    Worth the extra Money!!!

I purchased the Soundsport and was not happy so I paid the extra money for the Soundtrue Ultra. Contrary to some negative reviews I have seen, I found the volume to definitely be high enough especially since the earphones block most outside, unwanted sound. They are much more comfortable and fit better than the Soundsport or any other earphone that I have ever tried. They don't even make my sensitive ears sore over long periods of use. I use them during weight training and do not experience the "feedback" or cord noise that some other reviewers mention. Also, with the Stayhear tips (watch the video on Bose website that shows how to put them in your ears) they stay in my ears without having to press them back in after every move like most other earphones. The quality of the sound is excellent as well! You will be happy with them!

I bought these to replace my broken beats headphones. The sound is much clearer and much more immersive.Sound quality is top notch.I use these with my iPod touch at the gym and with my iPhone when walking around. They are very comfortable and stay in place. If these break i will not hesitate to but another pair.

Listen to all the negative reviews

There's a reason all the previous Bose owners, like myself, are saying to stay away from these. Bose has made some of the best sounding and most comfortable earbuds on the market, but these have really disappointed. The new in-ear stay true design is uncomfortable and causes a lot of cable noise, uncomfortable pressure, and all the other problems people complain about. The drivers are both visibly and audibly smaller compared to the ie2's that I own and the volume really suffers from that. They used smaller and less powerful drivers in substitution for a more in-ear isolated design of the stay true tips. These headphones lack volume, deliver less clarity than previous models, and will be a waste of your time. Save yourself a trip back to the store, stick with Bose Sound True or Sound Sport.

    Good sound for the price

I had a pair of these Bose headphones for the a little over an year, there were amazing until they got old. The sounds is decent, not great but you'll like it, lows are rich/deep and the highs are clear. The noise isolation is one of my favorite parts, you can't hear anything when you get these on. Over about an year, the wiring started falling apart from everywhere, the buttons got stuck and were hard to use, the gold on the jack was stripped off, and the sound compared to a pair of Skullcandy. Keep in mind though, I gave these headphones a good beating. These are a nice pair of headphones, I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good isolated sound, that won't break the bank... I am currently at my second pair

GREAT SOUND BUT BAD FOR RUNNING

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As usual, Bose headphones sound great, are very noise canceling and sound isolating. However, these headphones reverberate (not sure if that is the right word) in your ears while you are running. Its like you hear them bouncing inside of your ears which is very annoying. Also, when your heart rate is up, you can hear your heart beat in your ear as well. Also very annoying. I would only recommend these for listening when you are not doing any hard exercise.

    Good for sitting and listening

Good for the proper application which is sitting and listening. Not for exercising or even walking, since they are not heavy duty and you pickup a lot a sounds when the cord hits against your body or rubs against your shirt. I use them for sitting and listening, mostly at work, and they go a good job with sound quality and comfort for this application. I have the bose sound sport wireless for more ‘active’ type listening.

    Incredible sound

I've had a number of different brands of ear buds over the years, going clear back to the early Walkman, and I have never experienced music like with these. First, the comfort level is over the top. No pressure in my ears, but a very good seal to isolate sound. And the sound itself was studio quality. I clearly heard passages that I didn't even know were in the songs. A truly awe inspiring experience.

I have just solved my problem with a snoring husband. First these ear buds fit perfectly in my ears and don't come out even when I sleep. The sound is excellent along along with the volume. I downloaded sleep sounds such as pink noise and rain and I can sleep without hearing my husband. Thank you Bose for saving my marriage!

The bass may be richer in the Ultra, but in my opinion the originals provided much better bass overall. These headphones reduce the sounds of the area around you which can be a positive or negative depending on your style. Vocals are clear and better than the originals.

