I thought overall it was beneficial to get most of my hair off. I still need to use a razor to get complete smoothness, but it’s still worth it for me.

I’ve always gotten horrible razor bumps and ingrown hairs, so I went electric back in 2011. This was supposed to be an upgrade after my old Series 7 was the victim of unfortunate airline baggage handling, but it’s not quite right. It is a more comfortable shave than before but in order to get a real close shave (even with a brand new cartridge) requires 3 or 4 deliberate passes over each part of your face if you have coarse facial hair. It does use the same cleaning solution as the other series from Braun, so if you are upgrading rest assured that your on hand cleaning solutions will fit this cleaning / charging stand. If you’ve still got an old Braun that works, hold on to that thing until it dies! But if you’re still on the old lather & razor set up and tired of cuts and bumps, this is a decent upgrade.

These work well but when I was using them the first time I had to go over the same area 4-5 times to get all the hair trimmed. I think as my facial hair gets use to these trimmers it will start to work faster but it was not as thorough as I thought they would be. I would still recommend them.

Nice looking & seems to be built well... but pricecy, it doesn't give a close shave as you would expect for the price. Have to go over several times even tho misses hairs (1/3 to 1/4") hairs still. Would have expected a better shave for that price. Thats my opinion.

not as good as I thought. can't shave as smooth as regular blades but convenient. have to shave twice a day to make sure it runs smoothly

I researched this product and spoke to a friend who had one. It very much has lived up to my expectations so far.

It's a very nice shaver. It doesn't cut as close as the Series 7 used to do, but it does the job. I like how it is more versatile around the nooks and crannies of the face and neck.

My remington floating head shaver wasn't this noisy, but somehow, I don't think it had the power that this one does. I love that it's so solid, that the heads rock to contour, and that it has a washing station as part of the charging unit.

Please note: I have very coarse hair. I picked this razor up hoping it would shave some time off of my mornings before work. I found that using the razor dry was very poor. Using the razor wet was much better but still not 100% close as well as the amount of time that it took to get even close was double or triple the amount of time it would take with a regular razor. With that said having to use the razor in a wet condition to be able to get a semi close shave for me did not work out for the cost of the unit. $250 usd

I've been using this for a few months and I just don't know if I prefer it to a straight razor. It's sometimes tough to get as close as I like. For the cost I think it should be better.

Although comfortable in the hand, this razor is a bit cumbersome to use. The closeness is nothing special, I find it average. I have a bald head a shave it daily. There are bits of cuttings that drop into my face and eyes as the razor doesn't collect the cuttings well. The sanitizing cartridge is propietary (Braun specific) and refilling with a off brand sanitizer is next to impossible. Overall I was not happy with this expensive purchase despite the many online recommendations. I'll go back to a Norelco for a shave as close, better collection system and a sanitizing system that I can fill and empty without having to buy sanitizing cartridges.

Overall this is a good razor that i see lasting for years. Its low maintenance and comfortable on sensitive skin.

I had not purchased an electric shaver in over 10 years and thought it was time to purchase a new one. I thought this shaver would replace my manual shaving and it did not. I get a better shave when i shave in the shower.

This does give a reasonable shave fairly quickly. However it seems to miss hari on my neck, is tough to get around ears and nose and doesn't give as close a shave as a razor. Easier on the skin but not as good of a shave as a blade.

Bought this for my boyfriend to replace his similar Philips shaver which had a broken part. So far so good; some of the wash cycles are really long (20-30 mins) but no complaints otherwise.

I’m giving this product 3 stars because it definitely is for black people. I was trying to find an alternative to using clippers to shave, and read a couple of reviews that said it worked well for people of color. I unfortunately didn’t have the same experience. Overall, the product seemed good and may work well for ethnicities. I cleaned the product thoroughly and returned with no problems.

It’s a great product but definitely get the warranty!! The power Button will fall off at some point this is my 3rd pair in 3 years. but they are very good with my sensitive skin.

Awful experience! After all great reviews and ranked as No. 1 electric shaver I was flabbergasted to see that this shaver simply would not cut hair on my face. I had about 4-5 days beard and it took a painful 45 minutes to realize this shaver can’t actually cut and remove hair no matter how hard, long, deep, etc. I do it. Also the pop up trimmer it’s a joke. It doesn’t do anything. I have $9.99 battery trimmer that actually works. Braun Series 9 trimmer is just a toy, useless accessories. I had to use regular razor blade to shave today. Extremely disappointed! I’m returning this piece of garbage today! Even if they pay me to keep I wouldn’t do it because it’s worthless. Just a nice looking piece in the bathroom but good for nothing.
