This one can shave closer and easier than my old $30 shaver. I like that the base can charge and clean it at the same time. My only compalin is the trimmer is too narrow and the vibration becomes uncomfortable on the hand after holding it for a certain amount of time.

I have had a 7 series for quite a few years. After constant use it finally started having issues. Rather than have it repaired I decided to get something new. I read reviews about the 5 series and decided to give it a shot. To me, there is no difference in the quality of shave between the 5 and the 7. The difference is that the 7 has a few features that the 5 does not have, but they are things that make no difference to me. I am very pleased with the closeness and the comfort. Very quiet, and the charge lasts for a long time. Easy to clean. An overall excellent shaver. I am very pleased with this purchase and would not hesitate to do it again. Nothing beats a Braun.

First time for me to use this foil shaver. I always use rotary shaver. The design is awesome but during the first two weeks that I use it I always gets nicked in my chin and cheek. I guess my skin is still adjusting to the foil. I almost return it because of that but now I don’t get any nicked anymore. Close shaved is awesome. The vibration is strong compare to rotary and also a lot noisier. Easy to clean and I like the base cleaner. Its just I have to buy the liquid solution every month to keep it smells fresh and lubricated but its fully optional. Overall I like it and hopefully to use it for many years.

This is my first time owning a premium machine like the Braun Series 5. I have either had way cheaper electric shavers or have used actual razors...never again! This machine not only cuts and provides a close and smooth shave...I am even able to use on my head. Has left my skin very smooth and I cant believe I didnt have one of these machines sooner. I will gladly own this product for as long as I am able to.

Bought this for my dad for Father’s Day. He had a old norelco that was very difficult to clean. Tried it on myself and it gives a close comfortable shave. Easy to adjust and easy to set up and clean with the cleaning system that comes with it. As with any electric razor it’s a good idea to apply moisturizer after shaving to prevent razor burn.

I received this ad a Christmas gift and it has worked better than expected. I get a close shave (granted nothing beats a razor blade) with very little skin irritation if any. The cleaner works well and it is easy to remove the blades for a deeper clean. This razor provides both a wet and dry shave. Overall very happy with the product.

I bought this to replace my aging Braun, which was pushing 15 years, and had broken on the trimmer portion. So far, this has been the best electric I have used. Like any electric, it takes time to cut a heavy beard like mine, but it does it cleanly, and without burning my face. The battery lasts a long time, and I can get many uses before needing to charge it again. The three lights on the front tell me when I am getting down on charge, which is a nice feature. My last one was a guessing game as to win I would need to charge it. I haven't used the cleaning bay yet, just because it takes up so much space on the counter top, but I will probably use it occasionally to give it a thorough cleaning once in a while.

I recently purchased a Norelco rotary shaver from another retailer, and was not very happy with it -- it took too many passes over my face to remove all the stubble. I did some research on what shavers were the highest-rated, and the Braun 7 series kept coming up. However, I didn't really want to spend that much money, so when this Series 5 model went on sale, I bought one. I really like this razor, and do feel it's the best one I've owned. I can shave very quickly with it and it leaves my face very smooth. Nothing will ever shave as closely an actual razor blade, but this electric razor comes pretty darn close. And I really love the charging/self-cleaning base. After every shave, I just pop it into the base, hit a button, and it gets cleaned and lubed -- no more using those little brushes, taking the head apart to clean the blades, and fumbling with those little bottles of oil.

I only had the shaver for like a month now and it's working great so far. I think it has good battery as well if you want to bring it with when you travel. Though the price is a bit overprice, it is indeed a great shaver! I hope it will last long!

Very impressed with this. Never had a shave this close before. Electric razors like this have always been hit or miss for me, some with better or worse quality in various areas, but this one definitely is the best by far. The cleaning station that it comes with is also very nice. Still a little expensive though. That being said, I would probably recommend to stick with the Series 5 (this one) as I feel it is the point where the value you get out of it for the price kind of hits the limit. After having used it, my guess is that the Series 7 would be too expensive for what you would get out of it.

This is my first electric shaver and I absolutely love it. It's easy to use, offers a close shave, and the self cleaning does a great job. It's nice to be able to shave on the go. I highly recommend.

I have been using this as a dry shave and it has been great, I’m impressed with how close of a shave it gets. Plenty of power, shaver doesn’t bog down while using it on several days of growth.

This razor gets the job done. Smooth shave with little or no irritation, close and comfortable, easy to clean, long battery life. Not likely you'll find a better one, highly recommended.

For years I have purchased low end electric razors. I decided to spend the extra money to purchase this mid range razor from Braun and I will never look back. My old electric razors took a lot of time to get the job done. The braun just takes minutes. The shave is very close and most important, it doesn't irritate your face. If you are like me and always forget to clean your electric razor on a regular schedule, this Braun cleaning system does all the work for you. It's a no brainer for me. A great shave and a cleaning system that lets you know when to clean the electric Razor. This cleaning system will keep the Bruan in top shape.

I have tried several electric shavers over 50+ years and found them all to be unsatisfactory compared to a blade. After going on blood thinner following surgery, I had to stop shaving with a blade. I was very skeptical about electric shavers. I have been pleasantly surprised with my new Braun shaver. It shaves close. It is very well designed and convenient to use. I would definitely recommend it.

I have always used cheap electric razors that you can get such as Remington and other less known brands. This razor by far was much more impressive and efficient. It gives a nice clean shave and has mechanics that allow to shave in tough places such as under the nose. It also comes with a near charge and clean station that just allows you to put the shaver on the dock and it immediately starts charging. Don’t be afraid to spend up for one of these. It’s well worth it.

I bought this shaver for my son. This is his first shaver, and I wanted him to have a quality product and as well as one that did not give him razor burn or cut him while shaving. So far the product has been great. I also love the fact that he can shave either wet or dry and I love that it has the self cleaning stand. I don't have to worry that he didn't clean his shaver properly. Great product!
