Bose needs manual buttons

Not worth the $450 price.

Disappointing

That’s not what I experienced. It was a big disappointment. I returned it and got something better and cheaper

Slim & great sound

We have an older sound bar & this is longer a bit heavier & about half the size in height so it fits nicely in front of tv without blocking the view. Sound is very loud & sounds great with tv, movies & music. The app would not work with iPod so I tried with iPhone & it paired quickly, Bluetooth paired quickly with iPod. Remote is small & thin & easy to use. Paired easily with Alexa & i was able to access Pandora through voice control & also the app where you can pause music,it keeps saying connection lost but music is still playing , not sure what that’s about. My old speaker had a green power light to show it was on, this makes a sound when on but the light is a bit dim & harder to see. I don’t see any options to change bass/ treble either but I’m still checking it out. Very happy with it though as I always am with their products.

Not quite sure what happened to Bose superior sound with this one. This would be useful ifbyou were using it in a closet, but not a full size room. Just my opinion though.

Not good with Samsung

It does not work well with Samsung TV. The sync is off with the TV and sounds like the speaker lowers. I would go with a different brand.

But the ability to control the unit was impossible. App's didn't work, no instructions with the unit so it was more than frustrating. I ended up returning it.

Do not confuse with the soundtouch 300

Alexa doesn’t work, half the time the thing won’t even turn on and I have to take it off the wall and unplug it. If you don’t have a subwoofer to go with it you have no bass. It doesn’t support the Bose universal remote. The only good thing about this unit is the clarity of the voices in what your watching. Oh also it doesn’t support Dolby atmos. For the price of this thing I am extremely unhappy.

Sony and Bose are not reliable

Geek Squad cannot fix. Dont buy if you have Sony TV Same with woofer and surrond speakers. $1000+ down the drain.

Perfect Starter Soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I go through soundbars like water. They are the make-or-break of any home entertainment experience. Bose's Smart Soundbar 300 is my favorite of the most recent wave of smart soundbars. Many manufacturers believe that tossing Alexa or Google Assistant on the soundbar makes it qualify as "smart". Not so when the UX is sub-par. Here's what Bose did to go above and beyond: - synchronous power-on: when your TV turns on, your soundbar turns on - all the cords (including optical) are included in the box - angled power and angled optical ports to avoid smashing against the wall and/or the base of your TV - expandable without cords (there are additional surround and subwoofer speakers you can add) - mutable and power-on with buttons on the top of the device - mutable and controllable with your smartphone with an app that doesn't suck - mutable and controllable with the included remote - Bluetooth connections that are fast and actually work well to stay connected - Integrated music services with almost all the major providers - Voice recognition that actually works - Infinitely selectable volume levels (the incremental increases/decreases are in small increments which is amazing for setting the volume "just right"). The setup took all of 5 minutes. I spent more time tearing down the box than setting up the device. On top of all of that awesome UX/UI setup: the soundbar actually sounds good. Yeah, out of the box and for the price point, I wish they'd have included one or two more speakers or even a small subwoofer... but honestly, the bass it does produce on its own, the range and sound quality, and the volume are all very, very good - exactly what you'd expect from Bose. The footprint is smaller than soundbars with less sound production as well. If you're getting set up for the first time, this is a great, expandable system to start with (or in my case, re-start with), not just because it sounds great - that should be expected - but because it'll save you so. much. frustration vs soundbars with worse UX/UI.

Connectivity issues

I have a Samsung TV and it would mysteriously drop signal and revert back to the tv speaker although it was connected via USB. After searching Internet forums I found out this was an issue common issue. I do not recommend this product at all.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing some issues with your connectivity. This is very strange behavior.
You should know that you are unable to connect the Smart Soundbar 300 to your TV using a USB connection. If you are unsure, check out this link here: https://bose.life/3qSu81i, with instructions on how to set this up if you are unsure.
I would recommend a reset to help with the connectivity. You can do this by unplugging the soundbar from power for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

Pretty Nice Soundbar

I have listened to music, played movies, and watched regular television. I like the fact that this does amplify the sound much better than the default TV speakers. I like that this soundbar does provide some additional bass, because that's what I love to hear when I'm watching movies and listening to music. The bass could stand to be deeper/stronger because when I hear base, I want to hear it THUNDER! But this was not created to be a home theater system so I keep that in mind. I'm looking forward to adding Bose surround sound speakers and the Bass Module to get the complete effect.
