Solid performance for a bedroom. Did have to wire it with an Aux cable since it kept cutting out when used wirelessly to the Bose 300 soundbar.

I had purchased Bose sound bar 500 and it sounds fantastic! I’ve also bought along with it Bose wireless surround speakers and the Bose bass module 500. And in my small New York studio apartment I am sound superior!

    Great sound

Added this to the soundbar 300 because the soundbar does not have enough bass, probably intentional by Bose to pair the 2. Adds much needed bass.

    Good but not best

I have used the Bose Bass Module 500 for over a month now, found it useful and but setup can be a hassle. It also have a problem connecting to other the soundbar 500 at times. Nonetheless, as expected of a Bose product, the sound quality is amazing but the quality of the product, particularly the case itself makes the product look and feel cheap. It also gathers significant amount of dust in a very short period. Therefore, keeping these things in mind, I would still recommend the product as I feel the product is well put, apart from minute things.

Provides a much needed bottom end to the Bose Soundbar 500. Has adequate output for a small room and wireless connectivity is a plus. Can't dig real deep, but gets low enough to cleanly reproduce low frequency effects from movies. Found it to be fairly one-note for music though. If you have the Soundbar 500 then it is a no-brainer, but when looking at the value proposition of the Bose Soundbar 500 and Bass Module 500 I would be tempted to consider alternatives.

    Weak Bass

    Posted .

I was expecting to hear more bass thunder from this 500 module than I seem to receive. It doesn’t seem to improve the bass quality much with the TV connection. But there is some improvement to bass sounds using a bluetooth connection. I’m not certain if there is a technical problem with this device or if it is designed to function this way. I probably won’t plan on purchasing another Bose product at this time.

      Hello Jasper,

I'm sorry to hear the Bass Module didn't meet your expectations regarding how thunderous the bass was. When pairing the subwoofer with your soundbar, there's an option called ADAPTiQ which calibrates the speaker to perfectly compliment the room it is placed in. It's possible you're used to hearing boomier bass which isn't necessarily correct. If that is something you're more interested in, however, there is an option in the app's settings to manually dial in a higher level of bass. Please give that a try and see if it makes a positive difference for you.

    Popping and Crackling

Sounds great …. Until is starts popping and crackling… has had this issue since I got it . Its actually quite common. Bose customer care recomended Move it closer or move it furter… if neither work , use a wire for your wireless subwoofer…. Hmmmmm spent too much money on this ecosystem for this. Try Sonos!

Thanks for your review, Jona! I'm happy you like the Bass Module 500's general output; if you're getting popping sounds, there could be numerous causes of this. Using a cable is one workaround, but you should also check for sources of excessive wireless interference. If all troubleshooting fails, service can be provided for your bass module. Go Sonos

Would work fine if the Bose 900 Soundbar wasnt absolute trash. Decent base, but Id go Sonos. This system is not ready for market, a connection doesnt last more than 20 minutes via an HDMI ARC connection before the sound cuts out. spend the next 5 minutes fumbling with the remote until it magically pops back on. rewind your scene and enjoy for 10 minutes... awful

I bought the bass module 500 in November of 2020. It stopped working and won't turn on. There are a few youtube videos of fixes for a common component. Seems like a quality issue that needs a recall. It's now a $500 paper weight and the website is almost useless to get online support. The system doesn't recognize the serial number and if you go through the steps for online trouble shooting, you get a message that this product is not support in your region. I'm in the US and bought it at Best Buy, how is it not supported? Finally called in the 800 number and to fix it will be an additional $170. I would not recommend buying this, it will break in less than three years.

Hello Leigh, If you have tried all the recommended troubleshooting and the Bass module is still not functioning, then a repair would be the next option. It's worth noting that the repair cost includes shipping to and from the facility and will also have a repair warranty provided that will cover the Bass module for another 12 months, once it has been sent back from the repair facility.
