First let me say these are a good set of speakers and would recommend to anyone. Now here is what i need to get use to... If you have multi audio out say one connection goes to your Home stereo and the other is your PC audio and you use lets say Winamp or WMP you will need to have a second output set up as these speakers have there own sound card built in so it will show up as USB audio and not your default audio card. I was able to get the PC to output to 2 different audio sources so i am able to use my PC still to output to my home stereo using Winamp. Now for the cost you know what you are paying for 'Name" but i must say the sound quality for both Music and movies is superb. If you can get over the cost "wait for them to go on sale" it is a worthy investment.

Love the speakers. Use them at work, and the bass kicks in right on time, its not an annoying thumping like the Klipsch speakers I've had previously.

Right now while writing this review I am listening to Candide Overture by Leonard Bernstein. I have probably listened to this song three or four times in the three weeks I have owned the system. Every single time I listen to this I am amazed. In fact every song or anything channeled through this system is amazing. I am also the proud owner of an HP Dv6000. As some of you might know Hp computers come whith altec lansing speakers built in. Quite frankly they suck. I swear they achieve about three decibels. So anyways in my infinite wisdom I decided that I would buy some good computer speakers. At first I thought of Logitec, Klipsch ect. but then I thought of bose. I didn't want to spend $400 dollars on a system that was so badly reviewd on some sights. Who would? So i went to my local Best Buy and tried out the demo. It put the bad reviews out of thier misery. But what if the demo was just tweeked to sound great dispite the speakers weaknesses. It wasn't i decided to at least try it out for 30 days. I was not let down or misled in any way. It is nothing like some people would have you believe it is nothing short of awsome. So do yourself a favor at least try it out and see it for yourself.

I'm simply amazed by how great things sound on my computer! Who knew? Apparently Bose did. Everyone who has heard it is blown away. And, all that sound from a standard sound card built into my computer's motherboard. I shied away from it at first wondering just how good it could possibly be without an actual sound card. Need not have worried. WOW! I wonder what would happen if I invested in a high-end sound card? I had also worried if this would work okay on my VIsta 64-bit system. Not to worry. And, it found the Bose driver automatically, I did not have to do a thing to have it working at its amazing best right from the get-go. The only issue I could even find is it appears when the computer first comes up, the controller unit defaults to mute. It would be great if it would "wake up" once the PC is up and running. BTW, where it asks would I recommend this to a friend? Absolutely, and can only add, already have..... This has done to my PC what my Bose surround sound system did to my Television. A-mazing! Don't wait....wake up your computer, turn on your iTunes and ENJOY!

I have been listening to my Bose Companion 5 daily for the past week and seriously, I really like it. The sound is amazing. I must have brought a dozen speaker systems home (Logitech, Creative, Bose companion 3) to test and subsequently returned them all before I settled on the Companion 5. I am delighted with my purchase. Many complain of the high price but, the quality of the sound is well worth it. None of the other systems I brought home or listened to in the stores come close.

These were worth every penny. Less space and sounds like high quality stereo system only better because they play right off my itunes. I don't think it is very easy to blow these. I've had them at full blast several times and they still sound great. Extra money but well spent. I'm pretty much obsessed...

Wow! I knew I should've had picked up this baby earlier. Truly BOSE delivers exceptional products to the market. The installation took less than one minute and all I had to do was plug in the USB drive. BAM! There it was... The sound is truly unmatched, I must say it was money well spent! RECOMMEND!

Easy to install, sounds great, very well made, sturdy. Very impressive sound from such small speakers.

This 2.1 setup is simply amazing! While elegant on the outside, there is a beast within. These speakers purr and roar all at the same time! The range of these speakers are dynamic and clear, maintaining quality and tonal Characteristic at all levels. I tested them against the Razer Mako speakers and these simply make the Razer mako system sound adolescent. In all three categories, movies, music and Games the Bose came up on top. In the music categories Angels and Airwaves and Coldplay never sounded so heavenly. When I tested the gaming range of these speakers.. All I can say is WOW! They Rock! Fear 2 was almost two scary too play! When it came to movies... The Village was so clear and satisfying.I also watched John Mayer " where the light is" and this was epic! All in all these speakers are great!!! You will feel immersed in your media from games to movies! They are a bit pricey... but worth it. You will be completely satisfied and then some! Enjoy!

