Overall, it's a good looking and perfectly sized unit. Regrettably, the SoundTouch application needed to control the unit and link it to the internet does not function properly. It's simply does not sync and the unit does not stay connected to the internet. The unit is far too expensive not to have all the functionality you paid for and Bose brags about. In retrospect, I should have read all the complaints about this unit's lack of functionality before I bought it. I'm really surprised that Bose hasn't fixed this problem. As far a I'm concerned, their reputation is shot and their product is junk.

The base is so strong it is irritating to listen to. There is no way to adjust that. You have to be a space scientist to set up the sound touch system. I am not a space scientist, so will now have to hire the Geek Squad to do it for me. Perhaps that was all by design.

I bought this product for Bluetooth capability. I didn’t know that it was only “passive Bluetooth”. It cannot be used as a source of music but the will play through Bluetooth from another source.

Actually purchased unit in December to use fo rstreaming MSO concerts. That part worked very well and I was extremely happy. I made the mistake of trying to play a CD in this unit, and CD player became inoperable with CD stuck inside. Best Buy at that point no longer stocked this item so received store credit for purchase price. Then noticed Bose was selling these same units at a $200 discount through HSN, so there must have been manufacturing issues.

    Sound isn’t great. Can’t believe it’s a Bose product. I’d prefer a richer bass response. What can I say. It’s a $500 dollar mistake.

The new wave is good for listening to cds, but we don’t get good radio reception. There is no hand dial to help tune in the stations we like.

So I will start with that I only use this radio for music so I cant comment on the alarm features. I originally was not happy with the difficulty with setup with my wifi and getting my mobile devices connected. It still has some issues connecting automatically but whatevs. I would like to knock one star off for Tidal not being a native application supported but its not that serious but still come on Bose! Ok..... so for sound and lets be real, this should be its only rating. Yes, $600 is a lot of money for a clock radio but lets be honest, this is no ordinary clock/shelf radio. I love the sound and when Im playing lossless audio from Tidal, you honestly cant get better sound from a 600 dollar music box. This little guy fills my living room, people are amazed where the sound is coming from. If your expectations are inline and you are not expecting sound like you would from a 5k sound system then you will be very pleased. Its perfect for our needs, just stream quality music or use CD's and you will be happy with the sound.

Disappointed with its sound quality, not as good as the soundtouch 20 that's half the price. Background hiss too, I returned it.

in addition, it is dependent on the remote, if that is lost , misplaced or broken, you have a $600 music box that does not work

I expected the sound to be clear and refined. It was neither. The sound was muddled. When I went into the settings to make adjustments to the sound...it sounded like a tin can. My husband and I were extremely disappointed. It was returned.

Excellent sound, lots of options, missing a couple

I had the original Bose wave table radio and recently upgraded to the Sound Touch IV. The radio reception is better than my old Bose, sound is much better, and it is great to have the CD player. The ability to stream internet radio is really nice and the sound quality is excellent, but be aware that it ONLY can do this through a phone based app. The radio itself has no real internet connectivity otherwise, or, at least, no INTERFACE to do so. Also, while you can stream audio TO the bose via Bluetooth, you CANNOT stream the audio playing from the Bose TO a bluetooth speaker or headphones. So if you wish to use a remote speaker you need to get additional (pricey) BOSE speakers, which, frankly, annoys me a lot. And while there is a headphone jack you can plug a bluetooth transmitter into, it shuts off the main speaker, so you can stream but you won't be able to have the Bose speaker playing as well. An "audio out" jack like the old Bose had would fix that. All in all a great piece of equipment, but full bluetooth compatibility for speakers and headphones would make it perfect.

Extremely unimpressed by the sound— even with the bass turned all the way up it doesn’t sound great. Have listened to a variety of music to see if that makes a difference- it does not.