    Great Fit, Disappointing Sound

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Went to these from X2 Jaybird and Beats brand thinking I'd give Bose a try. Pros: -The fit is the best I've experienced. Neck and neck with the fit of the Monster iSport Victory. -Lightweight -I had no issues with the cord noise. Wearing it on the outside usually minimizes the noise. Cons: -Disappointing sound quality (for Bose brand) -Fragile (or it seemed to me). I was afraid to handle normally because the set seemed very fragile I went back to the X2's the next day. Hate that the Monster iSport Victorys are hard to find because i like the volume and sound of a wired headset. I've had Beats, iMonster, and X2. For the money, either one of those are better than the Bose SoundTrue Ultra

    Distracting Sounds from Cord

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have used the Bose SoundSport for years, and before that, its predecessor. I get the extended warranty, which is worth every penny. Yesterday, I returned the SoundSport for an exchange because the remote buttons were damaged. The local store didn't have any SoundSport replacements in stock, so I had to get the SoundTrue Ultra. Yes, they do isolate the sound very well, but at a price. Every bump or brush of the cord coming from the earbud projects sound into the earbud. It happens if I turn my head, scoot in my chair, breathe, or tap on the wire. It is very annoying, and a serious flaw in the design. Also, the cord is stiff in comparison to the SoundSport, so it is less comfortable. This stiffness probably contributes to the sound transfer. I switched from the Medium Ear Tips to the Small, to see if that made a difference in sound transference. It did reduce it considerably, but then the earbuds felt too loose, and like they would fall out of my ears. Remember, I had no such problems with my SoundSports. Finally, where the cord splits into left and right, there is a bulky tee. By comparison, the SoundSport had a wye split, which was minimal and comfortable. The ratings are high for this product, so it makes me wonder... am I the only one who has this issue with the ear buds? Hard to imagine.

Bose sound true ultra worst Bose earbuds yet

These will be great if you never owned a pair of Bose earbuds. This will be my 3rd pair of earbuds 4th if you count the wireless soundsport. The first gen of soundsport was the best sencond gen was really good but not as quite good as first gen with sound quality and bass. The third gen soundtrue Ultra suck!!! Worst Bose earbuds I've ever bought. The sound is clear the bass is barely there even if you turn it up all the way. I will be returning these... very disappointed with them. I also bought the wireless too and those are awesome sound GREAT!!! Don't wast your time with these if you have more than one pair of Bose to compare to you won't like them AT ALL!!! If you've never worn or heard Bose earbuds you'll probably love them cuz you don't have another pair to compare with. Worst sound from Bose yet can't believe they put these out comparing to the others. I had all gens of soundsport. It is very clear sound if you like bass these are not for you... HIGHLY recommend wireless soundsport bass is deep highs are clear very comfortable. Go wireless over these no contest. Can't get over how bad these are such trash no wonder the price went down to 129.99 before these they were always 149.99 they definitely cut back on sound quality on these.

I was looking for a good pair of headphones to use with my iPhone for listening as well as to make phone calls. These are perfect. Excellent sound. Seals out noise so I can hear even with background noise. No complaints from people on the other end of the phone about hard to hear me.

    Good sound, weak durability

Pro - These have sounded great, stay put, good sound isolation, fairly comfortable for long wearing. Happy for a while. Con - The cable jacketing has not held up well at all. At 6 months of age, the plastic sheathing over the cables is coming apart at the jack and at the two from one split. Today, the left ear went dead. They are used daily for hours on end. I expected more life than they provided. Good thing for warranty contracts.

    A True Disappointment

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This pair of headphones are, scientifically speaking, the best sounding wired in-ear headphones money can buy. They have the most ideal frequency response out of hundreds of others, making them the most accurate sounding in their class, in history. It's such a shame, though, that the work of the sound engineers is pitifully marred by the horrible worksmanship. The thin, skimpy headphone cables are prone to failure. During normal use, with no accidental severe ripping or tearing or pulling, the sound in the right earphone failed. And it never stopped working again. The sound is 5/5, but if the headphones barely last, it doesn't matter how good it is. The designers using a thicker, inner-reinforced wire would have solved this. But they didn't. And so you can't trust these headphones to be reliable at even a basic level. And other reviews complaining about the quality prove it again and again. So unfortunately, these headphones are a failure. 2/5 Stars. This 2/5 star review has been posted on multiple platforms.
