Great True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds have great sound, a nice and efficient design and many convenient and useful features. Following are my observations after thoroughly testing them out: - These earbuds have a nice looking, slim design. They fit well in the ear and come with multiple sets of tips and bands so you can get the right fit for your ears. There is an earbud seal test you can use on the app to verify the seal you are getting in each ear. They are lightweight and I've been able to wear them comfortably for multiple hours with no issues. - There is a QR Code on the box that leads you to download the Bose App, which you use to set up and customize the earbuds, access instructions and tips, and update the earbuds when necessary. - Connection to my iPhone via Bluetooth was easy and I was connected is seconds. - The earbuds allow for Aware, Quiet (noise cancelling) and Immersive audio settings and you can toggle through them with a push of either earbud. You can also create your own custom audio settings. The Immersive Audio setting is unique. It can be turned off or you can select Still or Motion. The Still setting makes it sound like the the music is coming from a stage in front of you and adjusts to keep that feeling when your head is turning. The Motion setting lets the audio follow you as you move around. - You can set up shortcuts through the app to allow you to cycle through the audio modes, cycle through immersive audio settings, switch between Bluetooth devices, access a voice assistant or access Spotify. Each ear can be customized so you can cycle through different shortcuts you select for each ear. In addition, the earbuds allow for play/pause, skip forward or backwards, volume up and down or answering and disconnecting calls, all with simple taps or slides on either earbud. - The App also has an equalizer; a feature that I love. You can select from one of four provided EQ settings, or create your own custom EQ settings with the 3-band equalizer. I always enjoy adjusting the equalizer to the sound I prefer for whatever I am listing to. - The earbuds last for 6 hours in Aware or Quiet mode on a full charge, or 4 hours in immersive audio mode. The case holds up to three additional charges. - The noise cancelling feature works quite well, I can wear them around a noisy environment in the Quiet mode and it effectively cuts out the background noise. - Most importantly with earbuds is the sound. I tested these earbuds out with multiple genres of music, as well as loud/soft, instrumental, male/female vocalists, etc. I'm very impressed with the sound. The music was clear and crisp, with good solid bass and no distortion at any level I played them at. I tend to like a heavy bass punch and these earbuds delivered far better than you might expect for earbuds. - While this did not affect my rating of the earbuds and features, the one thing I found challenging was getting the box/package open. I had to rip apart and mangle the box as there didn't seem to be anyway to get the inner box to open or to slide out. in the end, this is a minor thing, unless you like to keep the box to store them in when not in use. The Bose QuietComfort Ultras (2nd Gen) are a great pair of true wireless noise cancelling earbuds.

My Go-To Travel Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using the 1st Gen Bose QC Ultra Earbuds for the past 2 years and these are a nice upgrade from that model that fixes a few flaws. The ANC is still the best on the market, and I noticed that the "hiss" that existed in the 1st Gen is now gone, leading to an even better experience. I'm on 30 flights a year on average, and I have tried other earbuds, but I always come back to the Bose. Nothing else is better at blocking out ambient noise while also sounding great. The immersive sound mode is nice when watching movies, but it will eat into the battery life and I prefer just regular ANC mode which gets you 6 hours of listening time. The charging case now offers wireless charging, something that was missing from the 1st Gen. Also, if you look at the ear tip compared to the last gen, you'll notice there's something I can only describe as an "earwax guard". Basically there's a grille that takes away a deep pocket that could accumulate dirt and earwax and need to constantly be cleaned. It's a small, subtle change, but useful. Otherwise the design, style and case are essentially unchanged from the last gen. Calls sound better on both ends thanks to the new AI features that help sort out ambient background noise. Although the noise cancelling, even with the ambient mode, makes it difficult to hear yourself when talking. My preference on calls is to just use one earbud unless I'm somewhere noisy and need both to hear better. Overall, these sound slightly better than the 1st gen and offer some newer features that are definite improvements. That being said, I don't know that I would tell current gen 1 owners to run right out and upgrade, as those ones are still great and very similar to these. But if you're in the market for a new set, or your first set, and you travel a lot and want the best ANC, these are it. And if you're considering the 1st gen, I would say go for these instead as the upgrades make them a little more future proof and enjoyable.

