Customers are saying
Customers enjoy the 800 Series 24" Pocket Handle Dishwasher's quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance. The third rack and ample capacity are also frequently praised, along with the ease of use and sleek design. Not Thrilled
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must be the only one on the planet who doesn't love the Bosch dishwasher. The pros: it holds a large amount of dishes, it is extremely quiet and cleans fairly well. Con #1: there is no way to tell the status of the cycles, nor if the dishes have been cleaned. The Touch Control panel has an LED display that says" Cycle Status" - it is a misnomer, because it doesn't tell the status. I expected it to identify the various parts of the cycle as they happened, or at least identify when the cycle was completed - but it does neither. Con #2 : not great at drying. As a high-end product, doesn't stand out from my previous, "non-Bosch" dishwashers.

Love This Dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remodeled my kitchen and took out my old black Bosch dishwasher, which was working just fine. I just love everything about this new Bosch. I love the look, it is extremely quite, it cleans the dishes well, it dries them well, and the 3rd rack is a plus. I am thrilled with this purchase.

Works Great and Runs Silently
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Consumer rating agencies score the 800 series very high and I agree. It runs very quietly, looks great and the well designed interior holds more of our dishes, reducing the time we would spend with our old dishwasher rearranging/cramming in the last few dishes before it would run.

Product very underwhelming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don't buy!! No heated drying and all plastic item come out wet. Dish rack constantly comes off track and wheels pop off. Very, very bad smell due to wet items not drying. have to run with cup of vinegar to eliminate smell on a regular basis. Previous Bosch that was 11 years old was fantastic. New one runs quietly but that is the only plus.

Excellent dishwasher and quite
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great dishwasher - I really like the unit! When it is running it is very quite, and it has a floor light indicator to let you know it is running, otherwise you wouldn't know. Also, it took adjusting to, but I really like that the unit doesn't have a heating coil for drying - the air dry is great on almost everything except for lids which may be upside down on the rack and have some water in them when the cycle is over - you can put plastics safely on the bottom rack, they will not melt!

Looks good and super quiet, but leaves film
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After our 3rd leak from a KitchenAid dishwasher that was only 5 years old, we decided it was time replace it. After reading reviews we decided to give the Bosch a try. After delivery we opened it up to a rank smell. It seemed like the water used for testing the unit had sat in there for a while and produced a pungent odor. After a week of using the washer, the smell was better, but still present. Installation wasn't too bad except for the electrical. The Bosch requires that an electrical box be placed in a cabinet next to the washer. Our washer is not directly next to the sink and this made the cord quite short, which made installation a bit trickier. After installation we filled it with Jet Dry (it won't run without it) turned it on and were amazed at the silence. Washing time is about average. After the first load we noticed film on the glasses. We also had other issues. The top (3rd) shelf made the shelf below it too short to hold our glasses and while that shelf can hold alot of silverware, it didn't seem to keep ours well situated. The film seemed to improve after successive washings, but after a week there was still film on the glasses. Also as others have commented, the lack of heated drying leaves the plastic wet. We typically run the dish washer overnight, so it isn't convenient for us to open it up after the load completes. After spending a week with this dishwasher, we have decided to return it and try another one. We won't have another KitchenAid so I guess we are looking at a GE.

Great dishwasher - Quiet - Dishes Dry
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This dishwasher was more than I expected. Very quiet and dishes are very dry when cycle is complete. I read a lot of reviews about the drying problem but haven't run into that problem. Installation by Best Buy was quick and professional. I did have to wait about 3 weeks for delivery but well worth th wait.

Replaced a 2 year old Samsung
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so i just bought SHPM78W55N dishwasher to replace my 2 year old Samsung Waterwall dishwasher which was a piece of total junk and wouldn't wash any dishes and for $1000 you would expect your dishes to come out sparkling clean not the case with this dishwasher,. they came out to service it and blamed it not cleaning on the temp of my water not being hot enough but the temp of my water and water heater is set at the max it can be set on. i cannot stick my hand under the hot water with out getting blisters from being burnt. I am 100% happy with my new bosch dishwasher . I purposely put some nasty dirty dishes in where normally i would wash them before putting them in but I just left everything caked on and nasty. when the cycle was done i was expecting to have to clean the dishes because of the left over food but they came out with no food or baked on anything. I am so happy. I got tired of washing my dishes after washing my dishes

Best dishwasher I've had in 40 years. So quiet!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well worth the price. It cleans well and is so quiet. I love the third tray. Took the utensil basket out and put all flatware on top tray. This leaves much more room on the bottom for large items. Love it!!!

Love Bosch but this is a mixed bag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Bosch dishwasher. Moved into a new house and wanted to get one to replace the basic one included so got this model. The first one was dead on arrival although the installer didn't know that and had to come back twice and finally had to replace it. The replacement works but while I like it there are a few things strange. The top drawer is a great idea and i use it -- but i find that things on it sometimes don't get clean and it seems to block the tray below it from getting clean at times. The 'touch' panel is terrible. Sometimes it takes 20-30 secs of pressing to get it to acknowledge my touching it. If this is new then what will it be in 2-3 years? I hate to think. Overall it washes fine, it's very quiet and looks spectacular. I think i preferred my lower end model i had before though.

