A: Definitely these sound so much better and fill the room much better. The little extra size makes a big difference with the bass reproduction too.
Q: Are these compatible with a mac book?
A: Yep. Bose makes many Mac-Friendly devices. Currently using a Companion 5, that uses a USB connection. No drivers to install, no software; OSX takes care of everything.
Q: will this speaker system connect to my cell phone for music i have downloaded?
A: Thank you for the questions. If your cell phone has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, these speakers could be connected to play downloaded or streaming music. There is no CD player in these speakers. However, they could be easily connected to a portable CD player or computer that would allow you to play your disc through the speakers.
Q: will these speakers work on a 220 v system outside the US?
A: Hi there. The Companion 20's power supply is dual voltage. It can be used in a different region by replacing the line cord that connects the power supply to the outlet. Thanks for the question.
Q: How do these speakers connect to my macbook?
A: The Bose Companion 20 speaker system attaches to any laptop via the headphone jack. They plug to the computer’s headphone output via a standard 3.5mm jack. The appropriate stereo cable for this connection is provided in the box. Thank you for the question!
A: No
A: These are much better. I returned the Series III speakers. They are just OK. If you spend a little bit more you won't have to ever buy them again, so it is a good long term investment.
A: I bought a standard 3.5mm stereo cable from Radio Shack to hook from the sound card to the speaker and it works fine. The cable that connects the two speakers together is fairly short and it is proprietary and even Bose does not make an extension.
