Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the Companion 20 Multimedia Speaker System's exceptional sound quality, encompassing impressive bass and crisp highs. The speakers are also praised for their ease of use and compact size, making them a convenient addition to any desktop setup. While some find the price point a bit high and the cord length somewhat short, the overall positive feedback highlights the system's excellent audio performance and stylish design. Many users find the volume control particularly convenient.

    The Bass Is Lacking

At mid-level these speakers are great but past that the bass sounds like a thud. It was fine when I was playing Eminem but not when I put on Korn.

After I brought them home and hooked them up I was very unimpressed by these speakers. I was a little hesitant to buy anything withough a seperate sub but when i heard them in the store I had to try them. The bass is very muffled on alot of songs. If you listen to music without lots of bass, some classical or piano music, you might really enjoy these but if you listen to everything like i do YOU WILL NOT! If you really feel the need spend the extra $150 and get the 5 series. For me i went down in price and bought the klipsh 2.1 series and they are awesome!!! way better then bose and a $100 bucks less

    Great......for eighteen months.

I enjoyed these speakers while they worked. but at eighteen months, they just up and died. I spent more for these than I normally would in the expectation that they would perform better than the many lower priced alternatives. Now, I just have expensive space-junk to get rid of.

    Looking for bass? Keep looking

I thought Companion 20 would give me the bass I was looking for missing from Companion 2. Not the case at all and jumping from $99 to $249 for Companion 20 was absolutely not worth it. Went with the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 and am so very happy. More affordable as well.

    Poor speakers

I am disappointed that while the left speaker wire looks fine and the right speaker looks fine, when I connect them there is a crackling sound. The sound goes off nanda on. I did not have this until now. I have taken very good care of the speakers and do not understand why this is happening. Given their cost I cannot see spending another $75 to replace the unit since it is past warranty. Sounds like they were not properly manufactured. I expect better from Bose. For now I will have to only listen via the right speaker. Very disappointed. I have had these for a while and would have recommended them but did not expect this to happen. If the issue is the wire you cannot even replace the wire. Wish Bose would rectify the situation. :(

    poor quality

Bought it this morning. When I turned it on, it started to make a nonstop mouse clicking noise (and that's a pretty common problem people said due to my research). So I called bose customer service, and they told me it's out of warranty because this one I bought on July 30th, 2021, was manufactured in 2011. I bought this because I just returned another Bluetooth speaker from Bose, it's brand new, but the first day I used it's not working properly for no reason. I'll never purchase anything from bose anymore. This brand is trash.

    Terrible Sound Quality

Purchased speakers and immediatly returned them. The set up was easy enough but the sound quality was no more than terrible. In playing some rock and roll the mid range instruments drowned out the vocal rendering it unintelligible. I currently own the companion 3 and thought i was installing an upgrade, I was mistaken. I am currently back to using my 3's.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your Companion 20 Multimedia Speaker System, Kary. This sounds very frustrating, and we want to help. We would first recommend a power reset of the Companion speakers with these steps: 1.Turn off the device connected to the system. 2. Unplug the power cord of the system from the power outlet. Wait 90 seconds. 3. Reconnect the power cord. 4. Retest the system. If the buzzing sound persists, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team at 1-800-367-4008 for further assistance. They are available M-F 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern. Thank you again, and have a great day. Jesse - Bose Support Bose
