Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the excellent cleaning performance, particularly how well the mop reaches edges, and praise its ease of setup, relatively quiet operation, and strong suction power. Many also appreciate the comprehensive accessories included and the convenient auto-emptying feature. However, some users found the app functionality tricky initially, and there are concerns regarding its object avoidance capabilities and navigation issues over time.

Works great but had some trouble with mapping and the sensors. Sometimes pops error codes in the app with no explaination and cleans in rooms that are labeled 'no sweep' rooms. Otherwise good product for general cleaning in between deep cleans.

I have had this for about a month now and use it everything other day! It works so good, it vacuum and mopes my whole house. I set it to go when I’m at work and I come home to clean floors. I have a lab that sheds and it picks up the hair no problem.

Solid vac but a bit on the pricey side

Setup was incredibly simple—basically just unbox it, remove a bit of tape, and let it get to work. Download the app, get it connected, and tell it to map your home. Mapping takes 20 minutes or so. You could start editing the map at this point if you wanted, but I’d tell it to vacuum everywhere at least once (preferrably two or three, imo) before editing. Once it tweaks the map after a cleaning run or two, then go back and edit the rooms. Editing the rooms is fairly simple, once you figure out what the icons mean in the app. It would be better if they also included text on the editing icons so you could easily tell what each icon is for. Not a major deficiency, but an opportunity to improve the app. Performance is impressive, especially when it comes to the extendable mop arm. This is a great feature because it actually gets right up against the baseboards, which most robot vacs just don’t handle well. This capability is probably a significant reason for some to help justify the premium price. Generally, the sound level is quite low as well and doesn't have a huge impact on conversations or watching TV. One of my biggest complaints so far would be the navigation in tight spaces. It sometimes struggles just a little bit to find its way out of some spaces. It has consistently gotten stuck in a smaller space between the toilet and a wall. Furthermore, I didn’t receive any pop-up notification on my phone that it had gotten stuck. It’s possible that I missed something in the app setup, but this hasn’t been an issue for any other robot vac I’ve had. The biggest hesitation I have is the price. It's definitely on the pricey side, and at this higher end of the market, you really have to ask if the value is there compared to some slightly less expensive models. If you’re adamantly against manually cleaning the 2-3 inch border around your baseboards, it’s a solid choice, but casual users might want to look for something a bit more budget friendly. Would I recommend it to a friend? It depends. If that friend was looking for something in this price range, yes. If that friend was new to robot vacuum cleaners, I’d probably recommend something less expensive to start out with.

SUMMARY: Offers a good value and cleans well in hard to reach areas, but be prepared to go deep into the App to fit your needs. PRO’S: - Easy to set up, well packaged. - Once you set the App options, does a good job cleaning, including baseboards. - The mop works well. - Easy to see OLED display - Quiet for a robot. - Generous water reservoir for mop. CON’S: - Takes longer to charge (3 hours) than I am used to. MATTER OF TASTE (PECULIARITIES): - The App is both a tad simplistic but with option defaults you need to adjust. - The mop pad tends to fall off with abrupt changes in surfaces (like the mat around my pet’s water bowl). You can set this to be a no clean zone. But… I really want it to clean there! - Gets stuck more often than my other robot. Seems to not navigate as well as the ‘name’ brand. MORE WORDS: I have owned a couple of the ‘name’ brand robots, and they were/are reliable, navigate well, but tend to be expensive. And so, if you are looking for more bang for your buck, don’t mind it may be a tad more finnicky, then keep reading. Here is the good news, the bObsweep cleans as well, and in some cases better (base boards) than my name brand. And it was as easy to set up and get going, though the battery tends to take more time to charge. Other positives are that the bObsweep is relatively quiet (for a roaming vacuum cleaner), the App is easy, and the water reservoir is large. Okay, I did say finnicky. I find I had to pay attention to it. For all robots you need to pick up the floors of socks and such, this one wasn’t worse, but it did seem to have a particular taste for cords. And I found the mop tended to fall of once every few runs until I programmed no clean zones. It tended to get stuck more than my name brand. Not a lot, but enough to notice. The App, is a love it or hate it thing. It is relatively simple, but the defaults are all set to safe settings. I had to boost the cleaning setting and tell it to clean edges (which it does well). BOTTOM LINE: It is bargain priced but feels full featured. Because of the options, might be better for those that know what they want, owned a robot before, than someone’s first robot. PRO TIP: Pay attention when the mop piece falls off. Probably a bump and it will fall off again. Set a no clean zone there. BONUS PRO TIP: Tends to go on sale often.

