Low Volume
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nice stylish design comfortable frames and interchangable lenses are available which is a plus. They are similar in design to Oakley Half Jacket glasses. The downside is that the volume level atainable from a bluetooth source is extremely low. The amplification lacks any pinch in an environmemt with high ambient soumd levels. I highly doubt anyone can use these with a riding lawn mower and still hear the music. Apples EarPod Pros pack far better audio output with a more immersive sound. Suprising from a Bose product, a company synonimous with quality audio from small devices.

The perfect exercise companion!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Tempo frames aren't quite a product that solve a problem you never realized you had. Rather they're ones that solve a problem you'd long since abandoned any hope of being solved at all. In my case, I've been filling the time that socialization used to take up in my pre-pandemic life with a lot of cycling, usually while listening to audio books from my phone. Usually when I'm out and about or exercising I'll use a very nice pair of wireless earbuds with support for pass through audio to avoid leaving me completely oblivious to the world around me. Unfortunately it didn't take long to realize this was never going to work on a bike, because where I live speed bumps are a thing and nothing can ruin a ride faster than seeing a very expensive earbud bounce its way along the pavement into traffic or a nearby storm drain. As such I've been stuck with much more basic wired earbuds, usually with one side left dangling to make sure I can at least hear well out of one ear. Now that I've got the Tempo though, I feel safe to say this is never going to be an issue again. While at first glance the Tempo looks like a fairly standard (if a bit chunky) pair of sport sunglasses, closer examination reveals that they are anything but. Each of the arms of the glasses contains a small speaker which can beam audio straight into your ears without needing to cover them. You don't need to worry about pass through. You don't need to worry about whatever you're listening to drowning out a horn or a shout. And you don't need to mess with any wires. They are, as far as I'm concerned, as close to the perfect solution to this problem as anyone's come so far. Using the things is very straightforward and painless. Pairing them with the Bose app took about two minutes from start to finish, including a brief walk through of the various remote control gestures supported by the glasses. Audio is astonishingly good for a speaker this small, particularly on the low end, and unless you're sitting very close to someone in a quiet room with the volume cranked up it's unlikely anyone but you will be able to tell. I ran a quick test on my roommate when I first got them to see if she could tell that I had music playing while she was sitting next to me on the couch. With the volume turned up she was able to tell that something was happening, but not much more than that. Battery life is also great. It charges via USB-C (VERY much appreciated) in about an hour, and will easily last all day with occasional use. I'll admit I've yet to find time to fully stress test them to confirm if the 8 hour runtime quoted on the box is accurate, but if the spoken notifications about battery levels are reliable I suspect it might actually be able to go a little longer. Once I got off the couch and onto my bike, the Tempo continued to impress. It was a little bit loose at first, however once I switched to the larger nose pads (included in the box) the things were rock solid on my face, and never so much as twitched when I hit the first big bump getting out of the parking lot and onto the road. Even with ample wind noise the audio from my phone remained clear, and the google assistant was quick to respond to any voice commands I had during the trip. At first I was a little concerned that it might prove uncomfortable for prolonged trips, as it does squeeze down on the side of your head a bit, but after the first few minutes the arms either loosened up or I stopped noticing. They also did an excellent job of standing up to several hours worth of accumulated dust, mud, and sweat while still staying thoroughly comfortable. By the end of the trip, I knew there was no going back to the dangling ear-buds.

