This is an amazing product!! I’m in love with it! Here’s what I love and some improvements that can be made for the next one. I’m a music junkie with sensitive eye issues, so pairing sunglasses w/bluetooth capabilities just bumped up my happy place. Went bike riding with them on and had my phone in my backpack and never lost connectivity. I would highly recommend putting volume on a low setting while biking so you can hear traffic. The sunglass tint is perfect. I used the glasses to do gardening and really enjoyed being able to do so while listening to music and protecting my eyes from the glare of the sun reflecting on surfaces in my surroundings. It doesn’t have much base and was hoping to find an equalizer in the Bose App but didn’t snd is the main reason I gave it 4 stars. I’m a base junkie and expected such from Bose. Also, didn’t like the shape of the glass but am willing to deal with it bc the product itself serves multiple purposes. An App needs to be downloaded to your phone to be able to pair up your eyeglasses. It was quick and easy. The App allows you to add different music apps for ease of listening to your fav tunes. One thing that was great was being able to talk hands free while cooking; yes I wore them while cooking since the sun and kitchen light both are bright. Usually my mom (hearing impaired) will have difficulty hearing the entire conversation which causes me to have to repeat numerous times or speak very loudly. Without her knowing I was using a new and different product to speak with her, I simply asked if she could hear me well over the sound of me turning in the faucet and moving about with pots and pans. I really wanted to know if she could hear me because I wasn’t talking as loud as usual (trust me, I get loud) and since the conversation was flowing so well, I could ONLY attribute it to the mic being very responsive and sensitive. That alone gets five stars but since I don’t get the base quality sound I expect from speakers, I had to give it 4 stars overall. The quality of the sound of the music is good and clear. So easy to connect to bluetooth (after software installation) with just a touch of a button on the bottom right side of the eyeglass handle. There’s an immediate prompt (female voice) indicating battery power and connectivity. The package comes with a hard case to carry and protect the glasses which I place in as soon as they come off my face if I don’t intend to use them. A charger wire comes with the package but you need to have the charger plug already to connect the wire to. A quick guide pamphlet was included with a QR code which I used to quickly get to the app and created an account and got using my glasses right away. Overall, amazing product.

We were excited to try these sunglasses out and had high expectations from Bose. Unfortunately Bose fell short with these sunglasses in my opinion. To start: These sunglasses look nice and are very well made. The Cat Eye style of the Soprano is more of a ladies style sunglass. We thought these could be great for when out on a motorcucle ride as I have to wear sunglasses while riding anyhow. Unfortunately even at the highest volume they could not be heard at all even with the bike at idle. This was a huge disappointment! These boast that they are discreet headphones, not alerting others nearby that you are listening to music. However this is only partially true. If the volume it up over 50% everyone around you can hear the music plain as day. I will say that even around that 50% mark, these headphone are fairly loud (if you are in a more quiet environment). The volume can be changed simply by sliding your finger up or down the side arm of the sunglasses. This feature is pretty neat. When it comes to audio quality these were so so. Due to the nature of the speaker and its size you do not get too much depth with these and the sound is borderline tinny. I do like that these eliminate the oncomfortableness of having something jammed in your ears to listen to music as I do have sensitive ears. Battery life was at about 10 hours at lower listening levels. If you prefer to listen to them any louder the battery life seemed to rapidly decrease. There is a Bose app that you download with these. It was simple and painless to pair the sunglasses. One thing the app is missing is an equalizer. All and all, these are really cool in theory and make for a great novelty but they won't be my first choice when I reach for a pair of headphones. These would probably be best fitted for when going for a walk, jog, or something simular.

      Hi Heather,

It's great to hear you are enjoying the style, comfort and touch controls on your Frames!

If you are worried about sound being heard by those around you, the Frames use our Bose Open Ear Audio™ design with speakersprecisely positioned to direct sound at you and away from everyone else. The innovative design drastically reduces the spread of sound beyond you!

With the battery life, your Frames will last for up to 5.5 hours of audio at normal listening levels, so it is impressive you managed to get 10 hours out of yours!

As can be expected from any Bose product, these audio sunglasses are nothing short of AMAZING! Bluetooth connectivity is simple and quick. Setting them up with the Bose Music app is seamless and effortless. The soprano style is a one size fits most which unfortunately for me, doesn’t fit me at all and are much too narrow for my head. I am able to rest them on my head and hear the sound and angle them to see the lenses, but this is the wrong model for me fit wise. Sound is clear and phone conversations are crisp and nearly undetectable to outside listeners unless volume is really cranked up. Doing so is truly unnecessary unless you are in a super noisy environment. The open ear design is definitely more comfortable than having an earbud on for hours and less bulky than a full over the ear headphone. I also own Bose Soundsport Free and Bose QC15 and find the sound quality to be comparable across all devices with the QC15s offering the best noise cancelling due to their over the ear design. People I conversed with indicated that background noise was clear and unmuted so this could be improved for more active noise cancelling in the microphone. The glasses charged fully in about an hour and are still going strong after several hours of use. The double tap for voice assistant (Siri, as I have iPhone) didn’t seem to work fully as Siri would begin to engage and then bail out. However volume control from the temple of the frame and turning them upside down to power off both worked well. The ability to turn these into prescription glasses with the built in wearable technology is a definite winner in my book! These are a great wearable, just make sure you try on for size before buying or requesting as a gift.

