Great Sound Quality but Disappointing Reliability

I purchased the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds True Wireless Noise Cancelling In-Ear Earbuds in Triple Black from Best Buy, and while the sound quality and noise cancellation are exceptional, I've faced some frustrating issues. The audio experience is immersive, and the noise cancellation works incredibly well in various environments. However, I've had to return these earbuds twice due to malfunctioning chargers. Each time, the charging case stopped working properly, which was quite inconvenient. Additionally, the microphone quality is subpar, making it difficult to have clear phone conversations. Despite these problems, the earbuds themselves deliver fantastic sound and comfort. If Bose can address the reliability issues with the charger and improve the microphone quality, these would be nearly perfect. For now, I'm cautiously optimistic but can't fully endorse them without reservations.

So I've been rockin the Bose soundsports for almost 2 years and decided to give these noise canceling earbuds a try. Easy to pair right out the box, literally open the case and it's already searchin to pair. Once the earbuds are in and paired, they sound great! Had some fun messin with the noise canceling since you can adjust the transparency of the noise you let through. Theyre comfy and sometimes i forget i have them on. They fit snug as well and haven't had them fall off, even when im taking off my face mask. Battery life is excellent, I haven't had them die on me yet and the case is basically my portable charger for them. Alright well lets get down to what I dont like... first there's no volume control on the earbuds. Its got a few touch commands like play, pause, answer and noise cancellation on/off but sometimes I just wanna lower the volume if my phone is away from me. Second, the left earbud requires the right earbud to be on which means you can't use the left while you try to charge the right. Third complaint, I've noticed when I'm in a quiet environment I hear what sounds like im in a wind tunnel. It doesn't happen a lot but when it does its annoying, its especially noticeable when my music volume is low. Like I said, I want to like them soo bad but these little things got me on the fence of whether to return them and keep rockin my soundsport wireless. So far, theyre not living up to the hype and I'm tryin to find excuses not to return them right away

      Hi Jeff,

Thanks for taking the time in providing us with your feedback. Glad to hear that you have enjoyed your previous SoundSport headphones and wanted to give our new product a try. We are happy that you have enjoyed these!

The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are uniquely able to let you choose your listening experience. Virtual silence is great for listening to music, but there are times when you need to hear the outside world as well. The acoustic package inside these earbuds is capable of producing deep low notes and exciting, lifelike sound no matter how loud (or soft) you like to listen.

Sorry that you are disappointed in the lack of touch controls regarding volume, we hear your comments and this will be passed on. As for the connectivity, due to the technical nature of these headphones and the way Bluetooth data is processed, the Bluetooth audio data is first sent to the right earbud (the primary) and then relayed to the left earbud after processing (the secondary bud) I apologize for any disappointment this provides.

      Kind regards,
Tegan - Bose Customer Support bose

After using the Bose QC earbuds for about a week, I am suitably impressed . The ANC is top notch and definitely beats the Sony WF-1000MX3 (which I have been using happily for a while). Though the audio is subjective, I've got to say that I like it. A little bass forward, it is otherwise well balanced and clean and sound good across multiple genres. Given their size (big), they are extremely comfortable to wear for long periods of time, I walk 1.5 miles every day between railroad and office and barely notice I am wearing them. The Bluetooth connection is rock solid. I work in mid-town Manhattan which is rife with interference and I've yet to experience a single drop-out. If you actually make phone calls, call quality is excellent (I've been told I sound great on the other end in limited use). Lastly, unlike the Sonys, these are rated IPX4, so they are sweat and splash resistant. The earbuds, at least for now, are not perfect. As I implied above, these things are big (a little bigger than the WF-1000M3). They're not as big as Bose's previous earbuds (they do not stick out like the Bose SoundSport), but discrete they are not. Also, given their size and the surface area of the touch surface, Bose could have added more touch functionality. You can start/pause music, answer/reject calls, invoke voice commands, and either skip forward (but not back) *or* get battery level. No volume, no skip back, no quick "hear-through" (though it is easy to cycle through the three ANC pre-sets). The software is also pretty bare bones, lacking functionality (no EQ for instance). The one nice feature Bose did include is the ability to adjust how much of your own voice you hear on calls. Overall, they are a fine choice, if you can justify spending $279. If they lowered the price to $229 (like the Sonys), these would be, hands down, an unreserved recommend (even with the shortcomings I mentioned).

    Great Active Noise Canceling

very impressive noise canceling, sound is bose great but could use some more bass. I don't know if mine is just faulty but at the very top volume there has been some distortion with some songs. Touch control could be a lot better than what's currently on. I have to use my device to control volume or to replay a song. Voice assistant is extremely annoying. Any kind of touch even from my hoodie summons the assistant and I'd have to stop what I'm doing to cancel this. Sadly there's no way to completely disable this. I'm not a fan of Voice assistant. Removing the buds from the ears stops play which is cool but the music restarts on it's own anyway. I can go on and on complaining but l say these are a lot better than the soundsport free which l returned only after 3 days of use, mostly due to battery life and connectivity issues of which thankfully these don't have. The battery is strong as promised and there's absolutely no lag or delay whatsoever on these. Overall these are awesome but I'm not sure that I'll keep them and wait for some updated ones. I got these after my Samsung earbuds went south on me. They were on sale at the time for the same price and these were Bose, so I said"why not" and went for it. I couldn't be happier. Granted, the ability to personalize the sound is limited, but with this quality there's really no need to do so in the first place. Crystal clear highs, just the right amount of bass, and the midrange is just about where it should be. Also, the sound dampening ability makes you feel as if you're the only one in the room, even if it's full of people and sounds. These are great earbuds. There no going back from here. It's quiet comfort for me.