The best thing to happen to sunglasses!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose Tempo Frames came very well packaged with a carrying case, charging cord and easy to follow quick start instructions. The case is really nice. It's a semi-hard, soft textured, fabric lined case with a pouch for the charging cord. The Frames came with three nose guard size options, which are comfortable and easy to switch out. The Frames have been great to wear when jogging and biking. I haven’t had any problem with them sliding around while working out. Even doing yard work in the hot sun, covered in sweat, these stay put well. They also seem to handle the sweat really well. I feel like the frames almost wrap behind my head a bit more than your average sunglasses which definitely adds to their stability while moving. There is a single button on the underside of the right side arm that controls all music and call related operations. One click turns the device on and pairs automatically if previously set up. Once the glasses are on, another single click will start music playing. While music is playing a single press will pause the music, two clicks will skip forward and three clicks will backtrack to your previous song. While music is playing and you receive a call one click will answer the call and one click will end it. On the outside of the right arm of the frames there is slide-touch volume control. Slide forward to increase volume and slide back to reduce. The way they designed the volume control is super easy to use and I have to admit that it looks pretty cool controlling them. So far I’ve used these while mowing, bike riding and jogging. Since these are not in-ear headphones they don’t work well in a loud environment. I attempted to wear them while mowing the lawn but even with the volume on maximum, the music was unrecognizable. While riding my bike they were AWESOME! Even at a low volume I could easily hear my music and the traffic around me. For safety reasons I choose not to use headphones while biking, so that I am fully aware of my surroundings, and these have given me the option to safely enjoy music, at a low volume, while riding my bike. The sound quality of Bose Tempo Frames is great! Crisp, clean and can get pretty loud when there isn’t too much outside noise interference. I will say I’d like to feel a bit more bass in them but for the size of the speaker the bass is decent. The tinting level is great and the sun blocking ability of the glasses work well without being too dark. The UV rating is UV 400 cut. The shape and design of the frames look great but are a little larger than normal sunglasses. Behind the upper right and left sides of the lenses the frame creates a slight obstruction in your view. Minor but noticeable. The “BOSE music” app is super easy to use and walks you through the setup of your new device quickly. It is supported on both iOS and Android. The battery life on the Frames is impressive. Over the past four days I’ve done yard work for at least an hour every morning and at least an hour of bike riding in the afternoons and I’ve just now decided to charge them. After 1 hour of charging you can stream for up to 8 hours before losing charge. After a quick 30 minute charge you can get a full 4 hours of music streaming. The Bluetooth connectivity works very well without any distortion or interference. I was able to walk to all points of my yard, which is pretty large, with my phone on the porch, and had no problems at all. Overall I’m very happy with the Bose Frames audio sunglasses. They look cool, sound great and are really fun to wear. I recommend these to anyone who enjoys listening to music while being active outdoors, take the music with you wherever you go!

Posted .Hi Drew,
I'm sorry to hear you found the Frames quiet. Did you try unpairing and re-pairing them? You should have more than sufficient volume levels when using this product so it's unusual you could barely hear them. If you haven't already, please try to establish a new connection to see if that helps.
Kind regards,

Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The whole idea behind this item is to enjoy music while having fun or enjoying the outdoors, they do that. Were I am disappointed is that they are just a speaker. Everyone can hear them, its like they put phone speakers on glasses. I actually was to excited and thought they were conductive so it is my fault. Riding motorcycles, mountain bike or even just walking around, your are blue tooth speaker in public. Good thing they don't get very loud. Nothing learned from the awesome Oakley Thump Eyewear. Jerry

Bose Frames Tempo
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good idea, however music isn't clear like normal Bose quality. I wanted them to listen to music while riding a motorcycle and the music wasn't loud enough and the frames hurt the sides of my head when wearing a helmet.

Genuinely one of the worst products bose makes.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're particularly active, I cannot recommend these. The slightest bit of sweat or rain will render all the controls useless. The lenses are too expensive to replace, and they scratch just as easily as any $10 pair. They slipped off my face at some point riding my bike and are now presumably hiding, in many small pieces, in a ditch somewhere. The sound quality isn't fantastic. The battery life is rough. The touch controls just don't work right half the time.

Defective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Defective. Lost WiFi connection after 20-30 seconds. Tried different troubleshooting solutions, but nothing corrected it. Sound quality was good while it worked. Needs its own app, which is inconvenient.

Posted .Hey Carol!
I'm so glad to hear that you like the sound quality too!
I'm sorry you are experiencing some issues with the connection, I'll be happy to point you in the right direction. The Frames do not connect to WiFi, they connect via Bluetooth. Therefore, I would recommend clearing the pairing list using the instructions which are outlined here: https://bose.life/38XwcxD. I would also recommend deleting the pairing from your source device.
I hope this helps!