Wonderful product. It cleans extremely well. Only complaint is having to connect the vacuum to a network to use the app. It would be much simpler if it would connect through Bluetooth.

The bObsweep Maxim All-In-One Robotic Vacuum & Mop arrived perfectly packaged in brand new condition. Once unboxed, the Maxim was easy to assemble and set up for use. Once plugged in, the Maxim started working immediately even though not fully charged and although I had not yeat downloaded or setup the bObsweep application telling the vacuum how and what to sweep. It was ready and raring to go! bObswep has its own smartphone application used to control the Maxim vacuum with settings to dry sweep or wet mop. The Maxim uses Lidar to map the floors to be swept or mopped and has an object avoidance camera that seems to work quite well. The only issue I had on the first run was entanglement in a shoe lace in it's way. The Maxim empties the vacuum of dirt and dirty water when it returns to the charging base for a recharge. It requires users to empty the dirt filter bag and dirty water container. Distilled or soft water is ralways ecommended for use in the Maxim as hard water may damage the vacuum over time. The bObsweep Maxim comes complete with 2 mopping pads, 2 scrubbing pads, 2 edge-reach side brush arms (1 for immediate use and 1 as a spare) as well as 2 full cleaning solution containers. The bObsweep application allows users to designate "No Sweep" zones. With "Floor Sense" on, Maxim detects carpets and lifts it's mops automatically. Users can also designate "No Mop" zones using the bObsweep application. If the Maxim vacuum cannot complete sweeping/mopping a large area before a recharge is needed, it will pick right up where it left off after returning to the chargting base and being recharged. After each cleaning session, the Maxim automatically returns to the charging station, empties its dust bin and begins a deep clean cycle, rinsing the cloth mop pads with heated water and detergent. At this time the user should empty the dirty water container and refill the water and detergent containers. The charging station with dry the mop pads while it recharges the Maxim vacuum. A swith to quiet the dring operation is available in the bObsweep application. Overall I rate this new bObsweep Maxim All-In-One Robot Vacuum and Mop 5 stars! It was easy to set up, very automatic to use and the bObsweep application easy to set up. The vacuum does a great job while being unobtrusive and almost entirely automatic.

Not the Smartest Robot Out There....

Having a house with all hardwood floors is quite a chore to keep them constantly clean and void of dirt and debris. I have been using another brands Robot for over a year and have been pretty satisfied with it, despite it being a bit louder than I would like. So I was excited to try out the bObsweep variation of a AIO robot vacuum and mop. Unboxing was fun, I appreciate the little "birth card" you get for your robot, I thought it was a cute touch. Everything you need to get started with the robot is included, including two different mop pads, 2 boxes of cleaning solution, extra edge brushes and filters and the roller. Setting up the robot was quite easy and intuitive. After unboxing it and having it charge on the dock for a little bit, it was time to have it map the house. This process took about 20 minutes and it did miss a room which was annoying. But, according to the app, Maxim will update its map as it cleans, but the problem was, it still never found that room. That however, was the least of my concerns. The app and cleaning abilities of this robot is where I believe it fails. Cleaning.... I really had high hopes for this unit. It is extremely quiet, sleek, but dumb as rocks. Even after turning on the extra settings on in the app to enable its camera so it doesn't eat cables or run into things it should not, the robot CONSTANTLY gets stuck. It is always eating cables, getting stuck on rugs and flipping over, getting stuck under dressers when it clearly can get in and out, and then the cleaning quality itself of the mopping is not great. It left behind streaks galore and my floors had just straight vertical lines that dried that I had to manually clean myself. The app is terrible. It is so ugly, whoever designed the UI needs to be fired. It is hard to navigate, it is hard to use because nothing is labeled, its just garbage. I really wanted to love this product but I can't in good faith give it a good rating. Especially at its MSRP. I will stick to my other not to be named robot vacuum as that one, while louder, at least it is able to clean my house without streaks, and without damaging all my cables and getting stuck at every run.