These Little Dudes Pack a Punch!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These earbuds are phenomenal! The sound quality is so crisp and fluid, it feels like I’m sitting in the studio with the artist. I love being able to catch the subtle inflections, breathwork, and pauses in the music. Those tiny details make the listening experience feel so intentional and intimate. It’s incredibly satisfying, especially with acoustic tracks or live recordings where nuance matters. Battery life has also been a standout. In my experience, they consistently last at least six hours, sometimes more depending on usage. I rarely find myself scrambling for a charger mid-day, which is a relief. And speaking of relief, the noise cancellation is insanely good. It’s been pretty windy the past few days where I live, and I’ve still been able to enjoy long walks without the usual gusts hijacking my playlists or phone calls. I can listen freely without feeling like the wind or random background chatter is part of the conversation. That alone makes them worth it. Comfort-wise, they’re a dream. My ears tend to get fatigued easily, especially with in-ear styles, but these fit snugly with minimal ache even after hours of wear. I’ve worn them through work sessions, errands, and even while winding down in the evening, and they’ve held up beautifully. I usually pair them with my iPhone, but they connect seamlessly with my other devices too, laptop, tablet, you name it. I hate lugging around a bunch of tech accessories, so the fact that these earbuds fill multiple roles and use USB-C (one charger for everything!) is a huge win. It’s such a space-saver and just makes life easier. Overall, I genuinely think these earbuds won’t leave you disappointed. They’ve checked every box for me, sound, comfort, battery, versatility, and I’m honestly kind of obsessed.

Earbuds That Deliver What They Promise
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a fantastic listening experience, consder the Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra Earbuds. These earbuds are made to provide the user with a solid ear contact without any outside noise--period! As a home theater enthusiast, I look for the equivalent sound that I get at my local cinema. With these earbuds, they provided me with the same brilliand and accuratew sound that I get there. Full orchestras sounded great. Of course, I also tried audio from vocalists and they sounded just as great. These earbuds may be the best sounding ones I have ever tried. Yes, they are pricier than others on the market, but your ears can tell the difference. Getting started should have been a no-brainer, but instead of including a Quick Start manual, Bose provides a barcode scanner to link to the manual using the QR scanner on your phone. After reading the manual's pairing instructions, things went very quickly: just press the button on the back of the case and you're paired in a matter of seconds! These earbuds make it very simple to make sure you have a solid seal to your ears. They provide several adapters, but I found that the one attached worked perfectly in my ear. Bose offers a test on their app to make sure the seal is perfect. How many other manufacturers offer that! If music is important in your life, seriously consider these earbuds. They provide the most accurate audio available. Sure you can pay more for earbuds, but why bother when these Bose earbuds deliver.

Comfortable fit, noise canceling, excellent sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A comfortable fit, excellent noise cancelling, and great sound make these ear buds a winner. If you don't need to read anymore than that, you can skip the rest of the review. If you'd like some more substance, read on! When I pulled the QuietComfort Ultras out of the charging case, I was a little concerned. They felt substantial in the hand, and they were a little larger than my previous set of buds. I wondered how long I would be able to wear them without getting fatigued. But my concern was baseless- once I had the right insert on them, they fit in the ears and sat there so comfortably that I wondered if they were going to fall right out. But they didn't. They made it through work outs, jogging, and eating. I didn't have to keep pushing them back in like i have other earbuds. I am very impressed by this! Sound quality is on par with other earbuds in this price range. I listen to a very wide selection of music, and the QuietComfort Ultras did not disappoint on any genre of music. When you download the app, you can select various listening modes. Quiet, which engages noise canceling. Active, which allows you to hear what is going on outside the ear buds. Then there is Immersion and Cinema, which both aim to supply you with different listening experiences. I don't mess with the modes much, but Quiet was my favorite. There is also an Immersive audio setting, which I messed with here and there, but found leaving it off gave the best sound for me. There is a lot of technology packed into these buds. All in all, a solid set of in ears, and worthy of the Bose name.

