Purchased with soundbar mostly for music and to make it easy to change music gendres, stations, etc. with Alexa. Works great and very happy.

Bought this to go with my soundbar 500 makes a great pair. Not as loud as I thought it would be or what it sounded in the store.

You should really buy this with the sound bar. The bar by itself does not have a lot of bass.

This really brings your audio to life. Without the subwoofer & just having the soundbar your music/movies sound flat.

The Bose Bass Module 500 Subwoofer is a nice compact system with some oomph. This unit comes in at 10”w x 10”d x 9.5”h, which doesn’t take too much room and allows for placement flexibility. Not to mention that the Subwoofer is wireless. One thing to note is that the wireless capability is based on soundbar compatibility, which at this point seems to only be compatible with the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bose Soundbar 700. To set up the wireless connection, you must use the Bose app to do so. Set up was pretty easy, however the instructions could do a bit better job explaining which settings to go into. The wireless connection must be established through the Soundbar settings, not the app settings, which wasn’t too clear from the instructions. Once in the app, you must click on the Bose Soundbar icon (Soundbar must be set up first), then within settings click on Accessory Speakers. Add the accessory speaker and connection was seamless. Even though the Subwoofer is wireless, the unit does allow for audio connectivity via 3.5mm input jack. Which would allow you to use this subwoofer with other soundbars, however a big draw to this unit is the wireless connectivity. I have this unit connected with the Bose Soundbar 500 and it definitely amplifies the home theater experience as it makes the audio come more to life. Even though this unit is wireless, the connectivity is excellent. I have not experience and sort of lag from between the soundbar and subwoofer. A drawback to this unit that some may see is that it lacks customization. There are no dials or buttons to this unit, it is really just plug and play. Not that it is a bad thing as Bose does do a great job with their audio products. Some people may like to be able to fine tune their settings, which this cannot be done on the unit itself or the Bose. Most compact subwoofers probably don’t have this functionality anyways, but wanted to point that out. Other than that, this unit is looks to be a quality build and produces some good bass. If you are really into cinema or music and have purchase the Bose Soundbar 500 or 700, this unit will build on the audio experience. If you don’t have either of these soundbars, then you would not be leveraging this unit’s key feature which is the wireless connectivity.

The base control and volume is what I love about Bose.

Not enough bass. This is great for small spaces and light bass. Not enough for me though.

Will be exited to use once our new house is ready.