Powerful robot vacuum, decent option for the price

At this point I've owned a range of robot vacuums, from the very cheep ping-pong style that just bounce around the room until it's "clean" to the much more intelligent ones that can sweep, mop and even identify what it is in their path in order to not just avoid it but mark it on a map (some of those are smarter than others). I would place this vacuum near the latter, so lets get to it. Packaging: The box it comes in is reasonably\ heavy, with the robot itself, base station and accessories, there's a lot jammed in the box. Unboxing is straightforward, remove some plastic, the bag around the unit, some literature, etc. Nothing too special here. Setup: Setup consists of attaching the side brushes, the mopping heads, putting hte cleaning solution in the base and putting the bag in the base. Again, mostly straightforward, you can decide which mop head you prefer Use: As with all robot vacs, it takes some time to learn the area including where carpets are. Once completed it can perform it's normal cleaning cycle, it's intelligent to the point of raising the mop heads when it reaches carpet. I will say the object avoidance isn't great. I'm sure this is something that can be fix in a software update and hopefully it is, but while the cleaning capability is decent and it goes in normal tracks, it seems to run into an inordinate number of things compared to other smart vacuums I've owned. In addition, I'm not the biggest fan of the circular style mops, since they do not carry a water tank with them in essence from the moment they touch the floor they are dirty, other styles I've used and have seen carry clean water with them to refresh the roller or mop as they mop. My entire first floor is hardwood so I cant imagine it's doing anything but pushing around dirty water on the floor. What I really love is the strong vacuum suction. Having owned many, it's good to have one that has true suction behind it to make sure it gets up pet hair and other annoyances. Overall: Nice vacuum with strong suction, needs a software update for better object avoidance. The mopping feature while nice to have leaves some things to be desired, especially if you intend to mop large areas.

I have used robot vacuums for years. Most of the ones I have used that worked as advertised are the ones who vacuum only and who just work. This is my first comprehensive robot vacuum which combines the usual vacuum features along with a "moist" floor cleaning system. OPENING EXPERIENCE Finally! A product with print on instructions that are readable without a magnifying glass. There is even a user's manual that looks like a soft cover book. The unit is packed well with box numbers. Unfortunately in the instructions, no box numbers are referenced for what you need to install so you end up emptying them all regardless if you really need it. The parts are numbered in the instruction book, but not numbered anywhere else that I could see. I ended up reverting to observing the parts and installing them without the book - the "moist" pad description/installation guide made no sense nor was there an explanation of why one type is pre-installed (even though the instructions led you to believe you had to install one with the velcro). Install the app and watch the videos and that will help resolve the manual lack of clarity. OPERATION I drove my vacuum through the app and started to wonder why this "complex" device underwhelmed in operation time. My simple units could run for an hour (though I would stop them to check the debris bin at half an hour). This machine would repeatedly run no more than 16 minutes (usage data in the app) and then ----- the horror ----- the vacuum would go back to the dock and produce noise like a cheap stand up vacuum to suck up the dirty liquid and physical debris. This was annoying the first time. That noise became a usage assessment of whether or not I wanted to use any further. WEAKNESS I understand that these type of vacuums are quirky and get stuck sometimes. I have enough experience in my home that it is not a vacuum trap years ago. The simple ones don't get stuck or trapped. This thing found new places to stop. And I have yet to find any way to "find" the vacuum to activate an alert. I found hunting for where this vacuum decided to act up an additional reason questioning why I have this. Oddly the constant issue was the "moist" circular pad things that somehow become dislodged. The vacuum stops and your app tells you so. But it doesn't activate a beeper on the vacuum and you end up on an expedition with a flashlight to see where it decided to puke a pad (complete with support and male part that goes into the vacuum). Oddly, there was no consistency in where the puking would happen (3 pukes in 5 operation usages). This lack of confidence on a complete operation compounds the other irritating factors on this. OUTCOME I'm not sure this vacuum performs any better than a cheaper/simpler unit. It is a great idea to combine wet and dry functionality, but the obvious weaknesses in operation make the unit less than desirable. At this point, I'm more likely to revert to the older and simpler unit for daily use and then to use this once per week afterwards. FUTURE OPERATING CONSIDERATIONS The dry debris storage has a bag like an old vacuum, not some drawer that you can dump. There is one additional bag in the box, but you are going to have to buy more to make this thing usable in the future. Also the cleaning solutions will need to be purchased. The box comes with two bottles. So after initial use, you have one left when the first empties. Cleaning solution replacement cost $16.99 and dust bag $10.99. Prices from manufacturer website.