WOW just AWESOME
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WoW very impressed with the new BOSE Gen 2. i had an older set of Bose earbuds and was happy with the sound and the comfort. The Noise reduction was good they size of the earbuds was good light weight good looking and overall sounded like a Bose product witch is good. The case was small and it held a great charge they only problem is i broke them so now i got the GEN 2. These blow away my old BOSE earbuds when you put them in an turn them on the outside noise just goes away you don't hear any of it. WOW the sound of these is truly awesome the size is smaller and they don't stick out of my ears at all so you wont bump them. The charging case is taller maybe a little bigger then my older one. They sound great and look great they do have one problem and that is taking 2them out of the charging case. They don't lay down you stick them straight in and the top of the earbuds stick out and that's not a lot of finger gripping space for bigger fingers to grab them out. That was the only flaw i have found on these. SO awesome sound great look light probably one of the best earbuds i have owned so far. I have had around 6 or 8 other pair and these are one of the best ones yet.

Amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing and so comfortable! So I found myself in need of a new pair of daily use earbuds.( my old favorites quit charging.) But I had not seen anything that caught my attention. Until I came across the new in ear, noise canceling set from Bose. The Bose QC ultra 2. These are now my new favorite. Super clean and clear audio. Lots of low end Bass. Clean and clear Midrange and crystal clear highs. They are however an in ear style headphone. But they come with 3 different sized in ear tip covers and outer lobe pieces that are a very soft gel. They are so comfortable. I typically wear them 8-10 hrs a day while im working and have had zero ear pain or fatigue. Which we all know how uncomfortable hard plastic ones can be. Back to the Sound though! Have I said they sound amazing. I listen to a very broad variety of music and havent found any that dont sound incredible. Whether Im listening to hip-hop and rap or some heavy metal. Deep, deep Bass or the crisp clean highs of a symbol crash. They do not fall short. I have never been happier with a set of ear buds in my life. Super easy to pair and control them through the Bose app.

Typical Bose sound quality, software needs improv
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's a lot to like about the Bose Quiet Comfort Connect 2, and a few minor distractions. The sound quality is of course excellent, and typical for Bose products. Bass is rich and the treble is crisp. One thing I would recommend is to use the equalizer in your music app instead of in the Bose app. I detected a little bit of distortion when increasing the base in the Bose app that I did not hear in the music player app. The noise canceling features are top notch. The silent mode works as well or better than any other noise canceling earbuds I have tried. There are built in modes for active listening or when you are physically moving (walking, running), as well as the ability to customize the noise canceling to your taste. Battery life is pretty typical. Bose claims around 6hrs and that is about what I experienced. One negative in my mind is that it takes 3 hours to fully charge the case, which seems slow. A couple of minor gripes: 1. The Bose app seems very sluggish. It takes an inordinate amount of time for settings to take effect. This probably has to do with the speed of the wireless connection between the device and the earbuds, but I think this needs improvement. 2. I connect the earbuds to a laptop more often that to my phone, and it seemed like the earbuds either lost connection or went into some kind of sleep mode very quickly. I find I need to regularly reconnect the earbuds to a laptop.

Earbuds that fit - finally!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My ears have always had issues with fitment regarding earbuds. The main player is this market has never fit well even with each iteration that is supposed to be compatible with more ear shapes than the previous. They just don't stay put and simply fall out with any slight head motion. So, I've had to resort to earbuds that either have 'wing tips' that loop underneath the crevice in your external ear or the more sports oriented buds that have a loop or hook that wraps around the top of your external ear and holds the buds in place. With all that said, I'm super excited as it seems that these Bose earbuds have finally solved my problem without having to use those 'crutches' mentioned above. I'm happiest about this regarding these earbuds...everything else is pretty much secondary. That's not to say that the other features are anything to sneeze at, but they work as one would expect them to work coming from Bose. The ANC is top notch as is the battery life. Additionally, I haven't had any issue with the controls. They seem intuitive and work probably 90 to 95% of the time. For me that's great.

