Posted .Hi there, I'm sorry you had some trouble with the suction cup on the TripGrip mount. I would suggest cleaning off your dashboard as well as the suction cup on the mount with water in order to ensure there is no residue blocking the suction. Make sure you pinch the clamps on the mount together after placing your phone inside, in order to make it tighter and lock it in place. When you want to remove the phone, there is a green button on the side you can press to loosen the clamps. Cellphone holder.

I don't want it on my windshield. I'm going to try and have it in my cup holder with some Velcro on the bottom of the piece and the cup holder

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this nearly five years ago and it has been a staple to every long-distance or new drive I've ever done. It stuck to my windshield without falling. The flexible neck and mount rotation got easier to use over time. I couldn't use the vent attachment as mine seemed too deep for it to fully clip onto. Something did end up snapping at the gear (I'm not sure what to call it; it's the piece that locks the suction) and I just fixed it by sticking in a piece of plastic to hold the lock in place until I had to take it off. It held up through very frequent put-ons and take-offs. Only recently did I have to completely replace it because a piece connecting the main plastic to the suction broke and I couldn't repair it. I just bought another of the same one!

I just got it, so these are my first impressions so far. I’ve never had a mount like this before so I was a little surprised at how stiff the arm is. It’s pretty flexible but just takes a little muscle to shape it how you want it. It does come with the suction cup as well as the vent clip. The vent clip is kind of a puzzle to latch onto the vent slats and it doesn’t pivot, so I used the suction cup, which works well so far. The instructions included were not for the same product (the clips in the pictures were different), but it’s pretty self explanatory, so it wasn’t a big deal. Overall I think it’ll work well and it’s a great value.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed an alternative to a vent mounted system. The vent mount I had blocked too much AC flow here in AZ. This appeared to be a good alternative, and so far it is just great. Mounted on the left side of the windshield so as not to obstruct vision. Did need to purchase a 4' charging cable to reach the car's charging port(good to have anyway). Comes with a vent mount option if you need the flexibility.