I have several Bose systems in my home, the Bose 3-2-1 Theater System, Bose Lifestyle 28 Theater System, Over Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones, and now the Companion 5 Computer speakers. These live up to Bose quality sound. I have had them now about 3 months so I have used them quite a lot. I listen to mp3 music almost everytime I sit and use the computer. I watch little TV. These speakers sound awesome. Set up was a breeze, read the manual FIRST... be patient, setup can be a bit slow (my Dell computer is 1 year old) at least it was on my system. The initial setup and setting the configeration in your sound systems Control Panel was easy using the instructions. The sound will "blow you away". The only thing I dont like is the USB connection (and they are a bit pricey). It's nice now, but you are not able to use these speakers on a stand alone mp3 player or portable cd player (at least I dont know how to hook them up). Other than that small detail, these speakers are great sounding. I listen to Big Band, 60's-80's Rock, Classical, a little country, and Bluegrass. No matter what I listen to they excell! WAY TO GO BOSE!!!! Im my humble opinion, if you can afford them, you cant go wrong with these speakers.

You just can't believe the sound that comes out of these small speakers. It is absolutely amazing! Everyone that has listened to my music can't believe the sound is coming from my computer, I tell them, the sound is coming from my Bose System not my computer. This system makes my computer sound like I am at a concert. I love, love, love, love, love my new Bose System.

I can’t say enough about these speakers. I recently purchased these puppies for my father in law. It makes watching clips on you tube, like you were in the movies theater. These speakers sound just as good as my 3000 surround sound system. The speakers are very small, and they sit high on a stand, allowing for an aesthetically pleasing view. The sub woofer is small, but it packs a lot of power. This unit also has minimal cables, which allows for a quick and easy set up. Windows 7 and Vista will pick up the drivers immediately, so basically no driver installation is needed. The manual controller is also a nice add on. This allows for someone to quickly adjust the volume, hook up a MP3, and an easy on and off button. This unit even sounds amazing when it is on low. Watching movies with this unit is quite a pleasure.

This bose system for my desktop has excellent sound quality, what one should expect from bose. A little pricey, but bose usually is. Spend a little more for this companion 5 system, you will not be disappointed.

THE COMPANION 5 IS AMAZIN SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT SOONER,ALSO THE BEST PART ITS ONLY SUPOSE TO BE USED WITH A LAPTOP OR DESKTOP,BUT I FOUND A WAY TO USE THE COMPANION 5 WITH THE AUX CABLE AND CONNECT TO MY HDTV. MAN AMAZIN SOUND I WATCHED AVATAR AND HEARD ONE CLIP OF BLURAY MOVIE AND WAS RAINNING AND FELT LIKE I WAS THERE. WORTH BUYING FOR PRICE

I use my PC for music, gaming and movies and this is by far the BEST speakers I have ever had. The price is really high but it IS a Bose brand and it delivers high quality sound. Previously I had 5.1 surround logitech speakers which are way cheaper but with these it is a major difference in clarity and sound. They are expensive for a reason and that reason is the best sound you can get. I recommend these speakers for those who spend a lot of media time on the PC but only for those who want the best sound as it is expensive. The only negative is that even though it delivers surround sound with 2.1 speakers it still isn't the same as actual physical 5.1 speakers set. Still I'd rather have better quality sound then just cheap surround.

I have owned them for 2 years now and the sound is amazing. The bass is great and can be adjusted. They can run for long hours as i have done. They look niceand are great overall.

I was looking around for a compatible speaker system to match up with my new gateway PC. These speakers are the best I've ever heard for PC and easy to set up. When it comes to audio, I usually buy high end equipment that BEST BUY does n't even sell.

2 speakers and a sub woofer without reading the details anyone would say its a 2.1 system. But when you buy it or read the detail spec's you find out that its a 5.1. this 3 piece system (not including the remote) gives you so a dynamic range and quality of music. i would recommend this speakers system for any computer owner. Especially the people that watch movie's on there computer i recommend this to you. this system isn't big compared the home theater bose systems but it gives you quality home theater experience on you computer.

This product is amazing. The Sound is so good. Once you put it on you can hear how much better your music and any thing that comes out of those speakers sound. I bought this product for my dorm room, I use it for my computer and with a 10 dollar y-jack you can use it with your tv too. Dont worry about the difference between analog and digital sound because it sounds amazing on the tv. Plus the speakers are shielded so they are ok to put next to a tv. These speakers are just simply amazing. It really is worth the price!

wow i have had these for 3 months now and they do not disappoint. i have had zero problems with them and i am using them with a mac running osx lion 10.7.2 the sound is unbelievable. my wife and kids won't get of the laptop because they love watching movies on it because of the sound. i own the bose 321 system and these are just as good.
