Customers are saying

Customers love the 800 Series dishwasher for its quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance, frequently praising its ability to thoroughly clean dishes. Many appreciate the added convenience of the third rack and the dishwasher's spacious interior. However, some customers note that the unit is shorter than standard dishwashers and that cycles may be longer than expected. A few also mentioned an unpleasant odor.

Coming from a Kitchenaide which was old and regularly shut itself off mid-cycle. This 800 series with integrated softener does a simple spectacular job of cleaning our dishes, with no prescrubbing necessary at all. Further, the dishes come out looking spotless with a shine that I've never seen when using the old dishwasher. Aesthetically, the machine is classy and clean. It is exceptionally quiet, so no complaints there either. I can't really imagine a perceptible difference going down to a 39 DB or 42 DB machine. I don't hear it from the living room. As far as water being left-over goes, I really don't have that problem. Sometimes there is water which pools in the grooves of plastic items, like a Nutribullet blade holder for example, but that isn't the dishwasher's fault. Best Buy delivered it promptly and we performed the install ourselves. Note that you do not need to buy any third party hose-kit or power kit to make this guy work. Bosch supplies everything you need. To that end, keep in mind that the water intake hose has a large valve solenoid at the end of it which necessitated our expanding the passthrough in our cabinetry to the hot water valve. Note that this machine is rigidly engineered and if your cabinetry is off at all, you WILL notice it. That is not the fault of the dishwasher, either.

    Not great unfortunately

Positives: 1 - stainless steel look; 2 - quiet; 3 - no logo on the front, which means that it can be mixed and matched. Negatives: 1 - Poor layout inside – you put in a few items and it’s full; 2 - the third rack, while initially seems like a great feature, actually just eats into dishwasher's already small space; 3 - tall glasses don't fit - they tip over and fall/break, so you won't be able to wash your wine glasses; 4 - the wash cycle is too long: 2 hours 25 min on auto; 5 - the hot drying feature doesn't work. The dishes still have water on them after the drying; 6 - no garbage disposal feature.

Love the look, and it is so quiet. Learning to load it was tricky, especially we never had the silverware rack on previous dishwashers. But, it works!

    Excellent dishwasher

I love this dishwasher. The water softener feature means my dishes and glasses come out sparkling. I use the sanitize setting along with the auto cycle, and it dries the dishes beautifully. I love the top rack and rackomatic features. It took a little experimenting with loading to figure out the best way to do it. But now I easily can load every thing, including wine glasses, and it holds more than my prior full size dish washer. So nice that it’s akso whisper quiet.

    Looks great, fairly quiet

I'm upset with this dishwasher and can't figure out how it gets such good ratings. First, it is difficult to load. Tall things don't fit, bowls don't fit well, glasses fall over. It holds about a third less than my last dishwasher. Worse, things don't get clean! which is the primary purpose of a dishwasher. You have to have a half full load to receive clean dishes. Don't even think about putting pans, cutting boards, or large bowls in here as you will just end up having to do them by hand and run the rest of the load through again. About every fourth load has to be re-run. The company says not to pre-wash dishes, that the machine "senses" how much dirt is there and that is the reason they are not coming clean, because they go in "too clean". Not so. If you put dirty dishes in, they still come out dirty. I've had issues with the detergent not coming out of the dispenser. Also, a film sits on top of all the dishes so they have to be hand-rinsed before putting away. This dishwasher is beautiful but don't be fooled--it doesn't work well. I'm trying to save someone else the frustration we are experiencing.

    noise

Recently bought this model with sound level in mind. We replaced a 17 year old Bosch dishwasher and expected this one to be quieter, it is not. Considering the noise hype in advertising this does not live up to what I expected. Also not happy with the placement of silverware basket, much better on the older model. The basket used to be in the front and now is on the right side making it inconvenient to simply open the door to place silverware. Dishes wash fine, which they should. Should not even be a consideration, it's a dishwasher.

this should be a 300 series not an 800

got it and installed it 1/5/21 i just called bestbuy a few minutes ago to replace it with SHPM65Z55N. this was so bad for the price as it does not even have air dry. this thing only has puredry which does a mediocre job at drying. i ran it 2x the same day and left it till the next morning only to see the tub super wet. it did dry the dishes ok. but u have to keep this thing open to dry out the inside. i do not think this should be considered a 800 series. the top rack does not even open to accommodate smaller bowls like the 500 series. no wonder this was the only dishwasher available for delivery during this pandemic. all the other ones are sold out.. i give it props for easy installation. i only had to drill a bigger hole since hot water inlet i think has a heating insturment attached to it so it wouldnt fit in the old hole.real convenient installation but for 1000 usd. stick with the SHPM65Z55N 500 series. atleast airdry will help at drying. and 3rd rack is more versatile

    Very disappointed

This is supposed to be a ONE OF THE BETTER brands of appliances, but not so. The only good thing is how quiet it is. Dishes do not get clean. I had a Maytag and a Whirlpool before that cleaned like dreams. I have to rinse and rewash half the loads regularly. I always use the full cycles, not the quick. We clean the trap, doesn't help at all. The detergent holder doesn't open every time. I can't recommend this to anyone. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED

    Expensive Drying Rack

At this point, the unit serves as a very attractive, very large drying rack. There seems to be a problem with the water intake. It makes a sad, dry sucking sound but despite the growling, does not appear to be drawing in any water. I've also noticed that there are times when the unit does an amazing job of baking on all food particles to the extent that the morsels form a permanent bond on the plates and dishes.

Surprised to find this $1000 dishwasher did not come with a stainless steel decorative kick plate to cover the gap between the kitchen cabinets and the black industrial thing that is supposed to hold it. Standing it the kitchen it looks terrible. Two emails to customer service got me nowhere
