I’ve never really been an electric razor guy (though I had one in the Army for quick shaves); they never seemed to get it all very quickly, snagged hairs, Battery life was nil, and they didn’t clean up well. I simply stuck to my safety razor for the close shaves and cheap blades. While I won’t say I’m not going to use my safety razor anymore, I think this razor is great. It gives a very close shave for an electric, battery life is great, you can wet or dry shave (haven’t tried wet yet), rarely ever snags on a tough hair, and the self cleaning unit is actually kinda nice. I like it for travel and for quick emergency shave jobs. My only real complaint is the price; $122 (on sale and coupon applied, AND price matched) is still really pricey for a rather simple bit of equipment. However, Braun has good customer service, so if it should fail before it’s purported 7 years, I think they may help me out then. Either way, it was worth the money to me.

It's really good having bought this electric shaver. Because of my work, I need to shave every single day and because Braun is a reliable brand I decided to go for it. The package came very well. The shaver is simple and intuitive. You can move the head back and forth or just set a stable position. The cleaning system is simple as well. You just flip down the shaver put inside (along with the cleaning product) and let the machine do its job. You can shave dry or wet but I recommend shaving wet so the razors will slide better on your skin face. Have no cons at all so far. For the price and for what the shaver is supposed to do.

The Braun series 5 does a good job of getting a close shave. The features that i like is that it comes with a cradle for automatic charging and cleaning.

The new cartridge design which replaces both the foil and blades at the same time, provides for the closest to a razor shave that I have ever experienced. The shaver can be used wet or dry, and is easily cleaned under running tap water, or even better in the included charge base with Braun fluid. The only disadvantage I see might be the replacement cost for the 1 piece foil blade combination unit.

The price is affordable compared to other Braun series for the same work. The battery is great, I have used for about 3 weeks now still haven't have to recharged. I liked it because it gave you a travel bag for you to bring it along to your long trip. I am going to upgrade to the Braun Series 7 in a few years once this Braun series 5 worn out.

I don't always have time to shave with a blade, so it's been nice to run this across my chin a few times in the morning and get a decent shave. My last Braun shaver is 10 years old and still going strong, so I probably could have done without this one, but it's so light and fast that I don't regret the purchase. The only thing that worries me is how often I will have to replace the cleaning cartridge, but it does a great job of maintenance and recharges the shaver at the same time.

Razor works very well!! switched from a rotary razor and I'm glad I did. heavy duty and the battery lasts a long time between charges.

The Braun Series 5 electric shaver does a good job shaving a medium to heavy coarse beard. My only complaint is the cleaning attachment. It's just another added product that you have to buy every so often. Other than that it shaves the beard and I'm content.

I've charged this up and still running off the first charge. But the whole system seems a bit complicated and I have not had the time to read the manual yet, which I need to do. It's not intuitive. Have to figure out how to clean this with the plug-in machine and the fluid that comes with it. I don't know what this fluid is, how long it lasts. If I knew how involved this model is, I'd have bought a simpler, cheaper model.

I would recommend this shaver to people who save every two days or so. This shaver is good but sometimes it takes a couple of run throughs to get all the spots. Good price for a shaver.

It's a very nice razor and shaves really well. But, I miss the setting in my old 3 series that locked down and made one of the 2 shaver foils proud so you could shave under your nose without catching your mustache with both foils and middle trim bar. But, it's a decent purchase price and it was time to replace the old razor that had a worn out (near broken) trimmer.

Bought this for my son's 16th birthday, a real manhood right of passage type of gift, which he appreciated that gesture. He loves it. He's been using my own Series 9 razor, but now he has his very own and he's very happy with it. He loves the way it feels in his hand, and it seems very similar to my 9, although the place to plug in the base is more awkward.

I have owned Norelco for many years and was a bit skeptical. But I was pleasantly surprised. The Braun provided a very nice shave and it feels like a quality built product. I have not tried the cleaning option yet, but that was just a bonus for me.

This product is robust and reliable. Serves well as a trimmer for touch ups.

I was looking for a replacement for my old Norelco razor. The reviews on this one look good and the price worked, so I bought it. Overall I find it an improvement, but sometimes I wonder if I should have gotten a Series 7 instead.

Awesome electric shaver, wayyy better than my old phillips shaver. It gives you a nice clean shave and comes with a nice alcohol box to clean your shaver. It charges fast and shaves well, what else is there to say.

For the price I am a bit disappointed in the fact that it takes too many times going over the same spot to get a really close shave. But, I have not experienced but the slightest razor burn feeling from that. It says it cuts shaving time but that has not been my experience at all.... possibly longer.

This came in handing for getting our haircuts at home with the pandemic. Did everything we needed to be a home barber.

I like this product. This is really awesome and would like to recommend. Battery backup is awesome and last for 3+ weeks for me.