When I first received these I was apprehensive that they would work as well as they did. These have speakers that sound like the sound is inside your head. I have seen speakers that are directive and really like the technology. I assume these are the same type as once you put the sunglasses on the sound is very clear and crisp. Even in louder ambient noise you can hear very clearly. They are louder than I also thought. Obviously you can't cut the lawn with these as they probably would be distorted but for walking around these are fantastic. The calling feature sound good with one person on a call had to ask for a repeat but all in all these are really well built and they operate way above what I had anticipated. They last a fairly long time on a charge and the pairing was seamless. If you are looking for a good pair of sunglasses and want to listen to music these are for you.

Not a good product. Returned 1st pair thru Bose because they did not stay connected. The 2nd pair I am having the same issue. I can get them to work the 1st time, and then after you lay them down it says they are connected but there is no audio. It randomly says ready to connect, then says it connected to the phone and only says half of the characters. I tried several time to connect in the Bose Music app, and it still does not connect even with the app. I am done with these glasses and would not recommend.

These Bose Frames combine two of my favorite things: sunglasses & music. I am a collector of vintage sunglasses (Oakley, Ray-Ban, etc). So when I saw these I immediately knew I wanted to be a tester for Bose! I am really happy that I did! The Bose Music app made connecting via Bluetooth to my iPhone 11 Pro Max a simple task. The Bose Frames come with a 50% charge. I had a podcast going on my AirPods so I paused that to set these up. I was listening to my favorite podcast again in less than 2 minutes. Through the Bose Music app I learned that I could replace the lenses. Good thing because I had an oily fingerprint smudge from just getting them out of the case. I was able to get that fingerprint off but I am rather hard on lenses. So I always buy multiple OEM sets to keep on hand. The open-ear audio is pretty cool. I can listen to a podcast or some music while continuing to also hear the environment around me pretty clearly. Is it completely silent to others? No, but it is fairly faint sounding I was told. Will you be able to listen to a podcast and ignore the person talking to you? If you have the volume down low enough it is probably possible. Charging was a breeze. It includes a usb cable (but no wall outlet adapter). While you can get a full charge in 1 hour I have been charging them at night along with my phones! I am really happy I was able to test these new Bose Frames. They are stylish, sleek looking, sound amazing & I can change out the lenses to fit the color of my mood! What is not to love? Definitely give them a try!

These frames are some of the coolest tech I have to date. That also doesn’t mean that it doesn’t come with some drawbacks. The immediate upside for me is that I no longer have to push earbuds more securely into my ear for fear of them falling out because the fit is horrible. These frames have replaced them in my opinion. Especially, during these times when we need to refrain from touching around our faces. I also like that it frees up my ears so that I don’t have ear fatigue from ear buds, but I can hear my surroundings if I chose to. I don’t feel distracted by outside noise and I was still able to hear in loud environments. Setup was a breeze with the app. The total setup process was no longer than a couple minutes. My phone located them right away. It also connects pretty quickly, but the voice that lets you know it’s connected and the battery life is a bit slow to announce that information. The sound quality is great. I didn’t expect “out of this world” banging bass but the sound is clear and crisp. And I have enjoyed rocking out whilst shopping. Also, the call quality is pretty good too. I didn’t have quality or connection issues. Love that I’m able to control certain features by pressing the one button, but I love that I’m able to adjust the volume by lightly swiping along the arm. It’s very convenient. I can also call on Siri and she responds without me having to touch a button. The standard lenses are polarized, and not something you have to purchase separately, so it gives you the feeling that it’s of quality straight out the box. The weight of them are quite comfortable. The protective case is hard and sturdy and has a soft cloth for cleaning. The frames are constructed of a shiny plastic and not matte. They have a classic look that would fit many face shapes. Here are a few things that I noticed but aren’t deal breakers for me. On windy days the wind can be an ear killer for the party on the other end of the phone. The battery life is a bit short at 3-3.5 hours with nonstop use. I had to carry the charger with me just to charge in between stops. It charged quickly. The full charge would last a couple days with less use and turning them off between uses. I’m not sure if it was the polarization on the lenses, but I would get an instant headache if I wore them at home/indoors, inside car or while reading my phone screen. If I was outdoors or in a brightly lit indoor location, I wouldn’t get an instant headache. The pain would then go away almost as instant and as fast as it came. I should note that the arms weren’t compressing the sides of my head so I believe my eyes didn’t like adjusting to the lenses in certain environments. I’m going to order other lenses to try. The more I wear them the less it happens, so this may just be a personal thing that I have to adjust to. The arms look bulky, because of the speaker placement. They didn’t feel any heavier during wear, but it’s more of a visual thing if you prefer sleek look. I do wish that the nose piece was adjustable bc I have noticed where it would slip a little on my nose, but mainly when I wore a mask. I would highly recommend these. They are very cool and has basically replaced my other bluetooth ear devices, while out. Quality and sound is exceptional for the product and it’s shocking how clear calls are for both parties, and how crisp my music listening experience is.

