Customers enjoy the 800 Series 24" Pocket Handle Dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance. The third rack and ample capacity are also frequently praised, along with the ease of use and sleek design. However, some customers have noted a lingering odor after use and longer than expected cycle times. A few also mentioned the absence of a heating element as a drawback.

Our old dishwasher was 20 years old, and at the time we bought it it was one of the quiet models of its time. Quiet was essential for us, as was getting dishes clean. They scored big on both counts. The only issue we had was more due to our fault on our first load. We didn't think the dishes were dry. Now when we run it we use both the sanitize and extra dry cycles ( which were actually recommended by the installers). It has great capacity, and the three racks are great. it loads nicely. Oh, did we mention it is quiet? They actually have a red led light that shines on the floor to let you know you have started the dishwasher.

Was looking for a new dishwasher after our Kitchenaid conked out. We had been suffering with a stupid filter design that required daily emptying. We perpetually had a white layer of scum on everything as well. It seems like a growth chamber for bacteria. I was glad when the pump failed and we had to find a new dishwasher until I started looking. The picking are slim for obvious choices that will do the job without problems and without gimmicks (like Samsungs "wall of water"). I looked an looked.... spoke to people. Everything pointed to Bosch. Being close to $1k it was not a quick purchase. We went for maybe 4 or 5 months with no dishwasher at all. Eventually as Christmas rolled around, it was time to bite the bullet and make a decision. The sales associate at our Best Buy was helpful and gave us honest info. He also gave us a bit of a price break which helped to secure the deal. Part of why we went so long without a dishwasher is that I wanted a sale.... only to learn that Bosch really doesn't do sales. In all that time, there was never a sale. Only a free install from BB. Anyway, we choice our model because it has ball bearings in the top rack. Why not the bottom rack too, I'll never know. But this is a big deal because it makes them glide smoother. I wish we could have had the model with the time remaining projected down on the floor but that was too expensive. I like to know how much time is left but I have to open the door to find out. Oh well. The cleaning action so far is great. I realize only now how much effort we were putting in to get clean dishes with the KA. We don't do a thing now and we don't even have to do any kind of daily filter emptying. Woohoo! I thought the 3rd rack might be a gimmick but I actually prefer this to the basket. I lay all the silverware side by side and when I empty the machine, I can grab the handles instead of the tines or blades. THis is nice. Another difference is that this machine doesn't blow lids and plastic container around like the KA. I don't have to empty containers that flipped and I don't have to worry about laying lids on the 3rd rack either. Some people compain about drying. I can understand. Usually when you open the door for the first time, it seems damp. But after a minute it quickly dries out. I believe this is because they figured a different less energy intensive way to dry dishes than having a big heating element in there burning away for 30 minutes. It is more energy conservative which is fine with me. We used to shut off the heat and crack our door anyway to kind of the same affect. I would receommend this model. However, I had to take a star off because even Bosch has subscribed to pinching pennies on the quality of the unit. The handles and racks are just a touch flimsier than I wish.... They cheapened out on the bearings on the lower rack. And I can just tell this is not made to last into my retirement years. After my reserach, I believe that most dishwasher mfrs are making models to be nearly disposable. Its a shame this seems to be the American way. Not perfect but the best out there.

After doing online research and comparing features with other brands, I selected the Bosch 800 series dishwasher. This was a major upgrade from the Kenmore dishwasher. We've had it less than a month. It does a great job cleaning both dishes, Pyrex bowls and stainless flatware. I am impressed with the third tray for cooking utensils. This machine is rated at 42 decibels. It is very quiet compared to the previous dishwasher we had. The only way I can tell it's running is by the light that shines from the bottom right corner of the dishwasher. The only change I would suggest is to have the controls on the front of the dishwasher instead of on the top of the door. I bought this model on sale and so far no regrets. The free installation made the purchase even sweeter.

I had a Bosch dishwasher before and know how quiet they can be, but this one exceeds my expectation. We have a open floor plan with the kitchen next to the family room. You can't hear it running at all other than when it fills water for a few seconds at the beginning. It is that quiet! The only way you know it's running is by the red light on the floor. I had some reservation about dishes not completely dry with Bosch technology. It surprises me with how dry the dishes come out. The only water on anything is things with a little indent which is understandable. Overall this dishwasher is much better than I expected. I am very happy with the purchase. A great buy with free delivery and installation.

I read reviews on pretty much every dishwasher out there and decided to go with the Bosch 800. I wanted a quality product without going overboard on the budget and after reading reviews on tons of dishwashers, the Bosch 800 was a constant 4 to 5 star on every website I looked at reviews for. The dishwasher is very quiet and does an excellent job of getting all the dishes and silverware sparkling clean. I didn't think the 3rd rack (for utensils and other small items) would be useful for me, but it really is great. I use the normal wash along the extra dry setting and all of my dishes are spotlessly clean and dry. This is an overall excellent dishwasher and you won't be disappointed in purchasing it. I also had Best Buy install my dishwasher and haul away my old dishwasher and I was very pleased with their services.

