No idea how the microwave works because BB delivered it with button smashed in. Returned it; purchase a different one elsewhere.

This microwave started out being fine to operate (although the door was crooked and the top piece of plastic trim molding arrived broken, both repaired free of charge). 3 years later, the control panel shorted out and two door latches were broken, both repaired at my expense. 1 year later, the same control panel issue occurred, and latches not working, repaired by Bosch minus cost of labor. By then, the LED lights on the panel were shorting out so that I had to guess at what numbers were displayed. Now, 18 months later, for the THIRD TIME, the control panel shorted out and I’m super frustrated. A quality product should last AT LEAST 10 years without constant repairs of THE SAME defect. By now I call this a lemon. And Bosch customer service is impossible to reach by phone to authorize repairs- by now they should be offering me a new appliance!- My previous microwave (a US brand) lasted 28 years and was only replaced so I could renovate my kitchen. Super frustrated customer-

I purchased this microwave because I love my Bosch dishwasher, and my Bosch vacuum cleaner lasted me for 20 years despite two cats and a dog. There were good reviews about it in general, although not many of them out there. I unfortunately found that this was a big under performer for its price, and I am to this date surprised by good reviews. Now, and OTR microwave has four functions: 1- Microwave: Good overall, but with the most out-to-date user interface. Who, at this time and age, would like to remember, or refer to a cheat card for program numbers?? I mean numbers, you read it correct.. Sensor cook programs go from “Sc-1” to “Sc-9”. That’s what you need to select from the screen. Wow!! Sensor reheats are “Sr-x”. Defrost functions go from dEF-1 to dEF-3. You got the point.. 2 - Lights: Perfect. I have nothing bad to say about these. Bright both inside, and over the range. 3 - Convection: Someone wrote before that convection was a joke. He is 100% correct. I am not talking about “adjusted time for convection” at all. The only way I found this would cook my Brazilian cheese breads is to set the temperature to 25 degrees higher, and to set the baking time to extra 10 minutes. Enjoy.. 4 - Vent: This one was the real deal breaker for me. At 385 cfpm, one of the higher ones in the market, it pulled nothing, nada, not a bit of steam, not a bit of anything. Note: I have it installed in recirculating mode. I called Best Buy, they technician came over, and noted that it did not even pull up a piece of paper. He said he was going to try the same with the floor model. Later in the day he called, and said he had the same experience with that. Hmm.. I called Bosch. Their answer was “it should work”. They recommended me to get a second opinion from an authorized Bosch repair person. OK.. I called one. They were booked till end of next month, as they were dealing with a recall issue. BTW: They are the only ones serving to San Francisco area! One shop for the entire San Francisco. OK.. Just in case, I called another one that handles other places in Bay Area. The gentleman was nice enough to return my call and confirm my worst fears: In recirculating mode, the vent is basically useless. I called Bosch again in a complete disbelief. They were very sorry it did not perform to my expectation, they did not have any particular data on vents in recirculating mode, and they said I should believe the repair person. I am really happy I let Best Buy know about the problems as soon as I tried this microwave. They were excellent in making a note that I was not happy with my purchase, they gave me time to go out there to find something I like, and they promised an exchange or return even if it was over a month, as they understood I spent so much time to find the right answers for this machine. Finally I exchanged it with Kitchen Aid. What a difference. In all of the above, except light, it certainly works as it’s supposed to. Even though vent is 400 cfpm (only 15 above Bosch), it actually works, it holds a paper (I believe contemporary benchmark for OTRs :), and the steam from what’s cooking on the range is pulled just fine.

I had the 500seroes for over 10 years and loved it. It stopped working so I went in to order a new one and the sales person told me they no longer make it and said I needed the &00 because that’s all they make now. I was also told it was the same size. When it arrived I had to have my tile and cabinet modified to make it fit. Finally it was in and ready to use,, but the control panel is horrible!!! Not only does it look cheap but when the kitchen lights are on the reflection is so bad you can’t even see it. I am so disappointed

We've replaced our whirpool otr convection oven with this model and just used it for the convection part once. It seems that the Bosch is not as powerful as the whirlpool. I made fries in it last night and they took quit a bit longer. It also seems to take longer to heat up. I will try it again with coming something else in it to seeif i may have just selected the incorrect temp. If not I may return it. I purchased it specifically for the convection part so if that doesn't work as well as I need it, it's no use to me.

Beautiful 800/Benchmark Series above-range convection microwave, easy to use, though still learning a few control functions and Convection cooking alternative. Powerful 1000 W / 1600W Convection. Bright, stunning interior. Good clear "Use & Care Guide." Bright illumination of cooktop under the microwave. A very nice addition to my kitchen, replacing an older different but common brand with less cooking efficiency.

Well, we decided to replace a contractor grade Maytag appliances stove, oven and microwave. We chose the "recommended" Bosch as well known brand and thinking we were upgrading. Weeeellll, we were wrong. I am quite disappointed in the Bosch Microwave / Convection oven. I would say this was a downgrade in quality compared to the Maytag we already had (still working after 10 years). The display on the Bosch is already gone out after about 2 years. I looked up Bosch's warranty aaaand of course only 1 year. Now I am worried about the double oven and dishwasher and it's Bosch quality and the $4000 we spent in all these appliances. I do NOT recommend this product and I really question the over Bosch quality I will NEVER purchase again.

So very disappointed in this microwave. Bought in 2018 for a kitchen remodel. In 2022 had to spend over $300 to replace control panel. Now 15 months later, the control panel went out again. Very frustrating that I have spent well over $1,000 and do not have a functioning microwave. I attempted to contact Bosch customer service with both issues with only the recommendation to have someone service it. No thank you - I do t spend another penny on this microwave.

I hate to leave a poor review when I just purchased this product but after using the convection feature once (which takes forever), black spots appeared inside. The instruction manual says to heat up a bowl of water to clean but the spots will not go away. I also rubbed too hard and the shiny finish now looks dull. I’m very disappointed that my brand new $700 microwave now has spots that I can’t clean because it’s so fragile. Any advice other than heating a bowl of water????

We purchased this microwave/convection oven a little over three years ago. Something in the control panel broke and now it has to be replaced. The parts and labor cost almost as much as a new appliance. I thought Bosc made more reliable appliances. This should have lasted 10 years at a minimum given how much it cost to purchase. Unacceptable! Do NOT purchase. My mom purchased the range in this same series and had to replace the control panel for the oven $$$$. She uses he oven maybe twice a week. Bosc has some serious reliability issues. Do NOT purchase this line!