Quiet, but Can't Get the Basics Right
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, this dishwasher is quiet, but it falls short in so many other ways I have to give it 1 star. I cannot believe I paid almost $1000 for this; it is absolutely not worth it. Yes it is quiet. I wanted a really quiet dishwasher, so I bought it. But it can’t get the basics right. One reason it is quiet is because - I assume - that it doesn’t have the vent that many dishwasher have. This brings me to the first major pain with this dishwasher. If you don’t open the door and prop it open after a cycle the steam doesn’t dissipate and instead condensates on everything, leaving your dishes wet. It doesn’t matter how long you wait, if you don’t open the door after the cycle finishes you will come back hours later to wet dishes. They could at least have worked round this fundamental flaw by alerting you when the dishwasher has finished, but this has been botched too. When the cycle completes, it makes a few quiet beeps, and then goes silent. These should quietly repeat periodically for a couple of hours until you open or turn it off. It’s way too easy to miss the existing beep. They boast that the dishwasher also has an “InfoLight”. Apparently this is a registered trademark. Did they also patent this? I really hope not. It’s garbage. The light shines when the dishwasher is on. Once the dishwasher is finished, the light goes off. So, given that I usually use a 1.5 hour cycle, for 22.5 hours per day, the light is off. Off means one of two things: the dishwasher has finished a cycle, or the dishwasher is off. If you don’t hear the finishing beeps, the light being off sure isn’t going to remind you to open the dishwasher. And remember that if you don’t open it immediately, you end up with wet dishes. This light could actually be useful if it turned GREEN and stayed on until you open it or turn it off. The only other thing the InfoLight does is flash if you open the dishwasher mid-cycle. If you close it again it will flash to alert you that you need to turn it back on. This is meant to be helpful, but what would be a LOT more helpful is to do what literally EVERY other dishwasher I’ve ever used is to automatically start up again once you close the door. Instead, for some inexplicable reason you have to press the resume button to resume. WHY? Finally, if you do open it midcycle or forget to turn it off after the cycle completes and have the door open in the horizontal position, the slightest brush of your clothing against the touch-sensitive buttons will activate them. This can change the cycle or some how screw up the mid cycle so that even if you do press resume and then close the door the red light will mysteriously continue to flash. With a few small software changes this dishwasher could be better. But I’m stuck with this expensive machine now. I really really wish I hadn’t bought it. DO NOT BUY!

I hate this dishwasher
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We needed something to replace an old Kenmore we had for 10+ years and decided upon the Bosch because it has such great ratings. The only bad reviews were about extra condensation due to the lack of a heating element. But, all the comments said if you left it alone, and didn’t open it once the cycle started, the condensation issue wouldn’t happen or would be minimal. Nope. We follow the directions to a T and everything is soaking wet every single time. The racks also are also bothersome. The prongs are too close to fit anything but plates well on the bottom rack. The middle rack has a lot of weird space that is too small/awkwardly formed for cups, especially if you put bowls in the middle section. The middle rack is also too short with the extra lid rack above it to fit anything taller that a 12-16oz cup. So, any travel mugs and sports/water bottles need to go on the bottom where they flop around on the short plate spikes. The top lid rack is great but only fits really short things well, like the lids to plastic containers or large flat utensils. If you lower the sides to fit slightly taller items (think small plastic containers for lunch boxes or the tops to travel mugs/water bottles) then you can’t even fit a typical tall water glass on the middle rack underneath it. To top it off, you can’t even put plates back to back in the bottom rack spaces unless you’ve pre-cleaned them really well. Otherwise, not enough water reaches the entire surface and you’re left with still-dirty dishes. It might say you can fit more but I find it fits far far less than our old Kenmore. On the plus side, it is very quiet. Overall, it is a very frustrating dishwasher. I end up hand washing the majority of our dishes now because it’s easier than the hassle of trying to get things to fit and then having to dry them all afterward. I would not purchase it again.

The worst purchase I've ever made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm sorry to say that I think we got a lemon with this dishwasher. Since purchasing it in 2019, I have put over $775 into repairs. I experienced more frustration with this appliance than any appliance I have ever purchased. It is now a piece of junk that will be hauled away. I am now having to replace it. A pathetic 5 year lifespan.

Cleans great - But won't run half the time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super quiet, great features - But you know what I desire the most? Clean dishes. This thing is a total PITA. Why doesn't the button combination of normal - start - close the door work? Stupid thing turns on the light, then off after just a minute or two... Does not wash the load. Thanks BOSCH!! Wish you would make this easy to use. I am an engineer and this doesn't run right. My girlfriend can't even get it to run. I get the German thing - but really? You ruined a good thing. I just want something I can load, hit a button, and my dishes are clean. Can you work on that please???
