Replaced a 10 year old laser printer and purchased this model after much searching. The reviews are correct...one of the best printers on the market!

I replaced my old HL-5130 with an HL-3170CDW. The HL-3170CDW is a great update from my older printer. It's very easy to set-up and produced great prints.

This is the best color laser printer I've had in awhile. My last dell laser printer did not accept certain paper.this printer takes it like a champ.

PRO: Auto-duplexing; color laser printing; reasonable consumables costs; can be left sitting unused for extended periods because it uses toner, not ink; decent web interface; can be set to email user when toner is low, problems, etc.; low energy consumption; works PCs and iOS devices; adjustable fuser temp; fast throughput; networkable via USB, Cat 5, and Wi-Fi; true AirPrint for Apple devices; easy setup, but not 10-min if you are one who reads directions first; decent, but not great, print quality. CON: Mediocre color saturation and black density which cannot be adjusted denser. The color output is appropriate for nearly all personal and business purposes, but it won't leave you bragging and don't expect commercial photograph quality prints -- but then you're not paying tens of thousands of dollars either; Loud. SUMMARY: I bought this printer when a Dell C1660w, which has incredible print quality for the price, failed to meet expectations in my mixed OS environment. It was easy to setup, especially considering I had never setup an AirPrint printer for Apple iOS devices. The PC setup, Wi-Fi setup, and AirPrint setup all went quickly following instructions. I would gladly give this printer 5-stars if the color print quality was on a par with the Dell. Recommended for mixed OS environments where a color laser printer is desired and business-grade color for charts, fliers, etc., is adequate.

Delightful little machine, we really like it; the air-print feature is very nice and allows us to set it up without cables resulting in a tidier office.

Good printer with good color copies. Cartridges are expensive to replace as they seem to finish around the same time.

Fits my home office needs perfectly. Best to keep a second set of toner cartridges on hand, when one goes the rest are sure to follow.

Been using brother printers for years, laser is definitely the way to go to save on ink and very easy to change toner.

After reviewing several makes and models, this was the best performing printer for the money. So far this printer has performed exactly as expected.

This has turned out to be a very good printer. I got so tired of changing ink cartridges in inkjet printers. These toners last forever.

If only the toner was affordable then it would be the best purchase I have made in a long time.

I absolutely love my brother printer totally worth it! its so easy to set up. I print from laptop and even from my iPhone.

The printer works fast on WiFi. It takes some time to set up all futures, but no time to start using basic functions.

Goes to sleep too quickly. Print quality is good. Would choose another printer.

Toner printers will outlast ink jets any day of the week and is worth not worrying about if not used for a while

Does what I need. Only issue is it goes to sleep at weird times and waking it up can be frustrating.

I use this printer in my office and it works great for what I need it for. Saving me on ink. Love it

Got this on sale and with some coupons. It's a decent machine - a little slow, but it consistently works!