A Truly Capable Game-Changing Robot Vacuum

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The bObsweep - Maxim All-in-One Robot Vacuum & Mop brings a whole new level of automatic cleaning to our home. I’ve been using robot vacuums since the first ‘bumper-car’ models hit the market. The first product wasn’t smart and offered basic functionality as it went around repeatedly bumping into objects and adjusting its course till it found a path. And yet, it did a decent job of basic vacuuming as it blundered along, and that’s what sold me on the concept. A few years later and the robot-vacs began to map out the space and/or add cameras and sensors to try and improve performance and flexibility. The problem with some of those is they tried to be too smart for their own good. After a disastrous experience with an early ‘smart’ vac (cameras so you can see and talk thru it | sensors to keep it from obstacles | mixed attachments for different tasks | etc.) I went back to the slightly-smarter bumper-car version. The disaster of the ‘smart’ vac was it was so sensitive it was afraid to go anywhere that wasn’t an open space area. Basically, it would act like a neurotic pet that’s always shaking and jumps at anything that moves. Slowly I’ve watched the ‘bumper-car’ versions improve: mapping out a space, using an app to give you control and the ability to send it to the specific area you want cleaned. This has been great. Unfortunately, as they sought to add the ability to mop an area as well, that reintroduced problematic complexities. The need to manually change attachments and mapping and liquids sent me back to the basic machines once again. The bObsweep - Maxim All-in-One Robot Vacuum & Mop is a game-changer for me. Someone has finally come up with a robot vacuum that delivers on the promises. This is an early review as I’ve only had the Maxim for a week, but I am thoroughly impressed. It offers so many features that I’ve not yet explored them all. However, what I’ve seen so far has been truly great. I should add that, along with it having many features, bObsweep has also made the wise (and practical) choice not to go with cameras that can be accessed by an app - or anyone else. Functionality, not impressive tech, seems to be the goal - thankfully. Set up was straightforward and easy. I was surprised and impressed with the full-color, display-book, quality of the manual. And the app is not only clean, functional, and helpful - it includes a large number of well-done tutorial videos in the support section. Impressive again. After setting up the station, filling the tanks, and letting the Maxim charge for 3 hours, it was ready for use. I chose to have it go through the Quick Map process for each room, but it’s not necessary. Quick Map mode sends it out to use its radar and build a quick map of an area without doing any cleaning. Once an area has been mapped, you can send it out to clean. If you don’t do a Quick Map in advance it’ll simply build its first map while it completes its first cleaning. In retrospect, I should have just done that because I made it a bit more complicated than needed. My past experiences with others caused me to doubt the capabilities of the Maxim. I was wrong. I did the same thing when I spent time editing the maps to manually tell it where to mop and where not to mop. Only later did I realize it automatically detects rugs and does not attempt to mop them. So now, who’s the smart one? Another helpful feature: Our ground floor space has one transition between areas that cannot be crossed by a robot vacuum. This posed a challenge at first when I tried to see if I could put down a temporary ramp for it to use. Eventually, I found that a better solution was to use its ability to be used on multiple floors as a solution. For instance, if you have a 2nd floor, you can pick up the Maxim and set it down at the start of your upper floor, do a quick-map, and then send it out to clean. When finished, it will come back to where it started so you can pick it up and return it to its base station. I used this approach to my problem and it worked great. After cleaning, Maxim returns to its base where it not only recharges, but offloads any dirt and liquids to the base station - and then it cleans and dries the mop (if needed)! Woah. A robot-vacuum offering all that the Maxim offers is not going to be cheap. But, in my opinion, the bObsweep - Maxim All-in-One Robot Vacuum & Mop is worth it. I have also seen some great prices on it via once-a-year ‘tech day’ sales. A truly capable game-changing robot vacuum.

I REALLY like it! I've owned many of these robot mop vacs over the years, the ones that were pretty new to the game and did just the basic things, and the very expensive high-end names that have all the bells and whistles. I hadn't considered this brand, which was unfamiliar to me until fairly recently, until they released this model. Prior to that, I'd thought they might be more of a bargain brand, and probably not on par with the big names (Tyson, anyone?) as far as build quality and functionality. When I looked at this one, I said to myself, WOW, they make a unit in that price range? I can confirm that yep, it does allll 'the things' as to be expected. It vacuums, it mops (hot), it sweeps, it maps the house, docks and empties itself, app connects (etc.). I'm giving it 4 stars because what stands out to me is the fact that it really DOES reach into the corners and gets all the dustbunnies that my home accumulates with pets. It gets all of that up and hasn't shutdown because of a tangle yet in three weeks. It really DOES keep the baseboards looking clean and it really DOES keep the floor area around my pets' feeding areas clean. I think that if I had to choose again before getting the other brand, I'd go with this one. It is heavy, and I'm hoping it doesn't start disconnecting from wifi over time for no apparent reason as I've experienced before. Time will tell, but I do recommend giving it a shot. It has a super premium look to it, slim, blends into the kitchen. No louder than any other type, and quieter than a stick vacuum. Can't comment yet on how often replacement pads will need to be purchased, but I only run it 2-3 times per week. Now, if they could only figure out how to make these things climb stairs....

