  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: From floor to the bottom of our counter is a 33 1/2" opening. Will this model fit in there? Thank you!

A: Yes. I originally wanted another brand, (KitchenAid) but our openings were only 32 1/2, so this was one of very few models that would fit. This model fits in the 32 1/2 inch opening, so you should have no problem with 33 1/2".

Q: Does this dishwasher require soft water only

A: Hi there, thank you for your question. The dishwasher does not require soft water, but it does have a water softener included. Once your dishwasher arrives, you will find a kit inside to check the hardness level of your water. Once you determine the hardness of your water, refer to the manual to understand how to set the dishwasher water softener to get the best results. If your already have a house water softener system, then you do not need to use the water softener in the dishwasher.

Q: Is the top rack (for silverware) removable? Seems like many of the reviews indicate that this rack can get in the way of tall and/or wine glasses. Can I remove it and not use it?

A: Jeff Yes you can remove the cutlery drawer or lower the upper rack. Upper rack can be adjusted in 3 height positions.

Q: Can you see and access the controls when the door is closed?

A: Hi Joey. Thank you for your question. The 800 Series Dishwasher, model SGX68U55UC does have hidden controls. You won't be able to see or access the controls when the door is closed. There is a red InfoLight that shines on the floor on the right side under the dishwasher to let you know it is running.

Q: Since this is an ADA compliant dishwasher that has a shorter height than other dishwashers, will it fit into a standard opening of 34"+? Will the Best Buy installer be able to install it?

A: The feet are adjustable so they can be raised as well as lowered. In our case we have a 34" opening with a small strip of wood under the countertop so the installers left a 1/4 inch gap above the front of the Bosch under the counter. Looks fine. The back part of the top of the Bosch has plastic ridges that are taller than the front so that's the only way it can fit. On our old model we had the regular Bosch 34 inch, which was actually 33 and 1/2 inches tall. It fit fine but the new standard Bosch 34" model is 33 and 5/8" tall so it couldn't clear the front of our opening in the cabinet. The ADA was the only solution for us. The only downside is that the inside height of the Bosch tub is 2" shorter than the standard 34" so tall plates on the bottom level means that you have to raise the middle level. So then you can't use taller items on the middle level. Each load is different so you have to plan your load. Other than that its great so far.

Q: Does this Bosch dishwasher have an interior light?

A: Hi Lilybeth. Thank you for your question. This 800 Dishwasher does not have an interior light.

Q: Does this come in fingerprint resistant stainless steel?

A: Hi Be, thank you for your question. Model:SGX68U55UC is not available in fingerprint resistant stainless steel.
