Very Different
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since it's on sale, good buy. I use it around the house and at work. Their basically speakers on your neck. If you turn the volume down you can still hear it perfectly while others can hardly hear it.

Excellent sound and good volume
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered to wear when riding the motorcycle. Volume is just not quite loud enough. For any other use I can think of it'd be a great speaker. Quality sound that you'd expect from Bose. Would probably be great when bicycling, walking, etc. but just not enough for the motorcycle.

SoundWear Delivers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've been using the Bose SoundWear Companion for about 3 weeks now and I have to say I'm impressed. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as this really is a new design in a listening device. After all is said and done this is a product that I would recommend to others. The good: Sound quality - is very good. The sound is full and crisp. It is important to note that the sound isn't as immersive as pair of earbuds or cans and as such it takes some getting used to. It is what you'd expect though, somewhere between good external speakers and earbuds/cans. The sound defintely grew on me the more I wore speaker. I was leary of the speakers being able to produce a deeper bass sound but I've actually had to turn down the bass setting in the Bose Connect app to keep the sound balanced. Durability - seems solid. I obviously haven't dropped them on purpose to see how they would hold up but they feel well built. They flex easily and do not give any indication that they would snap at all. I wrestled with them taking the cloth cover off to get a look under the hood and they flexed about without any issue. The cover itself stretches just enough so it fits quite snug but can still be removed and spot cleaned or replaced with another color. Ease of Use/Compatibility/Setup - This is an area where less is more. If you have another Bose product you are already familiar with the Bose Connect app that has evolved to "just work". If you've not used the Connect app, you download the app and it will provide a product tour in lieu of a written or online manual, although you can still get instructions online and there is aa quick start guide included in the box. After going through the product overview the Connect app with help you pair the speaker with your bluetooth device. Boom, done. You really don't need to open the Connect app after that as your music will play through your music player of choice. I'm currently listening on a Nexus 5x using amazon Music and everything works perfectly. As far as ease of use, if you've previously used any in ear/can speakers with controls on the device than you are good to go. Nothing new to learn and again less is more when it works and it does. Appearance/design - is classic Bose. Clean, black, sleek, and functional. The cover is soft cloth on top and soft stretched leather(pleather maybe) on the back where they rest on your neck. The Bose moniker on the top center of the device but it is subtle and unassuming. The not as good(Nothing is really "bad") The charging port. This would be my biggest complaint but I'm not sure that I have a solution other than what the folks at Bose came up with. The port is located under the cover after you pull the zipper back just a little bit to access it. This seems to be the best option as it keeps the port and the speaker covered. The downside with this though is that in low light and even just in general it can be difficult to get the charging plug in easy. This isn't a huge issue as battery life is very good but it is an issue. I can see this being less of an issue when USB C becomes more ubiquitous. While this speaker provides for the listener to be aware of their surroundings, it does mean that others are going to hear your music. I had hoped it would be more subtle but I've found that at a comfortable listening level for me, my family in the same room can hear the music. If you are in a room with a door closed or an office with a door closed you are going to be ok. I don't think it would be serviceable for public transportation or a cubicle setup. The sound takes some getting used to compared with other mediums. The sound also does change some based on how you are sitting or walking as your shoulders shrug and relax. It isn't significant but it is there. I have adapted comfortably to both of these within a few hours of use. Lastly, the design of fitting around the neck isn't for everyone. It again takes some getting used to. I can't see any other setup being more comfortable than the ay Bose has it setup. It can rest near your collarbone which may be an issue for some people. If you find the zipper is resting uncomfortably, make sure you tuck it into the flap where it rests when pulled up all the way and it will be more comfortable. I had my 6 and 9 year old kids try the speaker on as well and they both said it was comfortable and they enjoyed wearing and listening to it. Keep in mind too that the speaker isn't designed for active workouts as it will bounce around. Walking, sitting, and trotting to another room in the house or out to check the mail is fine though. To finish where I started I will reiterate that I'm quite happy with the SoundWear Companion and would recommend them without reservation.

Its started off well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my 82 year old dad as he was worried about his TV bothering his neighbors in his new Sr Apt. We got the Soundwear connected to his TV and everything was great. Had I wrote the review then, 5 stars as it sync'd easily and it sounded great, no lag. Exactly what we were looking for... Fast forward a month... Now the pairing still works great, as soon as you turn on the Soundwear it immediately begins playing the sound on his TV. However now, it has developed a studder, almost like the BT is losing momentary connection. Very irritating. Going to try and pair it with something else to troubleshoot, but something that worked great that now works kinda not so good, may need to geek squad it and return it for another one.

Posted .Hi there, and thank you for sharing your current thoughts on our SoundWear Companion!
I'm glad to hear that your dad has been enjoying this, and i'm sorry to hear that you recently started experiencing issues here.
You noted that you're going to test this with another device. I would also suggest that when you pair to that device, you check to confirm that the system is up to date from the Bose Connect app if possible! I would also recommend that you clear the Bluetooth list of the TV and the Companion, then pair these again. You can clear this on the SoundWear when this is powered on by pressing and holding the "Bluetooth" button for 10 seconds until the tone is heard.
Thank you again for your time, and please follow up with Bose Support if you need further assistance!

It’s ok.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had it now for 3 weeks and it’s ok. I use it at work. It’s comfortable to wear it doesn’t look crazy on your neck. You will be asked what is that a lot. As for the sound. Well. It’s just ok. It’s not worth $300. But I got mine for $150. And it’s still a little priced to high. For what it is. The disappointing part of this is. It’s to loud. People all around can hear everything especially your phone calls. There’s no privacy. I thought it would be better projecting the sound to my ears. But nope. It sends the sound every where. Kind of annoying. I think bone conducting head sets are way better and way more private. Plus sound just as good. So I don’t recommend this. Not worth it. I really wanted to like these. They had potential but failed.
