Disappointed - Popping Sound Constant. Drip, Drip!

Disappointed. Get a constant popping sound the 500 sub... very annoying and like the constant drip of Chinese Water Torture. Searched the internet for the issue and a solution. Apparently, the popping is a result of 5Ghz wireless network interference... Solution found was either disable 5Ghz on home Wi-Fi, or hard wire the 500 module using a shielded 3.5mm cable. Luckily the latter so far has worked for me. And hope it is the final solution. But i have read that others are not so lucky. Bose being a high end product i would have expected more and this should have been addressed during design enhancement. Overall disappointed i had to deal with this... otherwise speaker works as advertised and sound "without the popping" is good.

Hello, if the Bass module is positioned close to the Wi-Fi router, it may be experiencing wireless interference which can cause the popping sound that you have experienced. You can prevent this by hardwiring the Bass module to the soundbar, or repositioning either the Bass module away from the Wi-Fi router or vice versa. Should you need any further assistance, feel free to contact our technical support team, who will be more than happy to help: bose.life/3rykPZR. Liam - Bose Customer support. bose

I purchased and 900 soundbar with my 500 bass module and had the bass start making clicking noise after the first week. I exchange the first one and now the 2nd bass module has blown. I was told by bose these products are compatible yet here i am and Best buy exchange policy so short i am week past the return window. Bose says 4 weeks they can repair and return but no good options. Dont buy this bass.

The Bose subwoofer instruction manual does not give instructions on how to install and connect it to the soundbar. I had to call the Bose help desk 4 times to finally get everything connected. Be careful on your expectations of being able to connect and use the Bose app if you don't own your own router (like in a condo situation). Because you can't do it and will required to approach it from the backend.

      Hi, Goose.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your Bose Bass Module 500. We really appreciate your feedback!

The Bass Module 500 produces rich and clear bass and is perfect for smaller rooms or apartments where neighbors are located close by. The larger Bass Module 700 (https://bit.ly/2sdaws5) is our most powerful bass module, offering thunderous bass response for your movies, shows, and games. This model is fantastic for larger rooms.

We hope this helps. Thank you again, and have a great day.

      Best Regards,

      Jesse - Bose Support bose
