I’ve never really been an electric razor guy (though I had one in the Army for quick shaves); they never seemed to get it all very quickly, snagged hairs, Battery life was nil, and they didn’t clean up well. I simply stuck to my safety razor for the close shaves and cheap blades. While I won’t say I’m not going to use my safety razor anymore, I think this razor is great. It gives a very close shave for an electric, battery life is great, you can wet or dry shave (haven’t tried wet yet), rarely ever snags on a tough hair, and the self cleaning unit is actually kinda nice. I like it for travel and for quick emergency shave jobs. My only real complaint is the price; $122 (on sale and coupon applied, AND price matched) is still really pricey for a rather simple bit of equipment. However, Braun has good customer service, so if it should fail before it’s purported 7 years, I think they may help me out then. Either way, it was worth the money to me.

I have had a 7 series for quite a few years. After constant use it finally started having issues. Rather than have it repaired I decided to get something new. I read reviews about the 5 series and decided to give it a shot. To me, there is no difference in the quality of shave between the 5 and the 7. The difference is that the 7 has a few features that the 5 does not have, but they are things that make no difference to me. I am very pleased with the closeness and the comfort. Very quiet, and the charge lasts for a long time. Easy to clean. An overall excellent shaver. I am very pleased with this purchase and would not hesitate to do it again. Nothing beats a Braun.

I bought this to replace my aging Braun, which was pushing 15 years, and had broken on the trimmer portion. So far, this has been the best electric I have used. Like any electric, it takes time to cut a heavy beard like mine, but it does it cleanly, and without burning my face. The battery lasts a long time, and I can get many uses before needing to charge it again. The three lights on the front tell me when I am getting down on charge, which is a nice feature. My last one was a guessing game as to win I would need to charge it. I haven't used the cleaning bay yet, just because it takes up so much space on the counter top, but I will probably use it occasionally to give it a thorough cleaning once in a while.

I only had the shaver for like a month now and it's working great so far. I think it has good battery as well if you want to bring it with when you travel. Though the price is a bit overprice, it is indeed a great shaver! I hope it will last long!

This razor gets the job done. Smooth shave with little or no irritation, close and comfortable, easy to clean, long battery life. Not likely you'll find a better one, highly recommended.

I had an older 5000 series Braun shaver- it was getting harder to find parts & the shaves were just so-so, even with a new blade & foil. This shaver gives an excellent shave in less time than my old Braun. More shaves on one charge too, but that may have been due to an older battery. The combo charging & cleaning station is a good feature too. Worth the money.

Great electric shaver , shaved close and does not irritate my skin. I really love the recharging station. It also keeps a charge for a long period of time.

Couldn't be more happier, this Shaver has been used for about 2 months and has yet to need to be charged Again. I use it daily due to me traveling into different Plants on a day to day basis. A plus Product in my book. Highly recommend buing one.

The price is affordable compared to other Braun series for the same work. The battery is great, I have used for about 3 weeks now still haven't have to recharged. I liked it because it gave you a travel bag for you to bring it along to your long trip. I am going to upgrade to the Braun Series 7 in a few years once this Braun series 5 worn out.

Easy to use. Easy to clean. Battery is durable, haven't charged it for half a year. The cleaning station is powerful.

THE RAZOR HAS BEEN DESIGNED WELL FOR THE HAND. IT SEEMS TO HAVE A GOOD STRONG BATTERY ALLOWING FOR AN UNINTERRUPTED POWER SUPPLY, THEREFOR ALLOWING FOR A FASTER SHAVE. ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED TO USE LIGHT MACHINE OIL TO LUBRICATE THE FOIL AFTER SHAVING, IT WOULD APPEAR THAT USING ( PRE ELECTRIC SHAVE, ) CAN SERVE THE SAME PURPOSE AS LIGHT MACHINE OIL DOES IN KEEPING THE FOIL LUBRICATED SINCE IT DOES HAVE AN OIL BASE IN IT. I HAVE HAD THIS RAZOR FOR ONLY A MONTH OR TWO AND, I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. SO FAR, THIS RAZOR DESERVERS A FIVE STAR RATING.

Razor works very well!! switched from a rotary razor and I'm glad I did. heavy duty and the battery lasts a long time between charges.

I’ve used Norelco shavers for years. When my last Norelco shaver finally bit the dust, I decided to try a Braun. The new Braun shavers seemed better quality and had the best reviews. I’m happy I bought this one now. I’ve had it a few months and couldn’t be happier. Easy to use and holds a charge for a long time.

Braun is my first choice on any shaver , i have one Braun shaver before , it last for over 14 years before purchased this one, battery last for 3 weeks before have to charge again . Price is reasonable

I've charged this up and still running off the first charge. But the whole system seems a bit complicated and I have not had the time to read the manual yet, which I need to do. It's not intuitive. Have to figure out how to clean this with the plug-in machine and the fluid that comes with it. I don't know what this fluid is, how long it lasts. If I knew how involved this model is, I'd have bought a simpler, cheaper model.

Love this purchase. Great battery life and overall an amazing value. Would recommend everyone use this product.

Ive had this for a solid month, 1 charge and its still shaving great, i use it every day. A+++ in my book
