Not only do you then lose your GPS but you may instinctly try to catch it which may take your focus from your primary task, driving.

We had a previous one that lasted a couple of years before finally giving up. We decided to get another one that broke the next day of use. My spouse used some glue to repair it since then it hadn’t come out of its socket for the 4 months of use