I was hesitant on the price because I use ear earbuds daily when working out so they don't usually last long. But since I do use them daily I decided to upgrade to something better than the ones you buy for $40. I tried Beats by Dr. Dr Totally Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds which was half the price and while I like those, after talking to my son (young adult) who is far more saavy when it concerns to the "hot products" he ranted an raved about Bose in general and an older version of Bose earbuds he had. After telling me I would notice a big difference between the two pairs. So I bought Bose and tried them with the Dre and was blown away from the difference..WIth the bose as my son would say "you can feel the music" and it cuts out any and all background noise but doesn't muffle the sound if that makes sense. I use these when cutting the grass or weed wacking instead and I can hear the music better than I can the equipment. The background noise isn't cut out just because the music is loud, but the way Bose designs them I rarely every have to put my iphone on full volume when wearing these and I like the music loud. The battery lasts forever...I use about an hour a day and it takes 3-4 months before I need to charge them once they hit 40-50 percent..They are comfortable and i have no issues running with them and don't have to constantly adjust..THey also give you a few different sizes. The durability is supreme. I have accidently dropped each earbud countless times on hard cement floors and these have otterbox level durability. I loved these so much that I purchased a second pair for my son who needed an upgrade. In regards to connectivity, they connect and pair and doesn't feel like you need an engineering degree. In fact they will connect if leave my bluetooth on in my phone and don't manually turn these off...I just take them out, and throw them in the case. While this has never caused an issue with the batterly life, so I'm assuming they turn off, for whatever reason there have been times they have connected to my phone just by being close by..>But it's not a big deal so they def have connectivity. Bose has a customer for life...While some products are created equal and oftentimes you pay extra for the Brand logo displayed, this isn't the case with Bose earbuds. If you try the Bose Earbuds and then try any other brand, I promise you can tell the difference in quality, sound and connectivity. Buy them, don't be deterred if the price is the factor holding you back. I have had these about 8 months and still have had no issues. Typically the $40 versions of earbuds die after six months..

After trying different Wireless Earbuds, I chose this one because of its sound and NC quality (based on my previous experience since I already have another Bose Over-Ear Headphones) and my ear's ergonomy. If you are looking for in-Ear NC Earbuds to stay in your ear without worrying about falling off your ears, I recommend getting this. The NC quality is superior, as expected from Bose. No complaints about its battery life, It is long enough that You do not need to charge it often.

They sound good. They are comfortable in your ear and doesn't fall out. The biggest complaint I have is what I'm talking to somebody on the phone they say the background noise is so loud they can't hardly hear me. Also not being able to use the left one without the right one it's not something I would expect from higher end headphones

Glad to hear that you are enjoying the sound quality and the comfort of the earbuds.

It’s worth noting the Bluetooth connection occurs between the source device and the earbuds, and the microphone system that picks up your voice is all located within the right earbud. So if you are going to use one earbud, it is recommended that you use the right earbud instead of the left, as the right would go to sleep in about 20 minutes if not used.

These headphones are incredible. The sound is amazing and so is the technology involved, especially in comparison to similar priced headphones. The 'aware' mode isnt as good as id like, still somewhat difficult to hear people talking with them in but its do-able. The 'quiet' mode is great, especiallt with it being automatic. Highly recommend. Fitment is amazing as well. In ear headphones always hurt and were very uncomfortable to me. These are the first ones i can wear for my 8+ hour shift at work with zero discomfort.

They kinda deserve 3⭐️ But bc the of how well they shut out or cancel out the noise I gave them 4 The pros and cons for these earbuds are so big that I’m torn on if I’d even recommend them to a friend… So, first the Pro- straight to it- the SOUND is amazing.. The outside noise cancellation is so fantastic… they’re borderline dangerous to use if outdoors in a high traffic area.. The odds of you getting injured by a motor vehicle or some sort of collision go wayyy up because that’s how great the sound quality is and how well they cancel out any other worldly sound… And I haven’t run in to any issue with the battery dying out on me so..I think it’s safe to say the battery is decent. OK- Now my epic CON- ugh it’s borderline infuriating bc they’d be the perfect bud but The controls on these absolutely suck!! I have watched too many videos on how to use n control these earbuds that it’s ridiculous. And only about a quarter(1/4) of the times that I go to pause volume and/or change track on the earbud do they even respond much less, do what I am trying to get them to do.. you have to control everything from your phone if you want to change anything while listening to anything on these buds. And if your phone rings… forget it. So, I’m confident that that about sums these things up… So, if the ability to control the volume and/or track skip or replay are as kinda crucial n important to you like they are for me… Def go with Beats

PROS - Sound is near the top of the TWS ballgame. Soundstage is excellent for the design, great instrument separation, engaging mids/vocals, and a nice top end without becoming sharp or fatiguing. - Top-notch ANC. Still won't match the over-ear models from either Bose or Sony, but very effective and probably the best ANC in the true wireless realm. - Comfortable fit. Might be a little large for intense workouts, but works well for lifting and walking/stairs. CONS Touch controls are limited. No track rewind or volume controls. Hopefully this will be updated in the next firmware release.