This robotic vacuum comes well packaged and it had a simple instruction manual, a large glossy book and the app. It did take me some time to get it set up but the instructions were just excellent. It has a clean water tank and a dirty water tank along with a chamber to add the floor cleaner. I a, not a fan of using a floor cleaner and I worried about the smell since I am very sensitive to smells. But when diluted with the water, I didn’t smell anything. The vacuum first mapped the house. Of course with these types of vacuums, you need to remove obstacles on your floors, like paper, clothes or cords. I also removed several scatter rugs. My house is all one level with tile floors throughout. I happen to own many robotic vacuums since I have several house and I found this vacuum to be just excellent. My tile floors looked just fabulous. Some robotic vacuums wander all over the house and it is confusing to know if they have cleaned but this vacuum went back and forth and systematically washed the floors. The app that has the map could use some refinement since it didn’t allow me to label my rooms and since I have an open floor plan, my living room, dining room and main kitchen are all one room. But this device did such a good job cleaning that this is a minor detail. My house now looks like it has been professionally cleaned!

As the title suggests, this is a really great all-in-one robot vacuum and mop. It was super simple to setup. It comes with a very large laminated "Get Started" guide that walks you through the entire process from end to end. It also comes with a full printed instruction booklet which is a rarity nowadays and very much preferred, at least for me. It also comes with an extra brush, an extra mop pad, extra cleaning solution, and extra filter bag for the base meaning you will be able to use it for a bit before having to get more accessories. It was also really easy to setup via the app. Within 10 minutes of opening the box, I was ready to go with a mapping run. It also completed its mapping run fairly quickly, maybe 10 minutes or less and was then ready to clean. It has really powerful suction and picked up all the dust and debris on my floors. In addition, it cleans in a logical and organized pattern, expertly detecting carpets and area rugs to it avoids mopping them. Overall, this is a really great robot mop and vacuum and I highly recommend it!

The bObsweep MAXIM is an "almost completely" superior to competitors Robot Vacuum & Mop. It excels in performing almost all desired functions; however, it does not excel in one area -- Mopping. Addressing the products only weakness (mopping performance) first, I found it did not remove stain spills on my tile floors -- that any manual mopping would remove in seconds. The problem was that it applies the clean water with the cleanser soap provided as a very fine mist. The tile floor never gets wet enough. This Robot mist is fine for a "lick and a promise" touchup on tile floors (again, tile floors that are predominantly clean), but it is unsatisfactory for removing (via its mopping) spill stains. Outstanding ATTRIBUTES: Ease of setup, ease of use, absolutely superior vacuuming, mapping ability concomitant with being able to direct the Robot to vacuum in specific areas and to establish "NO GO" areas, or avoid a specific small area. Ability to control the vacuum's power, via the app, from gentle, to moderate to strong (full power) or anywhere in-between. Similarly, the strength of the mopping function is controllable via the app -- with the caveat that max strength was still not adequate for complete spill stain removal on my tile floors. During the initial setup, the brilliant design was immediately apparent. The Charging station Dirty water, and Clean water tanks are easily lifted, removed, filled or cleaned. The water tank handle on top of each tank requires only mild lift, and the tank covers are hinged with wide openings and visible max levels. The small CLEANSER tank is conveniently located and easily accessed with easy opening/closing cap. The RAMP for the Robot to position itself for entry to the Charging station snapped on in 2 seconds. I pushed the GO button and the CHARGE button and the robot docked in seconds and began charging with audible confirmation. In 2 hours the steady Charge light was on and the APP let me know it was 100% chargesd and ready to go. I selected Mapping Only (no vacuuming nor mopping) for the 1st use and in approximately 45 minutes my rooms were mapped with a visual display provided via the App. The App installed easily and is absolutely superior to competitor Apps that I have been using for years. The Robot returned to the Charging station as "it" determined necessary and then resumed where it had left off. Once mapping was complete, I selected vacuum only and GO from the app. I was able to watch the Robot vacuum every square inch of my floors via the visual from the app on my smart phone. The floors were displayed and the color of the areas (as they were vacuumed) changes. I could glance at the Robot, then see its progress on my phone's display. When vacuuming completed, and the Robot docked and charging, I removed the front cover of the Charging station and removed the vacuum bag (5 second process). It had a sliding cover to close as a prevention from allowing any dust or debris to escape. I went to my trash receptacle, slid the bag cover to open and emptied the vacuumed debris with ease. In less than 30 seconds I had slid the cover of the bag to open and placed it back in its tracked position. Again, well designed ease of use. I also removed the whirling brush and the filter just to see if it would be easy. I loved being able to remove the mopping pads in seconds as they magnetically attached. It couldn't have been easier. I have owned Robot vacuums of 3 competitors and one floor washing Robot over the past several years. I can state without qualification, overall, the bObsweep Maxim was the best performing, and easiest to use!