I've been through a lot of dishwashers. KitchenAide was my last. It cleaned well but was very loud in my opinion. This machine is absolutely silent throughout the whole wash! It cleans like no other and I love every thing about it! The adjustable rack is amazing! The two complaints I've read about Bosch dishwashers are: 1. It takes two hours to wash a load. 2. The dishes are not dry. They come out wet. First - yes the regular cycle is long but this dishwasher has options for shorter cycles. Second - if you press extra dry button with every cycle - the dishes come out dry and spotless!!!y MIL only buys top of the line things and she has had a Bosch for over 25 years... still cleans beautifully and it is quiet as a mouse. I highly recommend Bosch!

The difference between this Bosch and the Kenmore that I had is massive. For one, the Bosch is whisper quiet. When we first got it, my 12 year old didn’t know it was running and pulled the door open mid-cycle. She got doused in water. Secondly, there is SO much more room. This dishwasher definitely holds more than my old one, not including the topmost rack. One caveat. There was a horrible, fishy smell at first. We’d gotten this open box, and someone must have used it. We ran a wash cycle using affresh, drained it, hooked it up again, and still that horrible smell persisted. I finally found the culprit. At the bottom of the dishwasher is the filter. It’s attached to a rectangular shaped “door” that lifts off. Pull off the cylindrical metal filter, scrub the filter in warm, soapy water, then reattach. I do this every Sunday, and the washer stays fresh smelling. If I forget to do it, my nose soon reminds me.

We moved into a new house and new dishwasher was noisy and did not have the capacity I was used to with the Boisch dishwasher I had at my old house. I put up with noise for a few months and changed to my new Boisch. Quietest ever! We have open floor plan so quiet running is a blessing. Also, the capacity is noticeably much larger and more functional layout.

    Gets the dishes clean

We heavily researched dishwashers before buying and are pleased with our purchase. We do prewash our dishes by hand first. I think if you didn't prewash and did smaller spread out loads, it would get them clean, but with a family, we use a lot of dishes in a day and I want to get as many in as possible per load. I didn't think I'd care much about the third rack, but I actually really love it. It's perfect for small odds and ends (like kids water bottle components) and utensils and we use it every time. The fold down wine glass holder on the second shelf has not really worked with our glasses, so we really don't use it. As some reviewers had mentioned on other sites, there is kind of chemical smell. It was rather strong at first and lingered on the dishes a bit. After a year of use, the smell is greatly diminished, but does remain. It does a decent job of drying plastic, but we also just open the door after it's done and let them air dry.

This Bosch is consistent with a previous one I had. It cleans well. The racks are designed well to hold a anything and everything that can go into the washer. I really like the third rack for silverware. It's so easy, especially when you have one spoon. No bending down to the lower rack, pulling it out to fit in a spoon. I just slide that third rack open and place it. It's simple to operate. I like that you can put the Bosch with any appliance because it has no handle. Very sleek with beautiful stainless steel. Most important is that some of my glasses where getting cloudy. With my new Bosch and the advice of the installer, I changed to Finish and the cloudiness that is supposed to never come off DID! All my dishes now sparkle like they did in my old Bosch. I will never stray again.

The first Bosch we purchased went out of stock before we could have it delivered. This one has been great. Very quiet, cleans very well and easy to load. The third rack is a great feature. The Geek Squad installers did a great job and set up the unit and explained the operation very well.

We are happy with this purchase. I researched for months between Bosch, Samsung, and Kitchenaid. Sales associates from multiple stores said this model was the one to get. Results: It's a bad habit for us not to clean dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I have been diligent about just putting dishes and pots in with food still caked on. The results so far are spotless. It even cleans the stove top racks well. The 3rd rack is a nice addition. Design: In addition to a quality product, we wanted a white dishwasher with metal front vs. plastic. We didn't want the stainless steal look. This has a metal front - magnets can be put on there. I think that should be called out in features, but it's not. Had to ask to confirm. Price: We did have BB Gift Cards which made this an easier purchase on high price point along with free installation during 4th of July sale.

    I was skeptical until...

I read the reviews on this site until i made my purchase so i thought i would leave mine. I have used this dishwasher for over a year now with daily use. The main concerns i read were not adequate drying, smelly, and dishes dont fit. 1st, i had my dishwasher professionally installed. Does it make a difference? Who knows. Inadequate drying does happen if you dont use rinse agent that the MANUAL suggests you do. Otherwise i have no problems. The smell is not a problem. My filter has to be cleaned manually which maybe i do once a month. But i rinse my dishes first. You have to clean the filter. If you know how to change the batteries in your remote you can easily clean this filter. Btw, i have put dishes in without rinsing and they come out clean....and dry. As for dishrs not fitting, this was my main concern before my purchase. If you adjust the racks you have no problems. I took my commonly used dishes to the store and tested the space. Large cereal bowls dont do well on the top rack. Other than that, 12in plates, baking sheets, tall glasses, 50+ pieces of silverware.. No problem. And if the red light on the floor isnt on, i dont know its running. It is quiet. My last dishwasher was a maytag that lasted 14 years. I hope this one will last.
