so I can’t comment on that. However, we wholeheartedly recommend this product.

We are delighted that Dustin has joined our household! We are long-time bObsweep users/fans; incredibly, they just keep improving. Dustin sweeps quickly and efficiently and is very quiet—except for a brief time when he empties his own dustbin. Just when you think it can’t get any better, he also mops! The bObsweep app is great and it is very easy to use. What’s not to love? Welcome home, Dustin!

So I bought Dustin when it went on sale a couple weeks ago. It is my first ever robot vacuum and I was somewhat skeptical of the discount amount for a $1000 product. I was also excited to be possibly getting an amazing product for really great value. It was a fairly easy setup process, make sure that the sweeper is pushed down in place all the way. I made the mistake of not attaching it correctly. Let Dustin map out your whole home and make sure you move things the way you want them to be when you set it out to mop and/or vacuum. I have 3 maps so far all with different permissions for the vacuum. Pros: really premium feel, easy connection and app interface. Cleans fairly well. We have a GSD and her hair is EVERYWHERE. Decent battery life. Cons: gets stuck pretty often, I want to be able to just let it do its thing but I find myself watching it and making sure I’m there to help it. Kinda defeats the purpose I know. The mop feature is meh. Just kinda drags along. Overall I give the vacuum a 4/5 and look forward to future updates. Apparently this is a new model for bObsweep.

Well, the technology has gotten so much better since my last bObsweep. I was impressed with the company’s customer service and design of my prior bObsweep (pet hair version), but the battery had run out after four years, which is average from what I read for robot vacuums. Was able to upgrade to the Dustin. Set up was easy, and most impressively, the mapping/“seeing” function is really neat. On the app, you are able to label and delineate rooms, as well as put no sweep zones. The robot is efficient, very silent, and unlike older models, does not just randomly bump around. Dustin knows exactly where to go, has no trouble finding his docking station and emptying. Scheduling and customization easy. The only suggestion so far I have is that the roller brush is not as intelligently designed as my old version and the ends don’t come off so you can slip off wound up hair.

Over the last eight years, I have owned 4 different robot vacuums (Neato, Samsung, Dyson and now Dustin). Each one has its own benefits from previous products but Dustin is by far the most advanced and works flawlessly. Dustin is also in the right price range. My house is a single story approximately 3200 square feet home with hard floors. On Dustin’s first run, he was able to map the entire house and still have battery left over. The app works well and allows you to control Dustin from your phone for spot cleaning. I haven’t had to empty Dustin’s bin yet because he has a large storage bag. Dustin is able to find his home without help and hasn’t gotten stuck under and furniture. I have only used the vacuum feature so far but am excited to try his mopping capabilities.

I used to think adulting meant spending my weekends vacuuming—then DustIn rolled into my life. Now, while I sip coffee and pretend to be productive, this little robot zooms around, picking up pet hair, crumbs, and whatever mystery dust my family tracks in. It dodges furniture like a pro, never complains, and actually listens when I schedule cleanings (unlike my kids). Battery life? Solid. Suction power? Impressive. Overall? 10/10, would let it take over my chores again. If you’re on the fence, just get one—you won’t regret it!

So we've been able to run Dustin a few times and I'm amazed. Watching the map of our main floor generating was really fun, was really impressed it could get over the transition from living room to kitchen and switched from hardwood to the rugs easily. It even was able to get behind the couches. Being able to set it to run daily really makes keeping up with the floors a cinch.

This thing is so freaking cool. I was looking for a self emptying robot vacuum and mop and I’m so happy I found this one! Once connected to WiFi, it automatically maps your home and you can select areas you don’t want it to mop and/or vacuum through the app. It’s definitely a huge upgrade from my previous robot vacuum at a similar price point. I have a lab mix that sheds like crazy (iykyk). Now my floors stay clean and relatively hair free ◡̈

I wasn’t sure if a robot vacuum would be worth the investment, but Dustin has completely won me over. His sleek, modern look blends right into my home, and the fact that he’s so quiet while working is a major plus. What really stands out is his smart navigation – he quickly memorized the layout of my home and moves around with purpose. The app feature is also super convenient, letting me block off certain areas with just a few taps. The suction is powerful, effortlessly picking up all the dirt and debris I didn’t even realize was there. Plus, his battery lasts longer than I expected, and I barely need to empty the dustbin. All in all, Dustin has been an incredible addition to my household, making cleaning less of a chore and more of a breeze.

Welcome to our family Dustin! Having Dustin warms my heart. He allows me to accomplish other things while Dustin works diligently to keep the floors vacuumed. I use our central vac for the deep vacuums in between Dustin's jobs. What a way to efficiently manage time and multitask. I tell Alexa to start him and away he goes to complete his mission. I am obsessed with keeping my home in order and Dustin saves me time to do other things. We have 2 hounds and it really helps me keep the hair under control. He works methodically, completes his job, returns to his docking station then self empties. I find that compressed air is helpful to keep his filters and "body" dust free. We purchased another one for upstairs after discovering how convenient he is. The app is easy to navigate and helps me monitor his performance so l know if there is an issue like he's stuck, sensors are dusty, etc. The bags are super easy to change. My only regret is that I didn't find him sooner!

The bObsweep Dustin Vacuum and Mop continues to amaze me. I bought it for a vacation home solely because of the great price. Since we don't actually live there and it wouldn't be used hard, I purchased it because of the great sale price. It was easy to set up, very detailed on the mapping, and it works great. Recently, after a long day of family cookie baking with lots of small kids, I ran the vacuum and mop. I was so surprised at how well it cleaned. Now, I'm buying a second one for my home and replacing another more popular brand. Very impressed!

