Sometimes you purchase and they work great like the previous generation to these. But this time they were defective. The earbuds would drop the connection to my Samsung device and completely unrecognize the device and it would take almost 1 hour of trying to connect them to the device again to get connected again. Extremely frustrating when you are on the go and don't have time to fidget with the earbuds. Also they don't fit in the ear nearly as well as the last generation, they did away with the proprietary silicone fit from the last generation and went with a bud type design with a piece that goes in the outer part of your ear but none of the silicone pieces actually fit my ear that it came with. I had to buy XL pieces from bose.com to make it remotely stick in my ear. Also I noticed the touch buttons have been changed to worse than the last generation, you don't have the same options to bind the touch that I used to be able to use. The noise cancelling also is different than the previous generation. When you are commuting on a train and the door closes between cars, the pressure shock from the door closing create a popping motion in your ear from the noise cancelling mechanism that is used in this model. Didn't have this issue with the previous gen. Any pressure wave in the air creates like a pop in your ear and is dangerous to your ear. The sound is the best in the business but other than it being small it is far worse than the last generation. The battery life isn't great either.

With regard to the noise cancellation concerns, ANC (active noise cancellation) is stronger and better than ever on the series II and the popping you mention is just a sensation due to the noise cancellation effect, and not a physical movement of the inner ear so please do not worry, it is not dangerous to the user in any manner.

My husband uses the Bose headset for his job as a a pilot and the quality of sound was just clear and beautiful. The same effect happens with the ear buds with the addition of light weight buds. The sound is truly unique and I would rate them with a higher score compared to the main competitors. We’re very happy with this purchase.

For calls they work OK I wouldn’t rate them the best, but definitely are passable. If you’re looking for something very comfortable and lightweight with top-notch music listening quality these are your earbuds!

Ended up getting Sony WF-1000XM4 instead, as good or better in all areas and at a slightly lower cost.

I am sorry to hear that your case is no longer charging, I would recommend using a charger that has the correct power ratings some products require minimum of 1 amp of current in order to recharge. Many USB ports on a computers can only provide a maximum of 0.5 amps of current.

I had the first model for nearly two years before the newest edition. The changes are well thought out and just as dynamic as the original. I love the new design being more compact and less bulky. Sound wise they’re lovely. Can’t say better only easier to handle. Even the charging case is new and improved. Sleek and upright design can fit into your pocket with ease. The new two part noise reduction apparatus is lightweight and really makes a great sound proof seal around your ear. The new system of different noise reduction levels is quite innovative. Congratulations on another milestone in earbuds technology. As usual I have to let everyone I know to get a pair and be ready to be amazed.
