Missing the Mute

I was frustrated with my inability to find a mute switch. Even though I was told the capability is there; the closest I can find is the ability to "mute status functions" (who cares). Sound quality is good, but the case is bulky, and I still haven't found the trick to get it to open when I want (often takes many attempts at holding it differently and pushing the button in different ways. I'm trying hard to get used to the changes from my Plantronics headset, but these are clearly (like all current headsets) aimed at listening to music rather than making/receiving phone calls. I don't like it, but it seems to be the trend. I also cannot seem to be able to activate voice control, but that may be related to an old phone.

Posted .Hi, it's great to see you're enjoying the sound quality of the Quiet Comfort Earbuds. The earbuds have an option to mute when you remove the earbuds during use, you can make sure this is enabled by following the instructions here https://bose.life/3s7D4n9. The earbuds are meant for music use, though they are capable of being used for phone calls. Voice control is set up using the Bose Music app, and is compatible with Siri, Bixby, or Google Assistant, and settings for the voice assistant are controlled by the respective assistants app. - Nic Bose Customer Support.

I was in a bowking alley today that had music playing and with these in playing music at a medium level, i couldn't even hear the other music. I will say, Ive read stuff about bose and taoping into user's listening/ breaking privacy laws essentially, so that almost swayed me from buying.

Posted .Hey Mason, I am so glad you love the Bose noise cancelation. This does seem strange, that they are quieter when pairing with your watch than your phone. As it only happens with the watch, I would speak to Samsung and see if there is a setting needing changing. Your headphones support HSP, HFP, A2DP, BLE, PBAP, SPP Bluetooth pairing profiles. You will need to check if you watch supports them too.

My Bose soundsport free is old but much comfortable fit to my ears. Sound’s the same, a little weight but QC1 is much nicer to wear than Bose soundsport free,

I got these for my Boyfriend for Christmas as the ones he had (not Bose) we’re really acting up: I can NOT tell you how much he loves these- from the noise canceling to the sound quality even the quality as to how I hear him when we’re on the phone. If you’re thinking about getting these don’t think- GET THEM!