The Bose sunglasses with built-in speakers were something that were a long time coming; I've wondered why no one has done this yet. After wearing Bose's attempt for a while, it's clear that there are still obstacles to overcome. First of all, the style and fit. As the stems are so thick because they need to handle the actual electrical duties of the speakers, i.e., the charging, Bluetooth, and actual speaker functions, the frames themselves have to support the look of the stems. With a thick frame arcing upward on the top outer portion, it immediately brought to mind the cat's-eye frames popular so many years ago. I perceived them as more of a woman's frame than a man's, but who's to say these days? They also have a look reminiscent of early Ray-Ban, circa late '90s. I wasn't a huge fan of the styling, rather, I was looking forward to their performance. They were also tight. Some say, with a degree of accuracy, that I have a big head, but even using my old Sunglass Hut tricks of the trade, I couldn't get them to sit comfortably where they wouldn't give me a headache after only a few songs. The lenses are not polarized, and I'd have a hard time believing they are impact-resistant, which would have made them very attractive for listening to music or podcasts while doing yard work had they been. As for the performance, it probably doesn't need to be said, but these are not audiophile quality devices. With speakers that size, it's very hard to replicate sound accurately, and anything requiring any degree of bass or midbass is sadly lacking. It does help though, that it's probably closer to what singers actually sound like without the aid of autotune. Bawitaba by Kid Rock is laughable, Alanis Morissette would have a new topic to rage about if she heard her songs in this manner, and even the Beach Boys wipe out when played over the sound system. Add to that the fact that the speakers are positioned to play directly into one's ear, which results in the perception that the sound is coming from behind the wearer, and no one is fooled. Volume is not as restricted to the wearer as one might think, either. While going through my range of test tracks, my wife could hear what I was listening to from 10 feet away, which means that if one is kicking it to their jam, others probably are, too. All that being said, if someone is looking for an innovative product that provides a degree of entertainment while at the pool, walking trails, or any other solo activity, they could do worse than these sunglasses speakers. Not having earbuds cuts down on losing accessories, and there are no cords to tangle. I hope Bose, and others, keep up the research and design, as I think they're on to something here. The future's so bright, I have to wear shades.... Additional comments from wife: The sunglasses fit snugly but well for my "normal" female head. Wearing them on a walk around the neighborhood (in Florida) and they didn't do so well in the heat and sweat. They look good on with a nod to the more feminine side, but I wouldn't depend on them regularly as a pair of sunglasses in Florida since they started irritating my skin. As less of an audiophile than my husband, I enjoyed the sound. I felt almost immersed in the music when I was listening. It blocked out all outside noise which was great. I'd just be prepared for some instances where you might want to be able to hear someone interrupting your music listening. Love the concept, but agree with my husband that there are opportunities for improvement.

This has been a tough year, and music is one of the few things that keeps me sane. But l have others in my life that I just can't tune out all the time with earbuds. Enter these Bose glasses, the perfect ambient listening device. It's amazing that you can get clear, crisp sound without a speaker directly in your ear. I can easily have conversations while listening to music, and be attentive to my kids screaming (although sometimes I'd rather not be). It's also amazing that those around you can't really tell you are listening to music. I use these glasses for walks and hikes with the family, and they are perfect for listening to music while golfing without bothering your playing partners. I've listened to an entire ebook while out with the family, and have also used it to make phone calls without any issue. The glasses look great, although the arms are a tad thick, but what can you expect, they have to put a speaker in there somewhere. The only drawback is the sound quality, especially when going from high quality earbuds to these (the highs are not as sharp and the lows are not as deep). While the sound quality is not bad, it's a noticeable drop off. But I don't think you can expect perfect sound without the noise cancelling features of an earbud. And truthfully, if it's a choice between just ok sound quality and no music at all, I will take ok sound quality any day.

These Bose sunglasses are definitely one of my favorite tech gadgets. These have some new upgrades from the previous frames. One, is the style, awesome style, they look great. Then, the ease of using them with your phone! Slide your finger up and down the right side to adjust the volume. Tap twice to get to your assistant. Music and microphone quality are great! I love the fact that I can wear these instead of earbuds. The sound stays with you so if you are out walking everyone cannot hear what your are listening to. These are so fun, and the lenses are actually great! Polarized and easy to wear. They don't feel or look too bulky. I really like them. Such a fun gadget to have.

    Sound Quality You Expect

The first thing I think is important to note with this product is the sound quality they offer is what you expect to get when you purchase a Bose product. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the richness and overall quality. I've had a number of Bose speakers and headphones and so have certain expectations for what you'll get from them in terms of sound. These sunglasses met those expectations. All of that being said, I do think this is a bit of a niche product. I am very selective about my sunglasses, the way the look on me, the way they fit, and it's a hard product to buy without first trying them on. This particular pair fits fairly comfortably on me, but they feel different from what I normally wear and will take some getting used to. The good news is, there are a number of styles offered to give you options when picking a pair. If you find a style that suits you, then I say go for it because the sound quality is there and these are pretty fun to wear!
