  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: false (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Condenser drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: I've read some complaints about Bosch dishwashers having a strange configuration on bottom rack (tines in a weird direction) making it difficult to load. This is a newer model. Was that rectified or is it still a problem?

A: 100% bottom rack is terrible. It is a nightmare to load. Worst design of a bottom dish rack....perhaps in the history of humanity. What were the engineers thinking????

Q: Does the Bosch has a dry cycle? A friend of mine told me she was going with a Kitchenaid, because Bosch does not have a dry cycle and she was not interested in having to dry her dishes.

A: The Bosch dishwasher does have drying cycle, but it doesn't have a heating element in the bottom. Bosch uses hot air distributed from a vent in the lower back side of the left side panel. This prevents spilled food or small plastic ware from falling on the element and burning. Dishes are dry when the dishwasher completes its cycle.

Q: Does the black stainless finish on the Bosch dishwasher match black stainless on Samsung appliances?

A: I have the black stainless Bosch on one wall by the sink. It is a matte finish. I have the Samsung range and microwave on another wall. The finish is semi gloss. It suits me fine as I like both my products. No one ever notices that they are slightly different finishes. The gray is the same just the finish a little different.

Q: Do I need to purchase the installation kit with this dishwasher? Many reviews said the dishwasher comes with all parts needed for the installation.

A: No it does not. You need to buy a dishwasher install kit or buy the parts individually. It needs a water line, right angle hose bibb connector to whatever size your water line is (mine was 3/8 compression) and you will need a power cord. Even if replacing an older unit I recommend changing these parts just to be on the safe side since the kit is only about $30 and an old water line can cause much more in damage if it leaks.

Q: How does this '800' series differ from the 500 series ? Middle of model code: '800' series is '78' and '500' series is '65'

A: 800 has more folding tines. Touch controls verses buttons. More energy efficient. It is larger. It has more settings. Has eco cycle

Q: Im thinking about getting this dish washer for my kitchen. But I will need to be able to answer my wifes question before purchasing this unit. Her question is How will you know if the machine is done washing? Will there be a beep to let me know etc.

A: Hi there, thank you for your question. During the washing and drying cycle there will be a red dot that illuminates on the floor, letting you know your dishwasher is in-use. Once the cycle has completed the light will disappear and the dishwasher will chime.

Q: Got new Bosch installed. I've tried all dry settings...not drying..items in dishwasher are still wet, even on sanitize.

A: First thing I'd check is that the rinse aid dispenser is full. If so, go to pages 12 & 13 of the manual to check the rinse aid setting. It should be set to at least r:04 for good drying results. 5 is the factory default. It may have been accidentally changed. The only other thing I can think of is to make sure the water outlet hose has the required loop in it going to the drain. It may not be emptying all the way & making it harder or impossible for the machine to dry the dishes because of excess water staying in the machine. I added pics of both scenarios for you to compare.

Q: can you interrupt the wash cycle to add a forgotten item?

A: This is my 3rd Bosch 800. (We move a lot and replace the existing DW with a Bosch). I add forgotten items all the time. I think you have to press “start” again. I also use the speed wash exclusively.
