I would recommend adjusting the lever on the mount to a precise position so that your phone can easily be clicked in place and pulled out without adjusting the lever again. The mount is designed so that you only have to adjust the lever once to fit your phone, and then it can be clicked in and out of place with one hand. I recommend cleaning off both the suction cup on your mount as well as the surface of your vehicle with water, in order to ensure that there is no residue blocking suction. Then, you can insert your device in and out of the mount without pressing the button again, as long as you have found the perfect width. The mount was fine but there were multiple issues with the clip. Pretty cheap material. You can't overuse and isn't good for phones with cases. It should be easy to replace the mount but even the manufacturer's website doesn't offer a good replacement for a decent price.

I would suggest cleaning off your windshield as well as the suction cup on the mount with water in order to ensure there is no residue blocking the suction. In case your dashboard is not compatible with suction mounts, please also consider Bracketron's other mount applications, such as cup holder, CD Slot and Vent mounts.
