Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent scan quality, and compact size as significant advantages of the DS-620 Mobile Color Page Scanner. Many also appreciate its lightweight design and affordable price. However, some users find the software somewhat challenging to use, and a few have experienced compatibility issues. The placement of the USB port has also received some negative feedback.

    Good hardware, incompetent support software

I bought a Brother DSmobile 620 on 2017.05.13. Its driver doesn't deskew, but it feeds old, fragile newspaper notices without damaging them and it crops very nicely. The hardware has one notable shortage. The unit comes with a USB cable that has ferrite parasitic suppressors on it. It won't work with a cable that doesn't have them. The USB bus Rx/Tx interface has inadequate noise margins or hysteresis. The cable problem appears on several machine in the household. None of them has a similar problem with other outrigger equipment. The deal breaker is its image processing software. The dynamic range of grayscale images is inadequate. Dark areas are devoid of detail, the worst low-end washout I've seen in any of the several scanners I've owned. The solution is to scan the images in color and reduce them to grayscale with a third party tool, which produces results that are well within expectations. Unfortunately, the color images themselves reveal the shortcomings of the support software. Images are grossly oversaturated. The support software provides control of neither saturation nor chroma. The machine is useless for color imaging.

My 1st Brother purchase! Very lightweight, can easily be used while on the go or in my home office. Quality scans, super quick! Device comes with a nice little tote bag! USB powered. I downloaded my software from the Brother website/comes w/CD though and most importantly, all is MACBOOK compatible! A little-BIG Device*