I like the both the vacuum and mop features. It does a great job on both carpet and hard floors. The battery lasts a long time and saves me time when it comes to cleaning my floors. I really appreciate my great helper. So you just sit and relax and you let your helper do the work.

I think Dustin is a great product but it did have some flaws. Those will probably be addressed with software updates. Dustin did have issues with stairs. I got 2 errors, edge sensors and a wheel caused. Also when in turbo mode and a stairs error was encountered restarting Dustin the Turbo mode did not turn back on. I seemed to have more issues with the IOS app than the Android app. However, the issues were corrected with an update to the apps. Both seemed to require a little time after opening to get data maybe from Dustin before it was ready to use. One time I got a Localization error on the IOS app. I also got a map not loaded on the IOS app. Using the Android, it told me that Dustin was off line but when I went to check he was cleaning away. One of the nice features of a Lidar vac is the creating of a map of the floor. I did have an issue with how the map was created which I don’t think is attributed to either flavor of app. I had one map that was created on a 10-15 degree angle rather than going NSEW. This caused an issue with setting no sweep zones. They need to give the app the capability to rotate the no sweep zone block. The app does allow you to have a no sweep lines but then you need to make 4 lines if you want to create a square. Let’s talk about the mopping feature. I really don’t think this type of vac should be used for mopping. This is my second vac with the mopping feature and they both seem to work that same way. Not great. With Dustin I could see streaking on the floor and it didn’t seem to distribute the liquid evenly to the pad. It also didn’t seem to notice that it had a pad on as it appeared to have that vac sucking. Another vac I had did not have sucking going at the same time and it also recognized that it had a mop attached. I didn’t see that with Dustin. Also, I couldn’t tell if the liquid was running out and stopping that vac to refill caused Dustin to start over from where I stopped him. I would suggest that you clean a few rooms at a time. bObsweep did not have a Dustin support page. I used the PetHair SLAM instructions but it didn’t cover Dustin. I like their support page as it contained videos which are much better than written instructions. I also really liked that you could save up to 3 different maps. This way you could have a 2 story house and you could have a map of the 1st floor and the 2nd floor.   So, what’s my conclusion? I really like the vac. It’s been working well on my 2nd floor cleaning the carpeting. I like self-emptying feature that cleans out the dust collector in the vac. My other vacs made me do that. The maintenance on this vac is in par with the other vacs I have. The mopping feature is just so-so and on par with my other vac with that feature. So I would recommend this vac but I wouldn’t count on it for mopping your floor.

I was surprised at how good this works. I was skeptical that it would work at all, but saw that it was on sale and decided to give it a try. My house is mostly all on one floor, but has different levels and has carpet, hardwood, tile and linoleum. Once Dustin learned it's to map the house, it can clean 5 rooms-6 rooms in about 40 minutes. I continue to be impressed with how well it works, how much time it saves me and how neat my floors are. I have two short hair dogs that used to leave a deposit of hear each day. My floors are nice and clean and easy to maintain. The only problem that I had was the brush falling off, but fixed that with a small piece of paper to make it fit more snug and it hasn't fell off since.

I’ve been a fan of this company from day one. They never disappoint and their customer service is second to none. Dustin has been a welcome addition to my Bobsweep family. I currently have the Slam and Vision and like to use them all in separate areas of the house. Dustin completes the set as it wasted no time in mapping and cleaning the house. You can tell right away there’s more power and it’s picking up more than the Slam. After having the Slam, I was hoping they’d release a self emptying unit. I’m so glad it finally happened. We have 2 cats and 1 dog and running this everyday really makes a big difference. The house has never been cleaner, we don't have to vacuum everyday which has given us time back. Thanks to the Bobsweep team!

This little robot is affordable and efficient. I loved mine so much I bought a second one for the upstairs floor. I set it to run an hour before I get home from work, and when I arrive the floors are free from cat litter and cat hair, the two most annoying cleaning problems I battle. This thing is fun to watch, the cats love it, and it's not needed any care whatsoever in the first 45 days I've had it. It even came with a few replacement parts and extra bags I haven't needed yet. I don't use the mopping feature on mine at this time because I have hardwood floors with area rugs, but the vacuum is a game changer. It's got 3 settings so if you need it to run quietly while you are home, that's an option. It goes around furniture and you can set "no vacuum" zones if you want, or do spot cleans in small zones.

Dustin mapped and vacuumed all 2400 sqft of our home in one run. Once home was mapped, adding labels and no vacuum zones was easy. Using Dustin to do only certain areas or on a schedule is great. Dustin is super quiet and very efficient. We highly recommend Dustin.

Our little chore robot Dustin the self emptying robot vacuum has been then best adoption that our family has ever done. Dustin cleans up all the floors every time we ask him to and without any hesitation. He always cleans every room and never takes any shortcuts. He will even clean the floors when we are not home if we contact him through his app. The only thing that we have to watch out for is that he likes to look out the sliding glass door and is trying to figure out how to get outside so we have to make sure that the door is closed when he is working

Our BobSweep has won the MVP in our house! He shows up to work every morning on time and ready to work. He tirelessly vacuums the floors and if he gets tired he’ll take a break, recharge his batteries, then finishes the job. Bob is also very courteous too. Unlike other robot vacuums, as he’s preforming his work he keeps the noise at a minimum so you can carry on your conversation without yelling. Bob’s a keeper. As long as he doesn’t drive out of the house we’ll keep him forever!
