Those mounts have a very powerful magnet, however, some cases make it more difficult for the magnet to hold to the metal plate, so you many want to try moving the metal plate to the outside of your phone case. Not completely sold on it .....

The magnet seems to be a strong hold. After reading reviews about the clips breaking, I'm leery of that in the future. My current issue - the pivot ball is not strong enough to hold my iPhone 8 Plus. The weight of the phone drags the pivot down, almost to the point where I can't see the screen very well. This is enough to prompt me to return it VERY soon, as it's really annoying. And for $35, I know I can find a better mount. Bracketron - offer me a solution quick or I'm done with it.