Exceptional ANC & telephony; OK Audio Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box: • QuietComfort Ultra (2nd gen) earbuds • USB-A to USB-C charging cable (12-inch) • Large, medium, and small ear-tips and stability bands • Charging case Note: The product comes with no instructions other than a QR code. Setup: Initial pairing of the QuietComfort Ultra 2nd-gen (QCU2) with iPhone 15 was straightforward with the Bose app. Pairing with other devices (i.e., without the Bose app) requires that the earbuds be in the case with the lid open. A long press on the button at the back of the case puts the buds in pairing mode (indicated by a blue flashing light on the inside of the case). An update for QCU2 was available and I went through the installation process. The app takes you through the process and warns that it may take up to 45 minutes to complete. This turned out to be a reasonably accurate estimate. The update must be done with the earbuds out of the case until the very end. Placing the earbuds in the case before the progress indicator reads 100% pauses the update. The QCU2 can be used normally during this time. At 100%, the app tells you to put the earbuds back in the case with the lid closed and indicates that the light on the front of the case should blink rapidly until the update is final. I did not see any flashing light but checked the app to confirm that the update was successful. Design: Despite their relatively bulky size, the fit and comfort were good for me. The included ear-tips and stability bands should provide the same for most users. The earbuds fit easily into the charging case but their slick exterior and rounded contour make them difficult to remove. I have not had them slip out of my grasp but can imagine them doing so (and at the worst possible moment!) Operation: The Bose app includes some advanced controls: • Modes: Quiet, Aware, Immersive, Cinema modes are available by default. Customized mode settings can be created with varying degrees of noise cancelation. • 3-band equalizer: +10 to -10 in increments of 1.0 (dB?) and 4 pre-sets • Bluetooth pairing was simple on iOS phone using the app. Instructions for pairing without the app are buried in an online Help Article rather than under Manuals & Downloads. After finding the instructions, pairing with other devices was straightforward. The app retains a list of paired devices and can be simultaneously connected to any two of them simultaneously. • Touch controls: The touch-pad on both earpieces can be customized to control the listening mode and playback and telephony functions. • Wear sensor. When enabled, playback is paused when earphones are removed and restarted when put back on. However, when music is paused, it begins playing again when one earphone is removed. Telephony: Phone calls were excellent on both ends. The QCU2 is a great choice for teleconferences and videoconferences. ANC: ANC performance is exceptional! The QCU2 generates a series of tones each time they are inserted to determine the acoustic properties of your ear and tunes ANC accordingly. The result is a jet black background. Pass-through works well in Aware mode. Audio Quality: Frequency response and sound stage were assessed with a Hi-Res DAP with LDAC codec, flat equalization, and sharp roll-off filter (on the DAP). I prefer an uncolored frequency response without thumping bass or sibilant highs. The QCU2 sound signature is V-shaped and tends to favor the bass and treble at the expense of the mid-range. Unfortunately, the app only provides 3-band equalization limiting the extent to which fine adjustments can be made. The QCU2 audio performance is not what I had hoped for from Bose. Bass notes were thick and muddy (featured tracks 1, 2, 7, 11, 15, & 21). Mid-range and vocals were overshadowed by the bass (featured tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, & 14). Hi-hats and cymbal brushes were well represented and easy to hear (featured tracks 11, 12, 13, 15, & 18) but, like the bass, tended to distract from the mid-range. The sound stage was very good. Binaural recordings, jazz, and orchestral recordings were well-presented and spacious. With the notable exception of the bass, the QCU2 had good instrument separation (featured tracks 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 22, 23, & 24). The Immersive and Cinema modes use crossover (and other acoustic wizardry) to provide a more spacious sound stage and can improve the presentation of some older stereo recordings. This effect was most notable (and welcome) for tracks on Miles Davis’s Kind of Blue (see featured list below) where it also tempered the V-shaped sound signature a bit. For more modern recordings, the sound signature was improved but at the expense of some substantial distortion in the mid-range (e.g., featured track #3). Battery: The charging case can be used with either a magnetic charging base or by USB-C. Magnetic charging may be convenient for users with the proper base. I have not worn them continuously for the advertised 6-hour battery life but battery levels for the earphones and case are consistent with published technical specifications. Overall: Bose is known for their first-class ANC and the QCU2 meets all expectations in that regard. Telephony is also excellent. The V-shaped sound signature may be fine for some users and applications but I will use something else for listening to my music collection. Immersive and Cinema modes can improve the sound stage and instrument separation on older stereo recordings but add distortion to more modern tracks. This is my first set of Bose earphones so have no reference for noting differences between 1st and 2nd generations of the QCU or other products in the QuietComfort line. Featured tracks: 1. Laurence Juber: Guitar Noir: Blues De Luxe 2. Miles Davis: Kind of Blue: Flamenco Sketches 3. Nora Jones: Come Away with Me: Don’t Know Why I Didn’t Come 4.
