I had to switch to unscented detergent because Cascade and other "lemon fresh" scented detergents overpower the dishwasher when completing any cycle. My previous LG and Kitchenaids never had this issue. There's no option for a "second rinse" either. I wouldn't buy this unit again, I'd sacrifice a little better reliability with poor rinsing performance (and possibly having detergent on your dishware).

1. Make sure the dishwasher filter (located at the bottom) is cleaned regularly. To learn how to remove it, refer to your owner's manual. To remove debris, wash it with soap and a soft brush under running water.
2. Make sure there is enough space between items when loading. Ensure that the spray arms can move freely after loading the dishwasher.
3. Add rinse aid. Review your owner's manual to learn how and where to add rinse aid. Rinse aid helps water droplets slide off dishware so water marks can't be seen.
4. Clean your dishwasher's spray arms. Make sure there are no blockages in the holes by running it under water. To remove debris from the holes, use a toothpick.
5. Run a dishwasher cleaner through the dishwasher (Finish dishwasher cleaner, or Glisten Dishwasher Magic can be used).
6. Make sure you are using the appropriate amount of detergent per the instructions.

No one seemed to be able to give me an idea as to how often salt would need to be added. Plus the store got the Bosch Model 500 back in stock

They won’t do anything for us or answer my calls.

All hardware was missing

Bosch dishwasher does not work

Hot temperatures - Quiet compared to my previous dishwasher Cons: - Poor utilization of space - Bottom Utensil tray takes up too much space. - No sound notification when dishwasher left open. - Buttons feel really cheap. For some weird reason the two buttons you use most, on/off and start are unlighted. Just strange. Why do you even need an on/off button? It's an implied on when you select a load. - Tab catcher/dispenser takes away space from middle rack. - Drying is sub-par - There are no indicators like "rinse" or "drying" phases. The onscreen indicators are strange with legends completely missing in the manual. - Rack pegs and angles seem slightly strange from what I'm used to - Front panel a little flimsy and scratches easily. - Can't select sanitize on speed 60. - Control Panel glitches out sometimes. I knew going into this that this was a bit of a strange Bosch model and entry level no less. But still, this is generally a premium dishwasher at a higher price point than competitors. Overall I'm satisfied with the upgrade but honestly impressed at my cheap (half the price) Whirlpool's common sense implementations that I thought were pretty basic and standard by this point. The utensil bin takes away from space and is a bit strange considering there's also a tray. I really like my old Whirlpool's design of putting the tray mounted on the door as there is a lot of unused space there. I'd go with a 500 model with a larger more useful 3rd rack if they had a water softener, which was the primary reason I purchased this one. Having really hard water meant dishwasher was breaking down and not cleaning effectively. Overall I'm content but somewhat disappointed. I'd advise people to get only if the above issues aren't a deal breaker.
